One of my top 3 transformers of all time. Some good Skywarp fan material is the Chapter 2 mission in War for Cybertron where you can play as him. The dialog between him and Thundercracker (and at times Starscream) is hilarious and so entertaining
I was hoping we'd get a prime starscream in this line, Side note I'm glad those coneheads rereleases exist, My orders were cancelled 3 seperate times when they first came out
One narrative point I really liked, after all the build-up to D-16 becoming Megatron would be when he'd kill Sentinel, it was actually his choice to let Orion die. Killing Sentinel just sealed the deal.
Sentinels death was a lot darker than I expected out of this film. One of the best scenes in the film, in my opinion at least. What was your favorite scene?
@@darrenheideman2546 the “Arise…Optimus Prime” was an amazing scene! I loved how it echoed the 86 movie with “Arise Rodimus Prime” the whole sequence of Orion falling into the core while Megatron proclaimed himself leader was amazing too.
@@TheBabyCaleb And the new origin for the Autobot and Decepticon names. Design wise, Alpha Trion's alt mode was my favorite. Maybe it will bring more awareness to the Haetae.
I went to the drive in & saw Tf: One w/ my wife & son (casual fans @ best) who both loved it a lot; we are planning to see it again. It was well written & respected SO much lore from many sources. TfCon Baltimore will be so awesome! I signed up to be a volunteer again.
Loved this film. Easily an 11/10 for me, the voice acting, the fight scenes, the animation, the story, the characters, they were all great! Best experience I’ve had in a movie theatre. Also, you probably said this somewhere, but what are your thoughts on Chris Hemsworths Optimus Prime? People will disagree with me but I think he’s nearly as good as Peter Cullen 😅
I would call this movie a "popcorn" flick. That is, one not to be taken seriously and just for fun. I think that they spent a lot of time on silly stuff when that time could have (should have) been spent on what makes the big D tick. ... bleep me did they think about D16's name at all?! Come on! Anyway, they playfully punch each other and are good friends, although Pax gets D into trouble, its not like D couldn't stop the race himself and bail. So IDK... we get to where D wants revenge - this should have been the turning point, he wants to kill, Pax does not. That is where the two must diverge and in a more serous version, that would have been built into who D was, but I just didn't see that. Perhaps we will get that version at some point, but this was not that. It doesn't have to be, it did what it did fine. Also "Till all are One" I did like the line "You don't have the power or the touch!" ... but I was sad that none of the music made it in. :/
I think I disagree with you on that. D-16 is a good nake for Megatron before he becomes Megatron, and the movie (for me) is fun but also has its serious moments. Throughly enjoyed it! But this is just my opinion
Thank you so much for you two cents Rodimus! Me and my brother watched "One" in theaters together, and we were both rather surprised by it. Because of the early marketing, we honestly thought it was going to be lighthearted like others were expecting, but instead both our expectations were completely sold! We we're really impressed by the darkness, the plot twist with Sentinel Prime, and my goodness those premium graphics! My only nitpick was the fact that because it was focused on the main 4, the other cameos were just cameos. So we pray that they'll be making a sequel as well. Until then, I got some more collecting to do!
I saw it with my brother too! It was a lot of fun in the beginning of the film to point out which characters we recognized. It’s a theatre experience I’ll always remember because of that.
I love how this movie was executed and was often left with endless possibilities of how Optimus Prime would’ve handled Unicron if he had survived. And no, the autobot deaths didn’t traumatize me or kill my childhood, it made me grow up
Only until now have I been watching Transformers, and I must say SUPER-GOD MASTERFORCE is easily the best thanks to its character development, mainly that of Ginrai, who, initially, is a truck drivee who just wants to be left alone, but he joins the battle, more out of revenge than helping Cybertrons. As the series progresses, however, Ginrai becomes a respectable leader of them. Now he's one of my favorite Transformers ever.
Any time you do a spoiler talk video you should put the "Spoiler Alert" block from TFWiki in the thumbnail. If you have Origins Jazz you could put him in place of the actual image? But if not, the default image of G1 Jazz's Cybertronian alt mode is fine.
Here was my reaction as a child, and even now, as an adult. Why does the matrix make the first person to touch it leader? Even if it wasn't the intention of the film, that's what it looked like. Secondly, Prime chose Ultra Magnus as leader, but Hot Rod, who was involved in the final moments of the fight, became leader. The writing buired the character. You can pick so many moments to turn against the character that most of us did. As for the third season, it was just continuing of bad writing.
One of my favorite Cheetor moments was in Feral Scream Part 2 when Optimus said "If I can just reach his spark." Cheetor snapped at Optimus & just then I said "easier said than done" not knowing Silverbot was going to say it & when he did I was all "OK I did not know Silverbolt was going to say that." Also in beast machines what episode is it when Rat Trap asks "Are you sure about this?" & Cheetor replies with "As sure as I am transformed." because I forget what episode that is
I've always enjoyed the Transformers cartoons. G1 remains my favorite but Animated and Prime were fun to watch as well. The Bay movies were special effects wonders but weak on story and I did not like the look of the characters. I don't really collect the toys but I do have a few. I have Optimus Prime as a die cast toy, Grimlock, and a die cast version of Opitmal Optimus and that is just prime!
I went to the Fan Event with a friend. The theater were giving out free posters, keychains, and a re-release of the original Transformers comic, which is honestly my favorite amongst the freebies. I’ve been a TF fan since the 2007 film (being 11 at the time and loved it to bits). I started to dip out of the franchise after AoE because the movies were getting more and more bland and tired. It wasn’t until this year that I got back into Transformers and started watching G1 and Prime for the first time. This film went over my moderate expectations. The brotherly bond between Orion and D-16 was precious and I felt for them. They reminded me of me and my friend at times. It’s a bittersweet origin story that flowed very well. I was fangirling to myself from seeing some of my other favorites (mainly Decepticons) during those cameo scenes. Overall, I’d give them film about an 8/10 as well. I would definitely watch it again.
My personal take: depends on the character. For Optimus PRIME, and Soundwave, faceplate all the time, moving or otherwise. (Although the DOTM "Time to find out" with the face plate closing was badass.) Optimus PrimAL, removable. Battle masks, I think they're cool, when used properly. If it's not done right, Optimus Prime with a mouth just looks cursed, like Earthspark, and even TFOne. Orion Pax w/o a mask is fine, but when he goes Prime, he needs the mask.
I saw it!!! Omg! It was so good. I loved the storyline, action and the comedy. The animation was good too. I did like the voices on the characters. But I wish they could have shown more and left some characters alone and let them become the ones we know. But all in all it was very good. And I cannot wait for the 2nd and hopefully the 3rd or 4th. I loved this movie. I did remind me of the first time I saw the original transformers the movie in the theaters. 👍😊
I had this figure for five minutes before I got frustrated with the non-locking abs and put her back in the box. The ER Arcee isn't perfect but all-around I prefer that one. I like how you can also just remove that one's backpack and pretend like it wasn't there.
If we had any post beast machines series I can see Dinobot getting reincarnated as a Dragon by Primus because he'd need a warrior to fight for justice. Ratrap would definitely love to not be third wheel riding with Silver bolt and Black Arachnia.
Did you know the first Barricade figure was part of the micromaster line of toys. I think another thing that throws most off is the Takara overstock being used for early Transformers (hence varied colors of the minicars)...I've heard a few a few made it into retail although it's not confirmed.
I always wondered where his trailer went. Now, with this "subspace storage" thing, it kind of makes sense. I am watching my DVD set for the first time and seeing glitches I forgot about and ones I'd never noticed or seen. Like when Optimus Prime and Megatron fight with the ax and mace. Megatron's fusion cannon suddenly disappears. I kept searching for the missing foreign episode thinking I screwed up, although I know I didn't skip anything. Then I looked it up and found out the explanation. I recently gave up and resumed the DVD.
I was an 80’s kid, grew up with the cartoon and still like the 86 movie best. Hollywood being what it is today, I had low expectations for TF One. I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was pretty good overall. My young son also came away with a good but not great movie review. Gotta say, I couldn’t stand the Alita 1 character. That girl boss thing, which she also did in the Netflix series, really annoyed me. Would’ve been much better had Arcee taken her place and been the good character she was. Still not sure if I like the friendship thing between Prime and Megatron and Megatron’s turn felt too much like Anakin against Obi Wan in SW Episode III. Still better than I feared it would be though. 7.5/10 for me.
While I like the idea of them adopting the Orion Pax and Megatron storyline from IDW’s more than meets the eye, I didn’t like that they protrayed then so bro-ish and jokey in this movie. I wish they made it more like the serious animated style of Bumblebee’s cybertron intro. Hasbro should stop marketing transformers to kids and aim for generation x. The MCU phase 1 was aimed for gen x and it worked like a charm. Younger generations will appreciate the seriousness of it. I didn’t like how megatron was protrayed in this movie and bumblebee was way too much of a comic relief. This isn’t bumblebee.
Enjoyed it quite a bit myself 😊. Quite a few references I recognized. Got a small chuckle from the line “You don’t have the touch or the power.” Possible minor spoiler: It did make me wonder a couple things like who some of the Primes were since they made Zeta and Sentinel two separate characters. And if Quintus Prime existed in that universe. Shout out to Steve. Obviously the most important character in the movie 🙃
This was the best transformers movie I’ve ever seen. Hell, this very well may be my favorite movie of all time! Form the voice acting, to the visuals, and the music. Everything was 10/10
Not a fan of kid CGI movies, so the Pixar facial expressions took some getting used to, but got over it pretty quick & just enjoyed the shit out of the flick. Best since 1986!
I like The Quintessons but I must say, I prefer the Primus origin. I like to think that Primus did create The Transformers but The Quintessons took over and either co-opted or built upon his original creations, almost like finding his blueprints, so to speak.
