So annoying when they hit you with the "suddenly with 10 seconds left to vote, I wanna call sus on someone now that they wont have time to defend themselves"
That triple medscan game was so fucking cringe I'm ngl. That shit was turbocringe. Insanely boring. Same with three people sitting on top of each other for 2 rounds straight. It's just SO boring because once the first round is through half the lobby is cleared
but since there is a larger span of years the content does not get very specific. rather it just goes into the main ideas which makes it slightly easier
How are you gonna start your video off pretentiously by saying “are you smart enough” and then show a basic algebra problem that people learn in the 7th grade
I struggled so much with algebra in high school. My teachers were good, but just not for me. Your videos make these equations so understandable. Thank you
People can get confused with the denominator being right next to the expression being multiplied. Would be more clear if rewritten showing 3 underneath so people do not guess 1 as the answer
More like you were taught wrong. It's PE(MD)(AS); parenthesis, exponents, multiplication and division in whichever order they appear, addition and subtraction in whatever order they appear.
Multiplication is normally said before division, but multiplication and division occur in the same step, so do addition and subtraction. It just goes from left to right
@@aidanpatten8968 when we were taught the order of operations in the 80's there was never any mention of this left to right multiplication division. It was always multiplication and then division... It really doesn't matter though since I don't think anyone's ever come up with a practical application for this.
So the way I was taught it Is that it goes in order with PEMDAS so Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction, so this is the simplified equation 9/3(3) at this point you do multiplication because it comes first in pemdas which gives you 9/9 any number divided by itself is 1 which means the answer is 1 not 9
So are you going to ignore how the UK uses BODMAS so either the Brits have their own kind of math or you do multiplication and division in the same step and go from left to right
Parentheses: 1 + 2 = 3 And since multiplication comes first, you multiply 3 × 3. Then you divide. Since 3 × 3 = 9, you would divide 9 / 9. I got 1 as the answer. If I'm wrong, I'm probably just stupid (:
Multiplication and division are not the same step. PEMDAS = Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. That's the order, those are the steps. Nowhere in PEMDAS is 'right to left' or 'division and multiplication are the same step' SO 9/3(1+2) = 9/3(3)<- MORE PARENTHESIS, parenthesis first~ or you can even FOLLOW PEMDAS THE OTHER WAY AND DO MULTIPLICATION BEFORE DIVISION so 9/3*3 = 9/9 = 1 There was no Exponent, so I didn't include it, sorry.
There is no such thing as subtraction and division they are just special kinds of addition and multiplication so following the rules of of pemdas where we solve all operands of the same type from left to right we do all multiplications from left to right including the special kind of multiplication called division. Computers actually dont even use pemdas they use pema because division and subtraction are impossible for computers so they just add and multiply instead. If you want further clarification literally just look up the wikepedia page for order of operations where it shows the definition as Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication AND division, addition AND subtraction. those ands are often forgotten which is why PEMA is better so you can't forget.
@@Valentine570 Ok thanks. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are taught in school. (at least they were when I went) When did they change school to pure insanity with computer logic? (I'm kidding) In the end Since the (2+1) = (3) then the parenthesis would still be done before the diviplication or multivision followed by adstraction and subdition. The answer is still 1...I hope. Now I lost myself in math loop.
@@420ALI3N They didn't change math its always been that way its just not as helpful to tell kids that so we use PEMDAS but they are a lot better about making sure kids get the AND for multiplication AND division nowadays. The stuff inside the parenthesis happens first but the multiplication of whats outside the parenthesis happens when multiplication happens not during the parenthesis step. The problem is that the problem is written wrong so there is no answer because the problem could be 9/(3*3) or (9/3)*3 there is literally no way to tell without added parenthesis so there is no answer.
