My real problem is that people use this as an example to say “Sasuke tried to kill her”. No he didn’t. He only placed her under genjutsu and only did so because he didn’t want her to intervene in his fight with Naruto and get hurt. Context matters. But yeah, kinda hard to excuse the five kage summit. In my defense, both Sasuke and Sakura were acting a bit out of character in that arc. That and Sasuke was literally going through a mental breakdown.
I wanted to hug Botan here and after Genkai's death. We always see her as bubbly and cute and happy go lucky but we forget she's the Grim Reaper, charged with ferrying souls to and fro. And now she's attached to mortals who are fighting in or being exposed to dangerous situations. She must have been in constant fear of something happening to one of her precious friends and having to do what she did with Genkai.
