This salmon season is in full swing with Mike and Jennifer on a salmon tender bringing you footage of the great Alaskan fisherman in their element. The people that help bring you your salmon are hard at work this season. When the second fishing season started in 2022, we had no idea my dad would be the third member of our fishing operation. We had the experience of a lifetime fishing the waters of Alaska for red salmon.
Oops, we were on the Northern Jaeger tendering salmon for the cannery in town. We did this route for the tener season of our 45 day contract. It was a blast and exhausting all at the same time.
This Mt. doesn't look like much until you stand near the base of it and see the knife-edged trail up the front side. Dangerous and scary! Home sweet home!😮
A native language is the essence of it's peoples culture. When I lived in New Mexico, I had a chance to speak to Pueblo tribal leaders responsible for education of their youth. Their complaint was that they had no written language or dictionary to preserve their cultural language, and every year less and less of their people speak their language, and youth are not learning the language. They are afraid of losing their language, and therefore, their cultural identity. Speak your native language, share it publicly as you currently do, and make sure your children understand the importance of their language to their culture, and make them learn and use the language for a lifetime. I hope you don't have these problems with your indigenous groups in Alaska as the "now" much smaller remaining tribes in New Mexico are facing. I look forward to your future videos. Many thanks.... Joe
We try. I knew only Supiaq (soup-p-ak) until I was enrolled into school. Then it was all English after that. I will make more of an effort to keep it going with my grandkids
Que material é entregue no saco branco ? Enquanto os peixes ficam fora da agua esperando que um cara somente fazer tudo, esperando que ele os empurre para dentro dagua !
This is a great channel. The chance to watch native Alaskan fishing and all that goes along with professional and subsistence fishing. I look forward to your future videos. With great respect... Joe
We had never done salmon tendering before and we jumped at the chance to put that on our resume. We saw some incredible people doing what they do best, fish.
On the last night of fish pick up I made a shepherds pie. We had to travel 12 hours round trip to pick up a food order from another tender. It was the best tasting unexpected dinner for the last night. I didn't know we were done until we were at the last pick up. Beacon Hill was the last one of the year and we shared our dinner. Best time!
Yes, they work hard for their seasonal catch. We are the ones to pick up their catch and transport it to the cannery for processing. We work odd hours. Last weekend we picked up the last delivery at 11:30 at night. It was a beautiful sunset delivery.
That's awesome you all are working on the church! I remember when Joe and I were out there that it definitely needed some care. Excited to see updates :)
If the village finds it difficult to raise funds mabye try doing a gofundme, I've seen the Orthodox community come together well for fixing churches and making new ones 👍 and I would gladly share and be willing to give some money to that sort of cause
@mikeandjenniferlindberg9585 okay, I would suggest saying it's a Orthodox church in the title so people can see it when they search that on gofundme. I shared it around to some Orthodox people who have decent social media followings so hoping they share it. God bless.
When you cut up beach wood it is a little different than forest wood. On this saw if you have the chain too tight it will bind up. Every saw is different. Thanks for your thoughts on the video.
