Waikanae Library aka Te whare pukapuka o Waikanae ~ ataahua, hope public will be allowed on the top outside deck unlike the Foxton Library aka Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom.

The reserve bank governer stated yesterday that the 2 most inflationary expenses individuals face are insurance and local rates hikes, please be mindful that the "proposed" 17 % rates hike is not acceptable

Thank you for your comments. There is a paper that is due to go to Council in the next few months, which will determine the next steps for the Te Newhanga Kāpiti Community Centre.
Sea level rise has been measured as 6 to 9 inches in since 1880's, so that's less than 1.5mm per year. Oceans cover 2/3rds of the earth, ice caps less than 10% of this. If all ice melted the sea level would rise only 3 cm it is estimated. The North Pole in some years has had so small an ice cover that US Navy submarines can surface there. It would be more sensible if we used our money to prepare for Climate Change effects and reinforce or storm water systems so that a deluge did not cause extensive damage to the coastal cities. History does not support the rises that you predict.
I worry that KCDC increasingly is looking for projects outside of its core functions and should be downsizing and looking for productivity improvements delivering on core business.
Kia ora Phil. Ngā mihi for your message. We've a number of surveys open at the moment, jump over and have your say with topics like this there - haveyoursay.kapiticoast.govt.nz/
You have to be kidding, we do not need to have a rates increase just because other councils are 🤦♀️ you have lots of wriggle room to cut costs, you just choose not to 🤦♀️
The parts I have listened to this meeting seems like a shambles, the councillor seems to shut down questions basically saying it’s not her job or pass the buck. I don’t think they want to know how much money they are wasting let alone know what they are spending it on
Sophie. A big moment for you and for the most part well spoken. However I feel I need to reach out to help you as an elected councillor and also perhaps to help others in similar roles. All of you elected persons are emphatically not our Leaders as you seem to have implied? Leaders are people who are role models and have earned the respect of a group of people who will choose to listen to their experience and wisdom. A leader is a (mostly unpaid) role granted by a group to rare few and is a status which can be taken away at any moment, by some or by all if they fail to fulfill that sombre responsibiliyy. Your role as an elected councillor is only to represent the majority of the community and take instruction from us in order to oversee effective administration of the community infrastructure that we and others before us have paid for.and therefore own. Never forget that. Do not get above your station. We the people tell you what we want... Not the other way around. It appears that this detail has been forgotten. Perhaps you and your fellows would do well to remember that and have a brainstorm at your next meeting on what that means in terms of how you are all.currently operating.
@HealthRevolution - I couldn’t agree more with your comments- well said. It has become apparent to me that our public servants appear to be dancing to the tune of a political agenda being pushed by NGO’s such as the WEF rather than listening to those whom they are paid to serve. I believe it is time we all stood up to remind these individuals of who funds them and therefore, where their responsibilities sit.
The tool you are using doesn't harm the gel plate at all? It looks like it might scratch it. Love the resulting marks it makes. Thank you for sharing this video.
Hey, thanks for your comment! We'd love it if you could give your feedback through our consultation at haveyoursay.kapiticoast.govt.nz/hub-page/vision-kapiti.
Pity Nan not here she has a saying very apt for this type of government meddling.they will be checking your bog paper next sure as chips she would have something to say about that as well.
We're going to dig up the same bit of road we dug up to put in the traffic lights and crossing outside our offices for our staff. The disruption is going to be HORRIFIC
The rabbit problem in Otaihanga comes from Mansells property, the rabbit problem was there long before the expressway was put through, you can clearly see on google earth that his property has been terrible since before his parents moved off the land.
