**SPOILER COMMENT BELOW** • • • • • • I just saw this movie last night, and when Anxiety started going a mile a minute and Riley had her panic attack I absolutely LOVED how she used her five senses to calm herself down as all the emotions hugged her sense of self. My boyfriend didn’t even notice that because while he’s experienced anxiety, he’d never had a panic attack before and, euhhh, I’ve experienced multiple and have learned to use that coping mechanism from therapy (🥲). I loved that detail because Riley, at the ripe age of 13, IRL probably would’ve had a worse outcome since teenagers don’t usually know how to self-regulate to that extent. But showing it on the screen is such an important thing for adolescents who are in that age and can see and subconsciously store that knowledge to model in their own lives.
THEY WERE IN SILENT FILMS TOGETHER IN THE 1920s AND THEY WERE IN A FILM SONS OF THE DESERT AND THEY WERE IN A FILM LAUGHING GRAVY AND THEY WERE IN A FILM HELP Makers AND THEY WERE IN A FILM THE LIVE GHOST AND THEY WERE IN A FILM WAY OUT WEST AND STAN LAUREL DIED AT THE AGE OF 65 YEARS OLD AND OLIVA NORVEL HARDY DIED FROM A STROKE IN 1957 AND THEY WERE THE FUNNIEST COMEDY TEAM THAT EVER LIVED 😔
Personally, I think this feels a lot more like an Oswald cartoon than a Mickey one, from the thickness of the lines, to the humor, to just the plot in general. It reminds me a lot of the lost cartoon Harem Scarem, which is actually where the joke with the drunken rhea came from
Raquel Welsh really was an absolute gorgeous lady had the biggest crush on her as a kid. Now as an older fella there are very few female celebrities and the like with her grace and talent.
