When I built scale models as a kid, I seldom use a nail file. I'd usually remove excess plastic and parts off the sprues with a razor blade. I used to have cuts on my fingertips all the time. By the way, the DshK on that T-54 looks way better than the one that comes with the Lindberg/Atlantis IS-3 Stalin.
It is interesting to hear how people would design scale models of subjects on the other side of the Iron Curtain from photos released as propaganda, this one is maybe not the best example of a T54/55, but there's a history there about what the people knew at the time. I wonder if some of these inaccurate models would make a good what if, think those paper panzers that video games come up with for WW2 tanks, or in some cases invent.
You little T-54 project turned out just fine and I really don't mind these build videos on long outdated tank and sci kits. I like how you plug away at them and make the best of these kits long forgotten by modelers. I wouldn't mind taking a crack at some of these old 1/76 tanks kits, shame about the decals pulling up like that. I would have gone in with a fine tipped brush and just touch up the markings with paint, Vallejo Model Color is perfect for this. Greetings from the US and happy modeling!

Ive decided I will review all the 3rd gen tanks and have a plan for the t-90 scheme. Sadly the next two I ordered is the AA platform and a rocket truck. Will order the T-90 and chinese MBT next.
very true, I no longer own a hair drier which kinda an issue for long hair in winter but hot tea and cooking is important so kettle comes first in this house hold. What I do like about the water more is water line control of what resin is in and out of the heat zone.
Hello, thanks for sharing all the details! I have a question: @5:50 you state ‘best detail is when resin is most viscous’. But then talk about keeping the resin warm. So is it better to have the resin cold and thick, or warm and thin?

@@mokanaman what colour can consider as white in clear paint? Wanna try mix it with any clear paint. I cant find one. Only hv moonstone pearl and diamond silver
i found these paints hard to use, with the skin tones i started getting good results when spraying at a 66% rapid thinner and 34% paint at low PSI and with extremely light coats gets a very nice satin skin texture. the tones for shadow are supposed to be applied even thinner than the skin. skin is not suppose to be glossy but it looks good for an anime look.
gloss isnt an issue with matt additives or flat clear coat, I dont know what is or isnt the correct method as many skin and complexion tones are different. Some figures very very super thin light low lights and other times Ive done super tanned or colored characters drawing upon sand and tan base over light flesh or white skin. Did a video abit ago mixing every skin tone type.
Thanks alot for this. I am just getting into airbrushing and i couldnt find any good compressors. Question, if this is compatible with any airbrush, does it matter if its double or single action airgun?
This is a high end and expensive airbrush, I would recommend looking at the small more basic sets I have reviewed on this channel. This will take any 1/8'' fitting airbrush single or double action.
How did you go about doing the non piston joint on the leg (the one in the middle i think). The instructions indicate that it could move a bit but if i try to move it then it would bend the plastic tabs that fit into the many little grooves inside. Or do i just pick an angle and hope for the best?
I was unable to make it move (whole thing glued into a staic pose) and guessed it was choose an angle ordeal. If I was to do it again I would make the hole larger for easier movement and change the pin into a wire. This would involve scratch building new joints too maybe.
The T-14 is an interesting subject, and the 4D model looks pretty good. I have a Modelcollect ver in my stash, but the 4D one looks so much easier to build.
I really like the 4D models. I haven't too successful with traditional models with glue, so the 4D models give me an opportunity to learn modeling skills a with low risk of poor outcome. Also, if I mess up the model to the point of having to abandon the project I have lost a price of a cup of coffee instead of $30 - $ 60. I wish more of mainstream model companies would produce a wider range of the this type of model, especially military vehicles (my favorite model kit when was a boy was sanp together Revell or Monogram Sherman Tank in either 1/35 or 1/48 scale).
I agree with you and even stock and resell these kits in my hobby shop, specially cheaper poorer quality ones as beginner projects. Still a lot of fun to make.
i have gone to PAX every time since 2017. I have only been to two anime conventions Oz Comic con 2023/24. Was looking for more Anime conventions in melb, great video. Quick question though, do you think they will have trading cards their for sale is some of the booths? I'm looking for some One piece cards
I can answer that, yes a anime trading card business has traded on and off over the years called neko cards. Last I checked Im not aware of anyone selling One Piece nor is it too big in Aus.
I’ve built a number of s-model kits and they’re generally a fine model and low part count brings them quickly to the gaming table. I’ve just bought this kit of ebay. Two models for £12.
for in store retail with warranty that is normal fair margin price. About the same I resell them for after buying wholesale bulk. Sorry to hear about the hose but those last forever. My first one for 20 years ago still in use well after the brush and compressor retired.
different with very type of printer, same as standard resin that's recommended for your machine with tests and adjustments to zero for best results. I over expose a bit which isnt popular in the community so my input isnt too popular or reverent.
@@mokanaman At least indicative times I have creality ld006 and black esun and still gives me problems on the test should have 2,8sec and according to the manufacturer 5sec irradiation.
proper high quality super glue is just pure Cyanoacrylate, large amount is combustable exposed to air and super harmful base chemical to the reason why it sold in small bottles or packs. You can buy it larger amounts cheaper online then hobby or hardwear stores.
I got about 10 or more 5ml bottles from aliexpress cheap and has lasted about 3-4 years. Really should make a video about this topic, thanks for the idea.
