As a Steelers fan, I'm cautiously optimistic Arthur can adapt his scheme to fit the talent that he already has on the Offense he is taking over. My fear is that all that young talent will not be fully utilized running wide zone so much. Russell Wilson isn't able to throw the ball well enough over the middle like this scheme requires, and he doesn't have the legs to escape and run the ball like he once did. Once again, it's going to be interesting to see how this season turns out. Go Steelers!
If you can get into a max fit, a solo fit, or an outgapped fit all with the same call (Mint 4), what is the factor that determines which of these you'll be in? The offensive formation? Post snap keys/reads? How do the players know which run fit concept they're using if there's just one call?
Maybe they should hire you. You seem to know all about the NFL Coaching concepts and schemes. Take a shot. If you coach like you criticize, you may be the man for the job.
Defenses have easy adjustments to this offense look at what buffalo did against Steelers in playoffs they stacked the line and dropped defenders at the snap to defend the pass if Steelers don't stretch the field and make it a threat.defenses will stack the box and sit on the short passes.
(On this video) I'm sold.... not one time did I think Matt Canada has a PowerPoint on his philosophy on Offense. (My comment) When the hire happened, I was pretty neutral but not negative on it. Listening to certain media from ATL it seems like they're blaming Smith more than the GM/Owner. The offense he runs is pretty effective (Run Heavy/Play Action System). He had the same problem there as it was this past season with the 2023 Pittsburgh Steelers (Inconsistent QB Play). Just from listening to fans of the Falcons, Desmond has the leadership qualities to be a QB but he had a fumbling/INT problem. Here in Pittsburgh, Kenny hasn't shown that. The problem here with Kenny has been accuracy and Redzone efficiency. That's coaching and having a OC that can coach you up. Arthur seems to be that type of guy. The clear opposite when it came to Matt Canada. Many of the Falcons players liked Arthur. Seems like he was hired when the roster was in cap hell. The Matt Ryan contract didn't help. Remember the Falcons almost traded for Deshaun Watson and would his future be different? Maybe? I like the hire even more after doing some research and getting context on he 'incomplete' 3 years in Atlanta. On paper it's a slam dunk hire!
I think this guy is going to surprise a lot of people in Pittsburgh. This is steelers football. We have had too many divas for far too long without winning. Lets bring back some disciplined hard nosed football.
@oldgrizz Same things guys like you said about the Canada offense, the Canada offense next year and the year after... Mike Dumblin would never hire a guy that can overshine him. Smith is perfect for the Dumblin system: A proven Looser leads us to "no loosing season"
@@Slayer118four This! Tomlin and his fans never realized that the world has moved. He is from the old NFL, like Harbaugh or Bellichik. No clue for the modern game style. Look at Washington last year. Eric Bienemy form the average qb Sam Howell to a leading passer for a couple of games. On the other side: Chiefs struggled over the season without him. They need a full year and a Mahomes to compensate. Steelers will never win anything relevant under Dumblin.
Everything this guy has shown will make the Steelers a top 10 offense….add a few players Steelers are back…. Now Derek watt fits the Steelers now… great hire Pittsburgh…. If Kenny Pickett can’t be successful with authur he doesn’t belong in NFL… Najee and Jalen warren wow… WAIT TO SEE PICKENS in this offense..
@@faustinomontoya1549😂😂 Rudolph is a backup at max. Funny thing is: He made a lot of the same mistakes the fans with ESPN knowledge overanalyzed with Kenny. And you guys praised him. For what exactly? Have you forgotten: Kenny had his best game after Canada was gone. Rudolph get the starting job cause of a injury. Kenny has way higher potential. The problem is: Canada and his Friend, Mike Dumblin, take away all his confidence and learn him to live in Dumblins fears. That and the horrible high school offense without scheme make him to what he is. But watch more ESPN and repeat what these morons tell you.
@@Slayer118four Absolutely not. He might be a bad HC but he's been hired as OC, you can be a bad HC but great OC. The falcons are a bad organisation anyways. They drafted weapons when they have no franchise QB...that's so retarded and it's expected when you have a rookie GM and overbearing owner.
@@Gaga4Parma We drafted weapons when we had no offensive line...and we still don't. i.e could have drafted Creed Humphrey in the 2nd round of 2021 draft. We picked Muth. They could have drafted Tyler Linderbaum at 20, in the 2022 draft, They took Pickett.
@@mc1993 Yeah that was Big Ben's last year. We had no TE. And wanted to give him weapons. Clearly Kendrick Green was not a Center. 😂😭 Likewise we drafted Pickett because we needed a QB. Imagine if we went into the 2022 season with Trubisky as the only QB. The Steelers problem is that recently they have been drafting more for need rather than drafting the best player. Colbert's draft from 2015 onwards were wonky and it catches up with you when you look back and see how it all falls.
Good info, but I'd prefer you run the examples in slow motion. The pictures in slideshow format are hard to follow, because defenders jump around like magicians.
So, if you go to 1:47:04 , there's a good question asked about how practical it would be to try to implement all or at least more than one type of these run fits (7 man, 8 man, 9 man) at the HS level, and coach Bartee says, "No". Am I not mistaken that NFL teams must run multiple run fit spacings because they play some single high, some match quarters / bracket / mix and some cover 0? And I'm not sure if I understood the implications of the coverage behind the 9 man spacing and the necessity of bringing the DT across the center line in 7 man spacing, but it seems like those wouldn't be schemes you'd want to live in as your base. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure it depends on the types of offenses that you're seeing and of course what level of football.
Certainly depends on the types of offenses. 9 man spacing would be man 0 or quarters where the safeties will add in to a 12/21 look. The N playing across is trying to steal a gap in some fits where you might end up a gap short to some light box situations, maybe a 7 man spacing fit for example
Does he not see that he is misaligned? If the rotation is strong, his Mike should be in the wk B gap. He has no wk curl defender. Split flow boot is going to destroy him. Not to over look the Sam should be spilling the ball to the Free, not boxing back to the Mic. 5:45
Coach you always have the PSG solid on the 3 tech? Just seems tough on the center if the 3 and the Mike exchanged gaps. 3 tech spikes to A and Mike shoots B.
@@GTCoachFlo hey Mr Flores can you tell me people you know who can tell me more about coverages and calls and plays like these I know most covers but I want to know more variations to. I’m a cb and my 7v7 team started saying this and I don’t know it this will help my junior year and college years
Path of the back determines the backers read, ( cloudy read v/s clear read ). Full flow vs tight flow. The backers don’t technically “read” the G or T like they would in 2 backs; they are more less reading the intentions of the backs shoulders ( if they are open are still parallel). Remember that the back is the backers pass responsibility he is the #3. Just trying to clarify the question that the gentleman asked
