Thanks for testing this camera out. 👍 I'd love to take Street View pictures with it by turning video on and later upload it to Google Maps. Pretty sure I'll do it one day! 😃
For my 8k upload I used the insta360 app on my Windows PC to stitch. I used RU-vid within Chrome to upload. The first upload of each video took a real long time to show 8K as an option. I uploaded the same exact video after the first one. the 8K became available within an hour of my completed 2nd upload. Took over 24 hours for my first original upload to show the 8k option.
About 170 for the Helmet and 85 for the wooden stand. I really don't know yet as it's too new. I have not used anything on it. I used it as Halloween costume. Unfortunately there is a lot of stuff stuck to it now.
This is a great idea bro and quite possibly game changing if Atari offered better curated support for these personal arcade ecosystems. I have a list of things I would change if I was in charge of Atari that I have previously posted elsewhere, and this video inspired me to add another point based on your experimentation. This could really open up the VCS (if they stopped treating it like a red-headed stepchild), and make it vastly superior to something like the nvidia shield. I have posted my newest, amended version of my list below. It is like my 95 Theses of what is wrong with Atari and should be fixed. I paste it here and there t/o some VCS videos and periodically amend it when not so busy (or if I see some interesting idea(s) like what you presented here). Here is the lengthy list if interested and I hope more VCS fans stumble upon it and perhaps request Atari implement some of the proposals if any resonate with them. what I'd do if i headed atari: 1. get rid of bios password via an auto-update if possible (if not, offer a customer svc line to walk through those that have had problems). I had a unit that wouldn't allow unlock since I purchased in may 2022 until a new bios update a rep sent me 2 weeks ago and his instructions were lousy. 2. be sincere on looking for a new partner to continue making new VCS units (I don't believe they are being sincere with that announcement). 3. make an Atari OS app akin to what xbox and ps offers. Fix whatever Atari OS issues are and dedicate a few more resources to shore it up. 4. open up Atari OS further for devs who want to create apps or easily port existing apps to it like snaps/flatpaks/appimages work for other Linux distros. If legal, offer support for emulators or front-ends like Retroarch after seeking a license or permission from those developers. 5. Get w/AMD to see if any of the FSR/RSR tech works or can be optimized to allow better performance for the VCS (I'm currently looking into this via my Linux distro on my VCS, but I believe RSR won't be compatible if I understand correctly). 6. Offer a 16 or 32 GB version for those who mostly plan to use as mini pc, and I'd try to tweak it to include and reliably run DDR4-3200 out of the box. I currently use a 32GB kit of DDR4-2400 to play it safe since didn't want to have any issues getting 3200 to work. I don't think it'd be a problem for the VCS b/c on launch, I've read it used 25 watts but my later unit (or if Atari did via an update) shows 35 watts. I think ETA prime and others get it to 54 watts w/ddr4-3200 but I'm unsure if that affects its HW longevity. 7. Reach out to more indie devs of games I think would be a good fit for the VCS and its core fan base who are into retro/classic/arcade and older computer titles. This is not exclusive to older/retro titles--this includes new games as well that are more 3D-based and complex such as what BPMBoy offered in terms of newer gameplay to push the limits of the VCS. 8. Create a universal button mapper so one could easily use any controller irregardless if xinput or direct input & allow it to exclude any button you don't want mapped. It would include a keyboard mapper to accommodate weird games like dosbox or early computer games. This could be the best universal mapper for pc ever created if done right. An example of a terrible mapper would be what's offered via Steam. If one doesn't believe me, try mapping 2 non-standard or obscure controllers to a game like Street Fighter 5. Firstly, the game only seems to offer only support for one keyboard, making mapping via software for another controller difficult to impossible. Since the Atari OS is Linux based, it could use the existing EV test protocol to insure any controller you have connected is fully functional and mappable w/o basing it on a lot of controller assumptions like Steam enforces via their mapper that makes many controllers difficult or impossible to properly map. With this possibility, one could theoretically take something like a Jaguar pad (via USB) and map certain functions to its number pad even for non-Jaguar games like C64 games as an example (ie. Airborne Ranger). 9. Try to offer more regular sales on the storefront, w/Atari branded titles being a better deal than on other stores. 10. Offer a new keyboard/trackball/spinner hybrid (I chimed in on an atari age posting on this). 11. Offer a light gun that is modular (I'd get w/the GUN4IR crew to see what/how it could be mass-produced or reasonably expensive if could only be made in small batches). 12. Offer a cart adapter (at least for 7800/2600 or 2600 alone if too expensive w/rom-ripping capability to save to VCS. 13. Try to partner w/Aya Neo?? or whatever their name is to offer a portable VCS or allow the Atari OS on their unit so HW manufacturing could be avoided. 14. Make a new classic controller similar to the existing except much more durable & with a heavier base. If needed, re-partner with Power-A for such an offering or for a commercial or military grade pro-versions like what Sony and MS (supposedly) offer. I can't speak to their quality, but I'm pretty sure the prices for those units are grossly overcharged and unmerited in terms of quality even if they are better compared to their default controllers. 15. take a look at older atari ip and micro prose IP (they seem to own much of it afaict) and try to make new updated versions like Airborne Ranger, Gunship. Also would try to get investor support to see if could buy some IP that went to other companies like Roadblasters and PaperBoy. 16. Begin a rollout to Europe since the Atari Computer line did the best there I believe, so I think the VCS could work there better perhaps compared to the US. 17. Dialog with content creators and have Atari reps featured/interviewed to announce new game(s); projects and reassure this is the new Atari and we are here for the long haul. That is basically free advertising so why not? 18. Offer more customer satisfaction surveys to see how we could improve. 19. stop using cheap thermal paste on future units. It was a night and day difference after I added some. Their thermal pad had a tiny portion that really did the majority of its cooling--it was no wonder the fan was constantly on, not helped by the VCS only using 6GB for OS in PC mode. 20. a good idea posted by "acem77" via his "Atari VCS Donut Dodo on Atgames Legends Ultimate OTG mode" YT video of the VCS library being easy to play via one's home arcade ecosystem like AtGames Legends Ultimate or an IIRcade as another example. This could create a good niche user base of arcade enthusiasts for the VCS that (afaik) no other platform has done, along w/creating new potential business partners like these examples. 21. Give Atari branded titles on the VCS a brief edge over other ports and perhaps a timed minimum 3 month exclusive period so as not to take away too much potential profit from users determined to buy other console or steam ports only. This might be easier said than done though b/c I imagine it's possible the big 3 console makers may not like this and may try retaliatory measures to prevent this. I will amend this list periodically if time permits.
You have all valid points, I wish they had a cart slot for everything but at minimum one for modern VCS titles. I am thinking designing a bigger wheel / puck to put around the VCS classic controller stick for more grip and rotation control. Right now I have 2 VCS systems one mostly stock for games, some bios changes relate to fan noise and wattage boosts. Also used with a USB boot stick running win 11, for all Atari emulation. More or less an Atari jukebox. I have my 2nd VCS upgraded with internal storage, 16gb of RAM and a USB to HDMI for a 2nd display. Its used to run my atgames legends pinball cab with a vibs board and control deck.
@@acem7749 I think I like the sound of your idea for the classic controller even if I can't fully envision it. I had an idea when I got my unit in April that the classic controller rotation could possibly be better (and probably more precise) for both traditional 2600 "paddle" and "driving" controller games if they made the circle (delineated by the LED ring) the paddle/driving controller instead of relying on the rotational stick. It could be cool, I think, if it could light up while being rotated, plus it could add a little more weight for stability. Sadly, I don't think they'd be willing to do something like this due to my feeling of a status quo apathy that permeates from their leadership. I don't have an atgames or similiar (just a final fight arcade1up) but I find this prospect fascinating and definitely something I think they should look into.
After some more testing all the analog spinner games in the vault seem to work just fine with a spinners on the Legends cabinet, both 2600 paddle games and arcade games like Tempest. The one problem is you need a keyboard or another controller connected to select them from the main VCS apps screen and in some cases to exit the game.
I have a MicroCenter built Atari Fight stick, and it has a trackball and a spinner. It works only for the VCS Vault games which is great, but for Centipede, the mouse is present and makes it hard to play. It doesn't work on Antstream or any of the Recharged games or anything else other than the Vault 1 and 2. There's been at least two updates since I tried it, so maybe now it might work. I'll test it out along with the AtGames Legends Pro and see what happens, both with and without a keyboard and mouse.
Hello I have a way but you need to move a file to the right location in you devices storage. Need to be a bit tech savvy. I have not checked to see if any easier ways exist.
