I recently learned that Hell Roaring Creek was named by my great great grandfather, Bill Doolin. While camping with some other cowboys (mid 1880s) next to that creek one night, they woke up to find their bedrolls wet and the creek running it's banks. Bill Doolin yelled "It's hell roaring high!" And that name stuck.

Everybody sleeps in the NF or BLM, which is why you see places like Movie Road in Lone Pine CA now "managed" Massive demand in a short window.

I never even try to stay in a national park campground. It is impossible. How about hire a host or several open the campground, no reservations, show up first come first served.

There is no justification for access restrictions on back country hiking and camping. Serious outdoors people are not overcrowding those trails.
@MaryReed-iy7fq
@MaryReed-iy7fq 14 дней назад
The over crowded park issue is a self solving problem. People will eventually avoid them and peak times.
@MaryReed-iy7fq
@MaryReed-iy7fq 14 дней назад
For the super popular parks, issue US citizens a one time pass. After that, use the lotto system. No restrictions should ever apply to 90% of the parks for citizens.

UN Agenda 21, now 30. We will have to be satisfied with viewing the parks via virtual reality headsets while the .0001% enjoy unrestricted access.

I live at the base of a National Forest. I can't even drive up without a permit. Outrageous.

I have permits to backpack this area in middle September this year. What time of year did you do this hike?

Wow, it’s heartening to see Vasey’s so improved last summer! In winter 2021 it was so reduced from its normal flow that it was sad to see. Hopefully this year’s snowpack will also yield a good flow from the spring.

Just hiked Angels Landing last week and it’s remarkable to watch your video to compare the difference in the weather conditions from March to April, and of course El Niño year versus this year which I guess is a standard year. Thanks for posting all of your hard earned content, I know that it’s not easy to place tripods and go back-and-forth on the trails just to make interesting b-roll. Gave your videos alike and have now subscribed to help support your channel.

Hello, hello, hello, PJ. I’ve been very worried about you, and hoped rec.gov didn’t get you so down that you just quit YT. Your videos are exceptional! 😊. Thank you, thank you, thank you for another great tour.

The view with you sitting at the lookout looking out on Heart Lake looks like you're on top of the world. Though I bet the water was chilly it must have been awesome to sneak in the quick swim.

Hello Todd C. Glad to see you’re back & posting. I hope that all has been going well for you. I was beginning to wonder if Booz Allen Co had snatched you from a NP & had been holding you in an undisclosed location.

Hello Park Junkie, good to see you are well and still enjoying life. Thanks for sharing this trip. It is a beautiful place and Mexico deserved some fairness. Hope you make another next time you get a chance. "Live long and prosper."
