When I heard the words, “ I am not a mechanic” 😂😂 you had me laughing hard. You might not be a mechanic but your more than a cabinet maker and computer tech. I will call you an all rounder. For not being a mechanic well done and I mean that. I really enjoyed your video and effort. You should be proud of your achievements. 👏👏🙌
Guys well done👏👏. Sitting hear on my lounge eating a hot cross bun I was feeling sorry for you guys thinkings if only they knew what I knew lol. I got to hand it to you guys for effort and determination. I can see you had all the tools out for this job. Most would give up at this point but you guys were determined to get it done. These jobs can be difficult at times and may require heat to the bolts and a lot of disturbing the piece if you know what I mean. Congratulations on your success. Have a great easter weekend 🙌
You're a braver man than me, diving that deep into the motor. Although, I'd probably get carried away and end up doing it if I got started. Hope to catch up soon mate.
Nice to see some fishing. That looks a lot better than around Perth :). Remember the next door neighbor Alan had a shack at Grey. We have been there some decades ago. You need a windsock on the camera for the mic. Those furry things, stop the wind noise.
Helow, i have the same vehicle with the engine how ever i have noticed that it takes time to shift gears its automatic gear box, and when i did some research i have noticed that i have only one cable from the trottole yours have two, i want to know what is the use of the other one and how can i connect it? Does it go to the transmission
Sorry mate, mine was a manual gearbox not automatic, and I sold it about a year ago but don't think throttle cable had anything to do with the gearbox. Cheers James
Hey, that's a sweet ride! I've been look at a few of these that turn up on Cycle Trader that are near me and for really low prices, too. I've seen more 1800s than 1500, and that's really neither here nor there when you're looking for a ride like this with a frugal mindset. There are a good number of them, so not just some guy selling his lemon onto an unsuspecting victim. Hearing yours rumble right to life with an authority makes me really consider taking the plunge. Thanks for sharing, brother!
Thanks mate! I'm loving the bike, especially the engine, lots of low down torque, it's not super fast but just pulls without effort, and is so very comfortable! Hope you find one for the right price soon! Cheers!
Great Looking Bike,Been riding metric's over 40 years,You got a good reliable Kawi,Myself, VTX 1800,It's nice to have a pink slip in your pocket,Spazz in Cali.
That’s a shitty mess, how many kms has the vehicle on it ? Where you running an EGR delete module or blanking plate? Couldn’t see an oil catch can. Thanks for the vid 👍🏻
That’s an awful lot of hard work only to leave out the worse part, the head. If you could only see the crud that builds up in there! I have yet to find a way to clean it out properly (not with chemicals) that will get it truly clean. Although I did see on YT a video about cleaning it with a walnut type sand blaster that really worked. It looks like there is an attachment that fits across the inlet to each cylinder head that allows the spray to clean inside and be vacuumed out immediately. The tricky thing is making sure the valves are closed when you do it.
My 2008 Pajero completely lost power on a 300km trip to the country. I stopped and started the engine to try to clear any electronic fault in the cars ECU. The car limped into Bendigo and I could hear the detonation in the cylinders of the engine. Thinking outside the box, one sign that the EGR valve is sticking as the exhaust gas cools the engine cylinder and if the exhaust gas is absent, the temperature in the engine cylinder rises causing Detonation. The last time this happened, I was towing a tandem trailer full of bricks in peak hour traffic in torrential rain and the engine died. Mitsubishi could not find any error in the diagnostics and now its happened again one year later. Due for a service. My initial thoughts to remove and completely clean engine intake manifold, EGR Valve and intake throttle body. Love this car. If the engine dies, the Diesel is gone and replaced with a Chevrolet LT4 V8 and piss this problematic underpowered engine off to the scrap dealers where it belongs.
Wow, haven't seen that kind of problem before. Did you get the error codes that it had? I replaced the egr valve and servo quite cheaply from ebay with no more egr codes now, apparently the servo is known to die and produce fault codes etc
Not that you can tell that hes even racing anyone, but if a vstar even beats a scout 60, then somethings wrong. My scout bobber dusts vstars without even trying, and that was when it was stock. Vstars just arent built like that.
