Some years ago I went to visit a friend in hospital. I was well dressed that day, wearing white pants and a white short-sleeved shirt and was carrying a clipboard, as I'd just been visiting a nearby architect on business. I found it surprising and amusing that hospital staff automatically assumed I was her doctor (they actually asked if I was)- simply because I looked the part and was carrying a clipboard and a pen.
I remember being on a date, we were buzzed we tried to get though every door, one was open went three stories up thee stairs, we both said now what, as we kept walking, we reached the Casino's security section, all we could do is duck down as they were busy watching the security cameras monitors, as we couldn't go back, so we took another another door and got into the empty theater, with our drinks and cigarettes, as a security guard did check the empty theater 4x kept saying I swear a few are in here, as we tried not to laugh, we did not do anything wrong, just being stupid when I was 22 yrs old. As we got through the theater door, we did make sure we folded matches to get back out, as security was more concerned watching Casino floors, as 04:30 came around we got out ok, and not arrested, but still had to duck down past the security again, both hearts we're racing, we made it out . The most fun date I ever had, as the guy was a complete handsome hunk, w/o getting in my pants, I do belive he thought I was a bit wild, as it was my idea to go through any Casino doors, cause he was scratching his head like "OH Boy I could have been arrested with this wild chick". Best time I had in my lifetime, least we cleaned up our mess on the 3rd balcony where there was a trash bin in the empty theater.. But the only way out was in, and boy oh boy gald we did not get arrested. Long time ago folks, sure wouldn't be able to do that now days.

I know this is really old but I wonder if anyone has built using 3,510 regular sized transistors, an A0 sized 6502 that with a sprinkling of LEDs could actually run 6502 code just like the real thing. I used to do operations and IT for a small call center... still don't know if this guy was malicious, red-team, or legit... but an alleged TimeWarner/Charter guy wanted in to do something with our network stuff. The front desk lady stopped him and called me (the local IT guy) and when I asked her about his ID, she said he didn't have any kind of company ID. So we told him together, "sorry pal, without a workorder from our engineers and valid ID, you're not going past the lobby."
I own my own camera and network security company, I have worn many hats, like worked for AT&T/Comcats/Xfinity(Same company, different shirts) and many times, I walked right through metal detectors, with police and security around, because I was there to fix something. All I did was hand them a work order, It was never confirmed and I walked through with my tool bag. This is one instance and I have so many more! I have always stated the same message you are stating, as I am going back to school for Cybersecurity. It is time to fix the basics! Most hackers are attacking our lazy past.
