My iphone isnt the best camera, isnt the best calculator or gaming device.. it isnt the best lcd screen and you know what... its expensive than a lot more stuff. But its great because it does a lot of that "good enough"
This ship isn't designed for making sense, it is designed for selling purposes only. People buy this ship, because it looks beautiful. Everything else is just a counter measure to lever out any doubts. So people think: "Oh, I want to own this ship" - but it is so expensive. "Oh, look it has modularity and therefore have many uses for." - at that point everybody with enough money in pocket already bought it.
One Ship that you can respawn and heal and refine and carry cargo/vehicles is better than having several ships. I'm only one person, and with this one Ship that I can enjoy having several purposes would be great for me. To be able to travel around the different systems in one Ship is what I'm looking for. I did purchase the Banu Merchantman due to having a huge cargo space for vehicles and cargo and a med bay, and stores to sell goods to turn a profit to support myself. However, I might melt my BMM for the Galaxy. I Just have to wait until both ships are out and then decide if it's better to keep the BMM or get the Galaxy. I just want a home base type Ship to jump around the different systems in. Thanks for the topic.
Just bought the galaxy a few days back, and I do not regret it. They will make significant changes to it, I'm sure. What I like to see is an increase, even so slightly, in armament, especially for the pilot gimballed size 3 to keep the pressure up. Cargo slots in the hangar should be made modular parts, so you could throw in medbeds t3 or one refinery in there.
Stating ships that do better is kind of irrelevant. The idea is different companies have different entries into the field and this is an option among many.
I love the titan was my 2nd starter package ship I love the cutlas black it is my 3rd starter ship package of which I still have today and I use it daily I love my Connie Aquila I use mine all the time I love the little medical pycese I love the msr I normally buy one every wipe after I've grinded the cash out for it I love my little fighter ships the arrow and the Gladius the Gladius as with the Connie Aquila have paid irl money for and I traded the little medical ship for the Gladius and I love the blade for grinding out lrt bounties. All these are the smaller ships I love but the luxury ship I absolutely love is the 600i. I can't stand any of the ships bigger then the 600i.
Imagine Apollo but with medical pisces as a snub ship and medical ground vehicle on board. This don't sounds useless 4 me. i mean, that if i want to play as a healer support in any MMO, this combo sounds like the best for me. Cuz i can do my main purpose with this ship and also just live on it and do regular pve missions and etc. Apollo is faster, yes, but pisces is faster, and there will be lots of places where u can't arrive without ground vehicles. Cutlass is also not faster then pisces and u can't makes full heal. Endevour is a good alternative, but it can't land on the ground, so u can't have ground vehicle.
I actually hope players keep expressing their dissatisfaction with this ship and labeling it as useless, because it might just motivate the developers to give it a significant upgrade and prove everyone wrong!
It kinda looks like the Anaconda from Elite Dangerous. I do everything with that ship... Mining, trading, transport, bounty missions, exploration. Apparently, this is not the same.
All ships will have a purposes eventually. Till the game is flagged as "finished" (no MMO is never finished) everything is supposed to change. The good is that backers can melt their ships, try something else then claim them back.
Good choices for sure to all you newbs ! Been playing for some time, the only additions I would make are vulture and retaliator, I say the tally purely because it’s a tank, it holds more missiles with the option of going semi gunship with all the turrets but ultimately stealth is unimportant on ERT bounties so being able to drop more torpedoes between re arming at stations and you will farm credits faster for longer at a cheaper ship buy cost to the eclipse irl and in game to correct? Hearing you say that you expect 3.18 to come out tomorrow at the time of recording hurt to hear lol. That being said 3.18 is supposed to come out tomorrow (3/9/23) so I hope I don't suffer the same disappointment (again)
The deal with this ship is range, and space for a small vessel like a Pisces. Let's say you have a Cat, A2, Carrack, Raylen, Odyssey... you can run cargo locally in a solar system and bank it. Then it just looks awesome. In the end it is a game. You are not running Maersk. It is nice to switch scenery when you are onboard and have some fun with your RSI
Great video! I recently started playing SC about month ago and pledged with the cutlass black. So glad I did. A month later and I have already purchased a lot of standalone ships, including the Drake Vulture with the ghoulish skin, which I am excited to try out in 3.18.
I'm not on board w/ the eclipse choice seeing that the retaliator base is half the price. and for the 300 dollar amount a new player can get the retaliator base and the cutlass black and a titan!
I think you are overreacting. The meaning of all professions is that there should be one ship of all sizes. Endevour which will be the largest, Galaxy which will be the second largest, apollo medium, Cutty red medium lite, and C8R which will be the smallest. CIG has said this themselves, that they want one ship in each size. So technically they have filled the medicine ships. You say zero sense, that's something I don't approve of. When it comes to Cargo, I can agree. We don't have enough ship documentation for Refinery yet. So i don't agreed i don't either.
It does seem like it needs to do SOMETHING better, and that front portion is a good target to do something. Additional weapons placements, a non-modular cargo bay, or move the hangar up front and replace it with a second module.
I am fine with CIG selling ships. But it starts to feel weird when they hype ships that are years away. Even then, on a marketing level, they would haul in more sales, when they finish a ship. Then start hyping it. Then have a massive release update around their events. We all know they have their current marketing model, because they are broke all the time. It is the most bizarre way of making money and disappoints lots of people instead.
Good overall list, great video... couple notes though! Given that you went as expensive as Eclipse... why didnt you mention the holy trinity of medium size daily drivers, all of which are cheaper than an Eclipse? (Constellation, Corsair, and MSR) they are like the SUPER primo upgrade to the Avenger Titan and Cutlass Black daily driver paths, but each with a different set of specialties. MSR-Datarunning+Manuevering , Con. Andromeda-Missles Boat with great Guns , Corsair-GUNzGunsGuNsGunZ. Also, as long as you mentioned salvage, why not suggest Vulture given it is RIGHT in line with the price of the Prospector and is fufilling the same role (but for salvage instead of mining). Also... :,( No mention of racing vehicles at all despite Racing being a viable way to earn a living in 3.18.
The issue with this ship is it does not have a base function without modules. Cargo should be the base module and it's combat performance should be improved.
I would say the best course of action would be to use the front area for smaller version of a an additional module. So let's say you bought the medical module and the refining one. You could then fit a primary with its full capacity half the capacity of a different task.
I don't play the game so take my opinion with a grain of salt but i get the impression the idea is that instead of having to learn how to fly several specialized ships you can learn to fly one ship exceptionally well with the trade off it doesn't do something as good as a specialized version. Personally i like the idea of one ship that's more of a jack of all trades then having to swap out to a new ship every time i want to do something different. Then again that concept may fail completely in Star Citizen and favor specialization in a way i can't appreciate looking at it from the outside. That price tag though is insane.
First off, turn your mic up plz. Secondly, you do make some good points but that's why there's options to this ship, and yes other ships can or may be better but the choice is up to the player. Lastly, we don't really know what will be done to the ship as far as changes until the ship comes out, you're only making guessing based off of what we barely know about the ship unless you know someone on the inside. I kinda think this was a useless video, and I only heard complaints.
Man. You might think that larger capital ships don't have a purpose right now or that it's not important that they continue work on them. But that's your opinion. There is a large contingency of people playing who ONLY want to see more capital ships get put into the game. The game is severely lacking in the large ship department at the moment. The amount of diversity on available options is nearly non-existent. We need more large ships if for no other reason than to have other large ships for our large ships to fight.
I bought The Galaxy, based on the loaner ship, the Carrack. I figured it'd be a while before the Galaxy is flight ready. Since its still early concept we are all guessing on what the finished ship will be. The best part about buying ships is being able to upgrade with the initial money spent. Good breakdown though.
Any ship has a purpose, for some ship it is more cleanly defined and for other less. Judge this ship when it is in game to see what people will do with it. The only persons able to define usability of a ship are players...
In systems coming in like Pyro where Hospitals/Refineries won't be readily available, the Galaxy makes perfect sense and it has just as much, if not more weapons, as any specialized ship in the same categories . The thing that I believe Sux, is that CIG gave it only 1 shield generator. Unless it has armor, it's a sitting duck, even with an escort. It is very disappointing to me, that CIG Thinks every player is going to be roaming around the verse in large packs and designs their ships with that mentality. IMO the need is ballance, less weapons, heavier armor/shields. It should not matter if there is 1 ship or 10 .
soo short , starter ships noo need too realy good. :D its just begining ... beter than on foot :D cutter and c8x hawe 4 scu cargo * and hawe some more diference, cutter hawe bed, can logout, but only hawe two weapon gimbal s1 can change two fixed s2 (posible mix but not realy good idea) , c8x is faster ant more agile ship and hawe four s1 weaponb with gimbal posiblity c8x way more smaler . :D origin 100i hawe more agile than another starter and way more beter aceleration (c8x hawe beter top speed but less aceleration and agility) 100i hawe beter weapon posiblity. two gimbaled s2, this can change two s3 fixed. aaand rockets, c8x hawe two s1 rocket, cutter hawe four s1 rocket, this can change two s2. and 100i hawe two s2 , n durablity, cutter hawe best durablity( overal 18600 hitpoint) and next is the 100i ( 4450), and last the c8x (3250) yes, cutter is hawe lot more. :D but dont forget, so many times maneuverability beter than more hitpoint. :D both hawe same sinlge s1 shield , avenger titan the best starter around all option price and what can do whit this ship is realy god. but , thats a game, u pay more u can take beter ship. :D looks like real life... any peole can buy beter car when hawe enught $ :D soo just enjoy :) aurora starterpack also enught for the beginning i hope u enjoy the game :) but u need more precise information , first information, second make video... :D
you're looking at it from the wrong perspective, and dont forgot, endeavor the 'last one' coming ship category... and later incrase the price also, looks like the banu mm... :D another side : this covered large ship hull & one s3 shield... medbay modul hawe less bed sure , apolo is medium ship with two medium shield... with medium hull... witch one hawe later beter survivability ?... :D and also important... everyone is different, their needs are different, some people need this.(me alos not like this ship, i no see the potential, for mee beter he dedicated... cargo , need dedicated cargospi... medical ? carrack-890- later banu mm , idris also hawe medbay. )
