I started my photography journey with a passion for wildlife and landscapes while camping in Australia and while I spend most of my professional life in the studio photographing people, it's time I got back to spending more time in the outdoors. This channel will feature a collection of landscape, nature and wildlife photography videos along with some camping & 4WD product reviews and general footage of the stunning places I visit in Australia.
love the build, ive got a mq aswell and wanna build a setup similar to this aswell, just wondering what materials you used and how much it cost you, yours has the quality of the fitmy4wd and i love it cheers
Such a great setup wouldhate to think how much it's cost you for the whole setup including the car. I'm a bit nervous because we watch a lot of 4x4 camping RU-vid videos including yours and I'm not sure if my wife is going to enjoy the way some do. So don't really want to over capitalize and it doesn't get used. We have been camping many times, in a smooth tent, very basic setup. Then we bought a all-wheel drive Kluger. And brought a very large tent that become more of a hassle putting up and putting down and took the fun away. Send my Idea would be to do some light 4x4 tracks have fun, then maybe a cabin or caravan tent site. With eskies, gas grill, of f the ground pitfire etc. I have seen a few Suzuki Jimnies with an anaconda awning attached to the roof rack that then joins onto a 3 man half dome tent. That might work for us as well. Lightweight. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with the back of the Triton when I first pick it up as we've already blown our budget. I need more then a tubliner, I have seen some second hand hard covers. But do i want 2nd hand on a brand new car.
amazing, the Milky Way footage is incredible, thanks for sharing this one. Glad I stumbled on your channel, keen to check your other videos. Notice you have a triton too 🙂 Subscribed ✌🏻
Hey Cam. Great video of all your Triton mods. Been looking all around on mod ideas for my new Triton. I just happen to stumble upon your channel. Thanks and hope to catch up one day.
Very impressive. How much does the car now weigh? The Triton is on my list of replacement vehicles but I am concerned that with the addition of all the goodies there may be a need for a suspension upgrade. Thanks for any information you can provide,
I actually haven't weighed it yet Greg. This Exceed has about a 945kg payload and what I have put in so far wouldn't come anywhere near that. I never have more than two people including myself when fully loaded up either. Also, it rides a lot better now than it did when the tub was empty. I'm not doing any serious 4wd tracks at this stage so I don't feel the need to upgrade the suspension yet.
@@CameraCampingAustralia Thanks for getting back to me. Given that my set up would only have to cater for touring (my "hard core" off road days are behind me) the Triton looks like a very attractive proposition.
Great job and informative. My only suggestion with your light bar is is to use a rubber grommet on the back of the snorkel run the wire down into the air box and use another grommet to seal it up where it comes out for the connection to the battery. That way its hidden and looks neater. You can also use a quick connection plug if you every need to take the rack off or to prevent a tree branch hooking the wire. Looking forward to the next update .
Thanks Craig! Yeah I was initially planning on running the cable up the back of the snorkel but the supplied wiring harness was a little short and I didn't want to go to the trouble of splicing in some more cable. I have since tidied it up with the Stedi Wiring Concealer tubing which looks much better and will prevent anything from hooking the cable. The sticky cable tie tabs I used initially were just a temporary measure. I'm hoping to do a bit more of an in-depth video on this light soon.
that some mighty nice flying mate,im in Brissy and fly around here to film the beauty of nature.found your channel while browsing the tubes for colour grading tutorial.so glad i did find it.have a Happy Easter and a wonderful day.much love to you and your family 🤗💕
great Place I have some dumb questions for you. I am from NZ and do landscape photograhy....so I would not be able to camp there as would not have the equipment ...where would be the best place to stay so I could commute in and out from Lake Nuga Nuga. What sort of car should I hire that would be ok for here but also driving around in general. Any other gems of wisdom would be great to
Apologies for the late reply Steve. There isn't too much around that area in terms of accommodation. The closest small town is Rolleston which is about 86mm away from Nuga Nuga and has a hotel / motel plus a caravan park which I believe has some self contained units. Another option would be this farm stay - www.arcadiavalleyescape.com It's only 44km from the lake. In good weather you could easily drive around in a 2WD vehicle as long as you took it easy on the dirt roads. An AWD hire car like a Mitsubishi Outlander or a Nissan X-Trail would be good options. If there has been a decent amount of rain at the time you are there, the dirt roads may be quite difficult to drive even in a 4WD but it doesn't rain out there very much at all.
Watch Steve from Australian 4x4. He made some custom drawers for his 200 series. I also have a Triton and have copied his design. I am nearly finished mine. Just carpet to go then electrical starts. Cheers Clint
Wow absolutely spectacular. As a first nations person I can see and feel that this is a story place. You have captured country so beautifully and between the landscape, animals, water and vegetation, the colours come together in palettes that only be by design from God. Loved every minute, you've done a great job.
Great video mate , we cant wait to get back to Aus , my wife wants to go where you are .she loves nature and you are done a great job . Your drone footage is amazing , what sort of equipment are you using? We have started watching all your videos and find it so relaxing .Keep safe and enjoy your adventures ,....Kev from northern Thailand
Thanks very much Kevin! Actually the drone I used for that footage was just the entry level DJI Mavic Mini which only records a max of 2.7k so it was upsampled to 4K in this video. The rest of the footage was shot with either my Fuji X-T3 or X-T4. Hope you and your wife can get back down under soon! Cheers, Cam.
Thanks for the video! I'm taking delivery of a 2020 Fiat Fullback in a couple of days, which is mechanically identical to your Triton. Have you fitted the Carryboy canopy yet? I've ordered an SO56. It looks nice, can [supposedly] take the weight of a roof tent and occupants, and I like the combination of one sliding window with an exterior lock, and a lift-open window on the other side. If you've taken delivery, I'd really appreciate any insight you can offer. It's not too late for me to cancel the deal if there's a big problem! Thanks a lot!
Hi @marcj ct thanks for the comment! Yeah the Carryboy canopy has been fitted and I've been using it for a few months now and so far it's been great. I ended up going with two lift-up windows as that gives me the best access from either side and I've had no issues at this stage. The staff at Carryboy in Brisbane were really great to deal with and I have no hesitation in recommending them or their product. I've now pretty much fitted out the back for camping and I'm hoping to do the Phase 2 video in the next few weeks.
@@CameraCampingAustralia phew. Thanks so much for the feedback. It's a big decision, and today was probably the last day I had to rethink it. The dual upward-opening windows are great, but we may get a dog in the next year or two, so having both window options is more versatile for our needs. I look forward to the next video! Thanks again!
This is great. I’ve recently bought a 2017 MQ Triton and I’m in process of customising it and this has given me some brilliant guidance. You’ve just earned yourself a new subscriber! Looking forward to seeing more about your car!!
