My father used to listen to this era of country and now that I have aged a little I understand why. The singers of this era were legendary. Can have a son about loving a woman without it being vulgar like todays music.
HWJ's best song ever. It still rings true 43 years later. I love the fact that Hank was never afraid to change up the lyrics a bit but still preserve the spirit of the song when he sang it. Hank Williams Jr. Is always my favorite Country Music Artist of all time. Hoozah HWJr.
I was in & of county a lot.👊💥🍻 My ex asked me once "What do you do in there?" I said "I sleep." She looked at me crazy and said "How do you sleep in there?" "Ah without you 🤏🤏🤏 in my ear, it's real quiet." 😅 man she was pissed.
The Nashville Edition actually did the Background Vocals on this song and album. This what true country sounds like.. If only we could go back in time!
I think of Trump possibly running the country from the jailhouse instead of the white house when I think of this song. Someone should make a parody. "He's in the jailhouse now, he's in the jailhouse now. We told him once or twice, quit cheating taxes and telling lies, he's in the jailhouse now!"
