@@user-bg7vn4de5u thank you 😊 just moved to different town and have lots of stuff to do, but next video will be 1000km (now 1200km) review 😅 trying to get that out finally in next two weeks 😊
@@MiamiElectrix from settings you can change it so that throttle is always 100% power, or use the pedal assist levels to change power %. You can set the wanted power levels to pedal assist numbers. I use 1-3 option. Meaning there are 3 assist levels. Also had to set the highest level to 100% because it was something lower like 86% or something. With 1-9 option 9 has like 98% as default. I hope this helps. Simply put change tire size to 22" to get right speed shiwn on display and set the power % levels on the pedal assist option you use to such that highest actually has 100%. Or you can take the level out from use when using throttle only and you will always have 100% max power with throttle.
@@MiamiElectrix 48km/h is max speed for me and if I remember right it is close to max speed for everyone. Maybe you can get 50km/h when you have rear wheel up and try full throttle without actually riding. You can get better range with different tires as shown on my latest video, but it will not get you more speed than that.
@@MiamiElectrix tire size 22" gives correct speed compared to gps. My km/h max speed setting did nothing, so at least on my bike it did not change max speed. Break-throttle quick switch thing drops max speed to 22km/h when you have correct tire size. With the factory setting of 24" it shows around 24-25, but with that size setting speed is shown wrong.
With the inaccuracy of the speedometer, if there is a way to change the size of the tires in the settings, toggle around with that until you find the right size. Should fix that discrepancy.
@@m.xn_j.xn09 I try to make video on weekend and put link here. Been busy and weather has been bad, so bike has been in storage for a while 😅 but i try to make a video on weekend for you. You need to see how i put it together, or is it ok if I just film the front fenders top closely and try to explain? Just has longer screws and lots of nuts and washers as spacers. This fender has 2 of the screw holes just in right place aligned with 2 holes on the bike at that spot 😊
@@m.xn_j.xn09 no M6 screws fit the holes. Got same size as came with fender but longer. Then some washers and nuts to make up the space between screw holes on bike and the fender.
@@zane___k7333 thanks for the tip... I think I need to do a little cleaning then 😅 also my breakpads are kind of destroyed as the back break got stuck once and noticed it after over 5km 😅 Ordered new pads, so changing those soon.
@@zane___k7333 was like 35 euros for 4 pairs of pads from aliexpress EKX official, so not too bad even if I need to change twice a year or something. Front breakpads were ok but back had worn like 2mm or so... 😅
@@rcplaytime thanks 😊👍👍 It is great bike for the money. Some little things I do not like, but would buy one if I did not have it already. I will make another tire review and 1000km review hopefully soon. I bought these new ones as I thought I need something a bit more suitable for dirt roads and tarmac as my riding is mostly tarmac but the street tires did not do too well on dirt and gravel. Pic of the tires on my last community post. They seem best from these 3 I have, but still only 10km testing done.
@@P4RXY I think the motor will always have the same watts. I do not think the limiter changes used watts either (I am not too good with that stuff, but would assume so). Motor will be 500W (2000W label on side). I guess you are asking from legal point for watts limit to your country?
@@Usva78 yea because I saw bikes that have a top speed of 50 km/h but when you limit to 25 km/h it reduces the watts to 250. How much did you buy it? Did you know other bikes with the same design( this ebike as the same design as a motorcycle)? It is secure to buy on alibaba?
@@P4RXY I am not sure about the 500->250W thing. I would ask EKX on their official facebook page about it. I bought it from reliable Alibaba vendor with around 1400€ including delivery and taxes. My first video has the info on pinned comments. I add link to the video and vendor below. I just messaged them on Alibaba app and told what I wanted and asked price and delivery time. They had some at EU warehouse so got mine in a week. Sunny Ge that answered message helped a lot and handled everything for me. Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z4nhms7-Bp0.htmlsi=M_8-qoWNF4rDx0PB Vendor on Alibaba I used: x.alibaba.com/Ax4ZmR?ck=minisite I have made more videos on the bike and made reddit post too: www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/s/1oyfLCtB7U Freego x2 looks totally the same, but has way more power and speed. So not road legal here where I live. Also costs double.
@@jakemiyamiya7113 go to the vendor on this link and send message asking about bike you want. In this case EKX X-21 and tell where you live. Ask price and delivery time too. She answered really quick and even on weekends. x.alibaba.com/Ax2knS?ck=minisite
@@HuaaR you will not like pedaling this too much. You do not need to either with the big battery it has. It is possible but if you rather pedal more, then I suggest getting maybe the X-20. I am 190cm too and can pedal ok for a while, but the ergonomics for that are not too good. Size is otherwise ok, but 190cm is quite at the upper end of height that you should have. Pedaling knees come up quite high and now that I changed to street tires with lower profile, you can feel what few cm will do. Lets see if I can make some video of the pedaling from different angle for the 1000km review. Might take few weeks as I have lots to do, but I try to make the video quite soon as it is only 20km away now 😊👍
@@hvg7351 for me delivery was for free and at that moment 2 tires with inner tubes with delivery was like 40€ with all the discounts I got, if I remember correctly. You might want to check if there is other vendor there that delivers free to your country? 80€ for 2 tires is not horrible but I do not know how long these last, so if they wear quickly, then it is a bit much I guess.
@@hvg7351 that is what I was thinking. On gravel it did not feel good but dry tarmac it is awesome tire compared to original tire on the bike. Good to hear your insights. I did order other tire too so lets see how that works. I need tire that handles dirt roads a bit better at the moment so might change too 👍👍
@@mannymonroy remember to choose the tire or tire and innertube. Default is just the inner tube and thats why the price seems super low. a.aliexpress.com/_EGlaoTH
Because these are a low profile 4x20, you should have more torque, like all the gears are one lower setting, but top speed should be less and it will change the speedometer. At least some ebikes, the speed can be changed for lower profile to correct it. It may have come set at 24 inch and correct now at like 22 inch. Because it now rolls easier, I wonder how it may change the battery range for the bike? The tire needs to turn more per unit driven, but if easier?
@@putteslaintxtbks5166 I had to correct the size to 22 from 24 for the original tires to get accurate reading on display. But now it seems almost correct compared to gps. The faster acceleration might be due to added torque. Lets see if Im able to test the batterylife on these in near future 😊👍
@@michaelkinc2336 like some viewer commented, these tires are 20x4 20 rim, 4 width, but lower profile. So not completely 20x4 as some reviews in aliexpress said. These do fit but I would not try 20x3. Innova has street tires with 20x4 1/4 size so they are lityle bit wider even. Reviews say those do fit... but if I remember right they only hold 1.4 BAR pressure.
Hi mate thank you for your video review iam still looking at buying a set but crap uk weather and pot holes in the road might not be any good to us them
@@revparsons3tl these might not be so good for me either as there are these gravel roads I like to ride 😅 on tarmac they are exellent and suspension takes care of bounces... loose gravel is not fun 😅
@@ProdbySpk3 legal speed limit for a e-bike in Finland is 25km/h so testing with that was the idea. With full speed you get average speed close to 40km/h and range would be maybe 50km. That is a good estimate. With smaller and lighter rider you can easily add range to these and even the temperature affects it. So it is hard to do just one range test that gives you results for all cases 😊
@@armyca thats how I was thinking it but read reviews saying they were 20x3. You are correct 👍👍😊 But with the lower profile should I not see reduction in speed when the electric motor has max rpm? Or maybe the reduction in drag or whatever the word is, nullifies the reduction in speed 🤔😅
@@revparsons3tl I will make a little video from material I have now. These tires lower the bike a little or so it feels. As for 190cm guy like me it is not the best thing. Someone shorter might actually like that change. It rolls smoothly on tarmac but hard tires make it annoying on rocky places as the bike does bounce. Akso these tires have huge difference in turning grip on asphalt. It really make maneuvering a lot different... but I make a little video so you guys can see and hear how the tires work 😊👍 it will be up tomorrow the latest.
8:38 I can see a problem there. You need to remove washers under caliper so your brake pads will touch brake rotor on full surface... now you can see on rotor brake wear mark too narrow...
I will try that! I have noticed it does touch only partially... lets see how it goes. I think this is the way it came from the factory as I have tried to keep count on how the washers have been when removing the caliber 😅 Thanks!
@Usva78 yeah, it is like that from the factory. I had 4 washers on rear and front calipers... rear doesn't need any, front need only 2 (one for each bolt)
Km/h is used here in Finland so on my videos I use that. After almost 900km and adjusting stuff I have found out that max speed with my weight is around 48km/h that is 30mph. It might be more with lighter rider and smoother tires, but I do not think there will be too much more in this bike to give in form of speed. Original tires need tire size setting on display set to 22" to give about accurate reading. On thus video it is on default 24".
I would just send message to the vendor from app or page and ask. Tell them where you live and what bike you would like. Also ask if they ship there, what will the price be and how much time will it take. Sunny Ge in that company seems to answer quickly and can make the order ready for you with the right bike and all. For me it went like that. I asked, she answered and offered to put the order together. There were many options on same bike at that vendors page, so that was best way plus got the info on price and delivery verified by asking 😊👍
Oh and that is using Vendor that is on pinned comment here. Ask from them straight. Mine came from their Polish warehouse and I think they have warehouse in USA too, but if yhey are out of stock it comes from China and takes longer. But you get good customer service by messaging Sunny Ge on that Vendors page in Alibaba.
I need to check them all in the evening after work, but I will make a list then. All working well, latest change was tire size as that 24 that was factory setting is too big. If I remember right 22" gives right speed for display. But I will check them all later 😊👍
P1 in km P2 48V P3 I have 1-3 and use power values 40-60-100, so I have on level 1 max speed of 25km/h and on 3 full power. P4 22" gives quite accurate speed, maybe 2% too much. P5 01 P6 63km/h (max) P7 28.0 as that should be controller max (someone said it would be 29). Default is 20, so might actually do something. I did not notice anything. Those might be tge most important I guess. Works well and have not played around with those too much. To get most out if the power, either use full power mode for throttle or set your OAS values so that at least the highest takes 100%. Default is not 100 in any of the PAS settings, if I remember right.
@Usva78 thank you very much for taking your time to look it up. This helps to set up the bike when I get it. It comes from China as there was no stock left in the EU warehouse
Aside from your great bike video - Finland is stunningly beautiful. In the summer would be constant outdoors and on a lake (with tons of insect spray :-) Been to Luosto a couple of times.
That is true and now that I often choose bike instead of car, I see a lot more of it 😊👍 This bike has been a great thing in many ways. Seen a lot of places that I have missed driving by and got more fresh air in a month than I normally get in a year 😅 If all goes well, I will make a roadtrip in countryside and see places where I never went before 😊 And I will make a video of it ofcourse 😄 oh and insects do not bother while riding... but if you stop in middle of forest... those damn monquitos do find you ... almost instantly 😂
My bike came from warehouse in Poland. Back then they had 3 bikes left there, so I got one of those and it took like 6 days to arrive to Finland 😊 From China it comes by train and takes 2 months so I was lucky 😅
@@tusimp8860 x.alibaba.com/Awp7nK?ck=minisite Just send Sunny Ge message there and she will answer any questions. I messaged straight with Alibaba app and told her what bike I wanted. If they have those at EU warehouse it comes fast, from China it does take a lot more time.
I have practically the same electric bike EKX X20, the choice of purchase was made due to the availability of the luggage rack and mudguards. Tires have been changed and the front sheet and rear shock absorber have also been changed in addition, I separately installed turn signals and improved the visible rear light. I have an extra battery on the luggage rack, my idea is to start traveling with it In Estonia and Latvia, maybe also in Lithuania and to drive longer distances, then two batteries are needed. I did some test rides to test it out durability of batteries. I speak in three languages in the videos, Estonian, English and Russian, I speak in Russian because my relatives, who are ethnic Estonians, live in Siberia and the new generation unfortunately no longer knows Estonian. Estonia also has a legal speed limit for electric bicycles and electric scooters 25 km/h and the speedometer of my X20 e-bike also shows the wrong speed, when compared to real GPS speed. It is interesting to see in your videos that cyclists in Finland have more privileges over cars or so it seems to me.
I need to check your videos later 👍👍 sounds really interesting 😊 I was planning a little 100km+100km roadtrip this summer too, but lets see how the weather goes when that time is 😅 I was also thinking about x20 for long time, but liked more how x21 looks 😅 I guess you can pedal better with x20 too. I think biggest difference is in suspension and break plates are different too if I recall right. Then on other side x20 can be pedaled and has that rack + mudguards. Both are great looking bikes 😍 Need to check your videos. That extra battery must take you far with pedaling and even without I would guess. In Finland you have more rights on bikes than on motor vehicles. Pedestrians have more, but riding bike lanes and crossing roads on those lanes often give you right of way. On normal roads you are almost the same as cars with rules and rights.
@@Usva78 The battery of the X21 electric bike is longer and can actually be used there to be a battery with a capacity of 35 Ah, X20 is the place for battery installation shorter and the battery is also shorter. I should also "officially" there must be a battery with a capacity of 35 Ah, but I doubt it very much, I think there is still a 30Ah battery in my X20 on an electric bike. And in general, I do not trust the stories of the Chinese, that the battery has Samsung cells, I have seen many batteries that where there should be Samsung cells in the battery, but in reality are the elements of the noname
Yes, I saw X20 sold with batteries between like 20-35Ah. The samsung shells are a bit better than normal ones. If I remrmber right, samsung ones could take 1000 charges before starting to go lower capacity and the normal chinese cells could take around 600+... sounds like a big deal on bikes lifespan, but as you said cant really trust them 😅 I bet the russian telegram channel would know if I knew enough russian to ask 😂 I mainly look at pictures there and if interesting stuff comes I start translating messages 😅 Bikes are tuned brand there, but basics might be the same. Im subben on both Syccyba channels as those I could find, but not anything with original EKX
@@Usva78 Syccyba Impulse is a brand name for sale in Russia, I have not seen that these models are assembled in Russia, these X20 and X21 are still imported from China to Russia. Gunai MX25 (battery capacity 25 Ah) sold in Europe The difference between Syccuba Impulse X20 and X21 and EKX X20 -21 is very small, sometimes the Syccuba Impulse X20 - X21 has a different saddle and accordingly for Slavic originality, LED lights are sometimes added to the battery grilles, that sparkle and shine like a Jewish Christmas tree, I think its ridiculous. The X21 model probably has a good and long soft saddle, I also changed my X20 to a bigger and softer saddle, to be comfortable to ride long distances and indeed, this saddle is pretty good on my X20, not even comparable to the original saddle Oh well, sometimes SI models are also equipped with an alarm system, but it is installed locally by local dealers in Russia, because the Russians steal everything and constantly, for example also in Estonia persons serving a criminal sentence are mostly all Russians, because they cheat and steal constantly.
Yes there are some customisation and I guess different versions of bikes (5? One with 2 motors) too. They do have lots of x21 and x20 related infofmation on Syccyba community. It is related enough to bd useful for EKX bikes too 😊👍 Saddle of x21 is good, but for my ass it is still around 70km in one day where it starts to feel bad. It might be that I pedal on my way home and thats no good or I might be a bit heavy. I have thought about buying a seatcover for more comfortable ride as I ride so long trips. Oh watched one of your videos and had lots of questions about chargers, car carger adapter and your setup for camera to get so clear sound while riding 😅 interesting stuff 😊👍
Thanks 😊👍 Yes it looks more powerfull than it is 😅 Still moves my heavy ass quite well, but it isno Sur-ron 👍 Specs say 2kW but at least some russian owners of the same bike say it is 500W and I have seen pics of that being written inside the motor 😅 Lets see what is in there when I open my bikes motor to add some lithium grease on the gears...
@@Usva78 My current bike has a 15ah battery, but they sent me a second 15ah, so looking forward to connect both or figure something out like that. Have you done a battery capacity test? I am sure that you wonder yourself! Thanks
Thanks 😊👍 I have not compared it to Sur-ron, but I think it is about same size. Need to remember that power on this one is fraction of surron as it is just e-bike (500W (1300+W peak) motor and not 2kW as adverticed) Now that I have been riding and testing 500km I have noticed that max speed for guy my size is about 46-47km/h (30mph) with full battery and I would guess someone half my size could get more out of it. I am 190cm tall and bike is still good size but pedalling is not too easy for somelne this tall. Fun bike and quality seems great for the price. Going to make 1000km rdview this summer, but for now it has been great to ride on roads at least 😊 I try to put link to size pic of this bike. images.app.goo.gl/MnUMw3Za4Yh33QiD9
I would remove sticker with gps tracking, you basically giving heads up to thieves locate it and remove it, before stealing, my friend bike was stolen and not located because he had also sticker, gps tracker was left at bike place after its been removed
Good point, you are right 😊👍 If after seeing the sticker, the bike thief still decides to steal it then it is not so good thing to have there... at the moment it is more like deterrent and does same job with or without actual tracker.
