Hey I'm KHAM and I run kino.EXE Magazine | Rawdogging Reviews and Highlighting Hardboiled films & games. It's a magazine that isn't really a magazine, but still a magazine.
This game was really clever with pairing it's story with design - the low detailed enemies are actually being caused due to the "ram" of the world messing up the appearance of it's inhabitants. It's like The Matrix if all of the Agent Smith's started bugging out and appeared only as code. I played this demo a couple of months ago and it really stuck with me!
The art style is directly a reference to Dragon Ball, also the facial expressions are often 1-1. The steam description of the game also reads: "Wander Stars is inspired by the anime the developers grew up watching in 1990’s Venezuela and shows like Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, One Piece and more."
@@kinoexe bro that artstyle looks nothing like Dragon Ball, it looks a lot more like Sailor Moon or any other late 80s and early 90s anime that isn't DB. Also One Piece is also mentioned as one of its inspirations yet the artstyle looks nothing like it, they put DB and OP as inspirations because they're both action shonen anime, and since this game seems to be more action based, hence the inspiration.
I am liking it but yeah I can see what you are saying hopefully its just cuz its a demo. the art style and more like the lack of one can be off putting and the writing boring. if I just go off gameplay and don't take it too seriously its a fun light time waster. (BTW once beating round 30 once you no longer have to go through the "twitter" posts all the time)
So I don't know if I passed it or something... But how do you unlock the grinder weapon? Do I just need to make an air compressor? Or is the blueprint hiding somewhere?
So the Sister of the Unlost in the defense sector is the end of the content? No wonder I been killing myself looking to progress! I was at the exact same spot and just stuck. Thanks for the info. lol!
