My UMX little apprentice has a mind of its own. It binds when it wants. Come to find out, if I go into my iX14, and reset the settings for Smart it becomes smart again, and connects to the radio. I think I need a new receiver but it's only gotten about 10 good flights. For $159, it could be better.
Well you would think for what there charging for these things they would be better and I expect more from horizon I’ve got many planes this being my first umx I’m not very happy with it . Tried to do the HH thing and claim keeps failing for some reason
Bummer. Are you sure it can't be repaired well enough to fly again? I've been able to crash my UMX planes multiple times and still get them to fly again. Worse for me is when I mange to let a plane fly away on me never to be seen again. That has happened to me twice in the last five years. Find a more open flying field and stick with it.
It can be repaired! Maybe foam safe contact cement like gorilla glue and tape could get it back together without any parts. The fuselage was compressed so may not have gone back together straight, so we rebuilt it with e-flute replacement parts instead! Hope to get a second flight when we get back from the beach.
Hey, keep that head up! Nothing a little glue can't fix as long as the electronics didn't break! I mean I built the mighty mini Flight test corsair kit and on the first flight not but twenty seconds in it nosed over and nocked of the wing and I got it in flying condition in fifteen minutes with a bit of hot glue. don't stay disappointed! It's a part of the hobby and the more and more it happens, the more and more you get better at it and if you crash again, over time it becomes more and more funny! I'll show you what my Corsair looks like on my channel, and I hope it inspires you to keep on pushing in this hobby and enjoying it! Best of Luck on a new one!
We have a couple of different times. May go back to them again. We do not get enough practice days to try things and do testing. We are going to try MIP high flow next to see if we can get the combination dialed in.
We have, great product. We could not get the back end to absorb bumps the way we wanted with the 20 hole. Probably our fluid choices and not the pistons though. MIP pistons were in the first used buggy that we started with, so Donnie just likes how they drive a little better.
It was a lot of fun. We made some changes to the shock setup for the odd simi main in Ebuggy trying to get the back end to settle down some, but it was too big of a change and Donnie did not like the way it was driving for the first part of the race. It was our first time running this format and we wanted to make it into the big show but came up a little bit short. Learned some things and had a lot of fun! I need sleep now after the long day.
Could you guys do a setup video on the e truggy and ebuggy that would be greatly appreciated? I run Tekno just like to see what everyone’s setup is thank you. Great racing!!
Pretty exciting stuff for a young man getting his first knife. I got a kick out of him when he said he liked the CRKT that had the Veff serrations on the blade. Tom Veff is an acquantince of mine and he invented that style of serrations. Tom has a sharpening and knife repair service in Oregon City, Oregon. He invented the serration style in 2004 and sought his patent. He then shared the rights with CRKT in 2006 to market knives with them. He regularly gets knives in his shop from around the world with people requesting those serrations on many styles and brands of knives. Tom is 74 years old and a true gem to hang around with. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us.
That is very cool! Donnie now has several more knives with a slowly growing collection. It is great to hear of true craftsmen still following their passions.
i was trying to find a transparent yellow spray paint for my headlights. i searched the tamiya translucent spray paint and your video from 4 years ago deciding what colour to paint your rc car came up. it helped me decide on getting that spray paint so thank you! It sucks that you guys only have 500 followers because you deserve so much more. you consistently post videos even though you don't get many views which i think is awesome and you've gained yourself another follower and I'll be telling my friends about your channel, keep up the great videos!! - Cooper :)
Thank you for the kind words! We post things because it is something that we enjoy doing and it crates a great catalog of memories for us to go back and see as well. Followers are just a bonus!
I did not see this comment until after this year's race. We run OGO tires and used the Blizzards and Storms in both Ultra Soft and Super Soft this year depending on the temperature and how much grip was in the track. By 10:30 on Mains day we were on super soft. JConcepts Reflex in green is very popular with many of the drivers and have run them at this race in the past. The track gets rutted and bumpy with dust, and we have run into all kinds of temperature differences at this race over the years so it can get tricky to have the correct tire on.
