I love the content of this video. I am from South Africa and have a challenge to get a supplier for my garage doors. I have 2 x garage doors which is 8 meters long and 3.8meters high and 1 door which is 4 meters kong and 3.8m high.place i am starting to build is in Wester Cape next to the sea it is super windy..i love the quality and features of this door presented. Wouldn’t it be better to also place an obstruction sensor on a diagonal so that it picks up any obstruction. For example, if it’s at 6 inches and your plane is parked half way in, then your plane won’t trip the sensor because there is nothing to block it.
Shaun, regarding safety features to prevent the instance you referenced where the tail would not activate the photo eye sensors- we also offer a safety edge. @@gkubiak1 Yep. These are normally used as hangar doors for small to medium sized aircraft. They have to be custom engineered - as does the building they're going on, they're built on-site with heavy steel frames, custom sided to match the building, insulated, then Schweiss has their own winch motor to lift the door at multiple points, and that winch operator also has to be engineered to the door and building. They essentially are lifting a 2-piece structural wall. It's worth the money, and you get what you pay for, but yeah, you're gonna pay a lot.
I count 3 gutters and 2 downspouts in just this frame alone. That awning section of roof will produce about 160 gallons of run off an hour max. If the driveway under that can't handle that little bit of runoff then that's the concrete guys fault. You act like the water is falling on the dirt right next to the foundation. Even if that was the case it should still be fine, if this house has a door like this I promise it has an internal and external French drain system.
These doors are beautiful, the designs are genius. I’m particularly interested in a hydraulic lift glass door as well as a hydraulic lift security door (one for ground level security & one for second story; both would be preferable if they had good insulating qualities.
