I have a core muscle (recurrent) injury, as well as hip injuries and live in the Kansas City Metro. This is the only facility in the region that treats my condition, yet I was denied care by one of the doctors interviewed, who somehow insisted that 6 years of physical therapy was not enough. Actually, he claimed I was "noncompliant" and refusing to do physio when I'd done 90 visits the first several years after my initial injury (which was diagnosed at KU) and was in PT at the time. They "fired" me as a patient with NO GROUNDS TO DO SO. When I proved I was in physio at the time, KU's patient relations department head, Rebecca Moberg, shot me several letters with various other accusations. She claimed I was "running 4 miles a day" when I was descending into complete immobility (I'm now housebound and have to use a walker, but still am given no mercy). Previously this department had the audacity to claim I was fired for doing something in their office when I was living 500 miles away. I promise you, I'm not jogging nor can I bilocate! So, my question (which I also pose daily to Kansas lawmakers) is why I am denied care and allowed to descend into complete disability, treated like a second class citizen in my own city and state? Meanwhile the doctor who refused to even do a physical exam on a previously diagnosed sports hernia patient gets his son immediate top treatment? Is my life so negligible in comparison? Am I not equal, and does my life not matter? My family's? I'm told I'll have to travel and cut into our retirement for treatment solely because, as it turns out, it is LEGAL in this nation to fire patients for no reason at all --EVEN if the office doing the firing is the only office in the city/metro/state/region that offers care for a rare injury set (hips + core muscles, as mentioned right in the video!)! I've since met other patients who've been given the same routine, for different injuries and conditions; apparently KU makes a habit of this behavior with Kansas residents. Mercy for us is only available at church. We may be equal under federal and state law, but KU acts as judge, jury and executioner for families around here.

I cannot believe some ortho docs take foot fractures so lightly, when an accurate midfoot injury diagnosis is crucial for proper treatment and recovery of foot and gait stability. Mine did not even suggest physical therapy after my cast removal.
I would suggest to the one male doctor that he has failed to comprehend the purpose of the 4th of July fireworks: the 4th of July celebrates Freedom, and with Freedom comes Responsibility. This failure of comprehension is sadly common. A person cannot celebrate Responsibility by handinng it off to another person. It is celebrated by learning how to Be responsible, and to be Competent. Do you want your child to grow up irresponsible and incompetent? To the female doctor (nurse?) who described the grafting process and OR, thanks. I saw many at Brook Army Medical Center who had grafts (and other injuries), and heard about how their injuries happened, but little about how they were healed. Many thanks for the work you do!

Hello, I am a recent user of CPAP machine. I was diagnosed with OSA in Dec 2023 when I found it very difficult to sleep, waking up gasping for breath. My sleep test AHI score showed 44. I was advised to immediately go in for using the CPAP machine. I had difficulty initially with the nose mask & leakages, but after changing over to Nasal pillow mask, it has been much better.
