Love sent from the U.S. Virgin Islands. Down here we have the Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra. You guys sound magnificent. Ive seen two differnt videos of you guys with the same song. You guys popped off in both. Keep up the good work.
Well daaaaamn. Please pardon my French because I just heard a masterpiece. Wished I was there to experience it live and direct. Awesome presentation 👍🏽
Couva Joylanders would have won this Panorama if it wasn’t for the wrong tune selection. Joylanders was the cleanest and tightest playing band on the night. It is worth noting that familiar songs tend to get the nod more favorably than unfamiliar songs. For this reason, I predict a Renegades win in the National Large Bands Finals 2023 and a fall from grace for Trinidad All-Stars and Phase II.

As a renegades fan, I hope duvone has more up his sleeve. Very good performance but it shouldn’t have taken 6:26 to get into the minor chords, and then we only stayed there for like 20 seconds. After we broke away from the song, and into the arrangement it became confusing and sounded like noise for a bit. I also feel there is a bit of unoriginality here, a large part of this arrangement sounds identical to Boosie’s Pan by Storm with skiffle. Would also like to see more tension building leading to the minor chords. Lets hope for the best #renegades
Marcus Granger, I agree with your point. All in all Renegades arrangement was the best on the night. Despers sounded like an old and repetitive arrangement just different keys from previous arrangements. All Stars seem to be stuck with a dated style of music and a tune that is totally wrong for them. Silver Stars gave a spirited arrangement but lacked middle pans, resulting in a Tenor and Bass sound. Invaders just played up and down scales all around the tune. Starlift seems to miss a golden opportunity to set a forceful trend with its sound being a bit stop-start and choppy with no sweet grove. Phase II lacked real pace and something new, sounded dated like Desperadoes.
This brought tears to my eyes, living in America since I was very young boy , I tried so hard to stay close to my Roots, My father would faithfully listen to these finals, since he passed away,I have not have the zeal to to watch, this blew me away especially when they played "long time".Thanks for taking time to post this Trinidadians in US please don't lose your ethnicity such a beautiful Culture
Its semis now, you hear the upscale of the music, tempo, effective efficiency clear roles, and on point Allstars in vintage... Don't count them out. Smooth at his prime; Final night will be something, every band has their signature sound and phrasing this is Allstars own, so don't talk about the same old style.
