@@J.aime_le_pain181 Omnipotent Succession would actually do more damage with my strat. But obviously this was when I was still trying to figure this fight out so I wanted to get the pierce effect from glory since satan drains light naturally.
Good run but its probably best not to debilitate him since it increases crit chance and dmg. I just managed to beat him on godborn although i had to grind to 650 vit and setup chaotic will and kannabi for the last 40% of his hp.
@@kingcrimson5483 People think that but if you guard with the taunt user then crit can't happen if that demon is attacked. I found it a lot more consistent and faster than not using Debilitate at all. Of course there's always a chance that he snipes someone else with it but it doesn't happen that often. And yes it becomes dangerous to Debilitate him when he starts using Recalcitrant Execution so I stopped using Debilitate in that phase lol.
Great video/technique. Really enjoyed the watch Honestly SMT5's innate skills really push this game to new heights. I've seen so many different strats on how to deal with the superbosses taking advantage of them. I managed to beat this boss on hard with no NG+ today. My team was Protag, Cu Chulainn, Scathach and Konohana Sakuya. Cu was in slot 1, and his job was to just constantly crit with gae bolg with both force pleromas, critical zealot and high restore. He was also responsible for using the combo ability raging whirlwind which does pretty good damage and nukes offense/defense. I used this instead of debilitate and I have to say it was pretty reliable Konohona was slot 2, basically just heal botting and passing. Occassionally using a fire move or a gem for press turns Scathach was slot 3, her job was to just spam figment slash on the boss or minions. Her passive that makes her moves never miss if Cu is in the party is insanely good and is probably why I was able to win using this team. Full phys set up as well, crit zealot both phys pleromas etc. She also had impalers in case of phys resist Protag was in 4th slot and his main job was purely casting Mirage and not much else, I built him with a phys figment slash build but he couldn't hit Satan reliably so I used him to weaken the minions. Him being in fourth meant if he got a 2nd turn and missed right at the end, it didn't matter since it was only one turn anyway. And lastly I had Michael in my stock for the emergency case of Satan absorbing someone with big bang, I'd have cu switch out then use god's shield.
@@JeSSuspiria If you kill his minions then his Magatsuhi Plunder turn gets delayed but doesn't get skipped. It's still not documented by how much it gets delayed but if you manage to kill his minions twice in a row then he'll consume the third set immediately after summoning. It's 50/50 on whom he chooses however.
@@DebeshMishra03 thanks I actually beat him using your method, but I didn't skip the second plunder. I tried to kill the other demon so he had to plunder kaiwan, but I got lucky and he chose him after I didn't do enough damage.
The luminiscent mirage thing almost seems like an oversight. I mean satan could use megido ark on ally demons right? The megidoloan barely does 300-400 damage while losing two press turns and it kinda feels like the repel phys strat for demifiend on base smt v. Well im not complaining, tanking megido ark is a pain in the ass.
@@azure4622 I think the only demons exclusive to chaos vengeance is Innana and Yoko. Not sure if they are actually that good here, maybe Yoko is for debuffing but Beelzebub is better.
@@ghoulishgoober3122 You don't in a new game file. You need to beat him in the creation path and then you can fuse him in the vengeance path in the new game plus.
Since the game has been out for a while now, people have already discovered cheese strategies like one turn kills with Omagatoki Strategize. So there's that. I was proud of my runs because I didn't use any such cheese strats haha. Regardless I'm not sure what to make next, since I was just doing solo persona challenges before my Satan video which unexpectedly blew up.
@@HeroesNoMore. I have finished boss rushes in godborn hard. They were nothing special. Challenge modes however require capped stats and require a lot of grinding. And at that point, fight just becomes a regular fight. So not sure if that'll be something people would watch haha.
Well I don't know if he is supposed to heal when he goes to half. The only time he healed for me was when he plundered Hariti whose racial magatsuhi skills fully heals HP and MP. That's why it is a priority to kill her first. Regardless my strategy didn't allow him to heal because I burst him down from i think 80ish percent.
Didn't really have to go out of my way to grind. Just speak with your navigators often and they find you stuff. I was getting those stuff even in the first area.
Very well done fight. Since others are sharing their strategies, I think I’ll tell the one I used to beat him. My main demons were Konohana Sakuya, Panagaia Yoko and the Demi Fiend. Sakuya is basically Idun on steroids and can more than sustain everyone’s MP for most of the fight. Yoko is basically Tao but actually good. Her skill is a slightly weaker Tandava which causes Debilitate AND Dekaja. Great for constantly applying debuffs and getting rid of Satan’s buffs if he uses Fairy Banquet. Lastly I mainly used Demi Fiend for guaranteed crits with Deadly Fury and Chaotic Will to half Satan’s turns. Oh and Gaea Rage on Omogatoki Critical turns As for Bino, I had a standard Murakumo build with Luminescent Mirage and Intercalation. For whatever reason using Luminescent Mirage completely dumpsters Satan’s AI and he’ll never use Megido Ark. And Intercalation ensures an extra action when I dodge.
Seems interesting! But I did this fight before Demi-fiend and even Shiva lol. When I was doing this fight, it was still proof of concept strategies until I saw him plunder Kaiwan and thought of the current one.
I thought megido ark only triggers if you're above 4 stages of buffs or debuffs on all targets (you can fully debuff satan but not satan and his adds), on my clear i've maintained myself at +1 on all buffs and stuck to either -1 on all debuffs or -2 atk/def and never saw him cast megido ark after the first cast, as soon as the debuffs would even go to -5 (-2 atk/def and -1 evasion) he'd immediately go for megido ark
good job man. I don't have much time to play but I was thinking of trying to beat him with a support build and without using guaranteed dodge (not trying to minimize your strat, the damage turn setup was beautiful). I was thinking using zeus for single target damage, yoko for debuff + aoe damage, and demeter for magic damage + overheal. Nahobino would be full vitality and using kannabi veil to survive megido ark and would use revival chant to bring back demons in 1 turn. The issue would maybe be damage being too low and therefore going OOM, but maybe using energy drain would solve this? Or farming incenses for zeus dmg.
Good luck with that. I don't think the issue will be that you don't have the damage output, I think the issue will be that even through Kannabi you'll be taking a lot of damage and potential ohkoes from Megido Ark.
Wait, so in all your testing he never used Megido Ark as his first action? He did that plenty of times to me, even in my kill. It feels like there has to be something triggering him to do that.
Oh, also, was him eating Kaiwan there RNG, or does he just always eat the right one when he insta eats after summon? I've always left him a demon to eat, so I never saw him instantly eat.
Yes he never used Megido Ark as his first action. It may be that using Luminescent Mirage makes him do that because he may think that if he targets Nahobino, it will miss. But once that wears off after an attack, he can just use it without any issues.
@@Canivir In my testing if he is about to plunder his demon in the next turn but you kill both of them just before it, then he'll summon the next set and immediately plunder one of them. Him plundering Kaiwan was just rng though, many times he ate Kumbhanda instead. If that happens then you stall a little bit more.
@@DebeshMishra03in my testing he has to plunder every other summon rotation, if you kill every summon twice he’ll just instantly plunder the third time, kill timing didn’t seem to have much to do with it, I would drop one of his allies (generally picking the preferred affinities/easier magatsuhi skills to deal with) and make sure he plunders them at low hp to minimize the healing
Yeah I chose to use my favourites. Also you might not remember me but I'm the same guy who commented on your guide. My old channel got deleted so this is a re-upload haha.
