If I'm not mistaken, you said that the weight savings was between 3~5 Kg. That's a big differens in 3 and 5 Kg. A difference in 0.5 Kg is acceptable, but your talking about a whole 2 Kg difference. Why not weigh all the original parts all together and then all the carbon parts all together and have a more exact weigh difference, or close to exact weigh difference. The math is messed up big time.
