Electric parking brakes, electric steering that will jerk the steering wheels out of your hands if you try to change lanes without signaling, engines that shut off every time you stop the vehicle...I mean wtf? They might as well actually make cars without hoods and repossess your car if its older than 5 years. This crap has to stop.
question, whats going on with the dash lights all being on and the car not logging miles, or its movement? is this done for a reason seems odd to disable all the sensors designed to tell you if something fails
going on 9 RallyCross events in this car with the 6mt. You have to feather left foot braking to keep ECU from cutting throttle. I've found NOT braking and instead coming off the gas and throwing it in the corner hard then clutch kicking and hard accelerating is faster in some turns than braking into the turn to induce the slide. I've upgraded the motor mount and crank pulley which helps alot.
You can always say I could've taken it faster but you may only get one Oh no. The faster you go the harder it gets to initiate the start of the turn. At some point you've gone ballistic and just won't want to turn in. A man's got to know his limitations. That's why turning early feels safe as you dive for the apex all loaded up and asking the car to do everything at once. The late apex feels like you're late for the bus and if you didn't check up a little you might be. You have to feel the car turning and the weight passing from the front to the seat to the rear. Now you might oversteer but you shouldn't push the front. Any bit of sand water leaves or change in banking can greatly affect grip. Motorcycles are especially intolerant of mistakes. It's a lot like slalom skiing or comes where aiming for the gate makes you late for the next one. They taught the wider entry and stay tight to the back of the gate so you're early for the next one. You'll be smooth but not fast then work on where you can find speed once you're making it through the whole course.
Would love to see fcp euros cayman out here or another cayman. I’m prepping my 07 987 2.7 for central Canadian winter. If you do make a video to test it on the dry, I found a connection for the psm system behind the radio access through the drivers footwell that fully disabled psm so left foot braking does not cut throttle response. You can easily plug this back in afterwards to regain psm.
@@ralvolvi7668they had the option of the 6 speed manual or CVT until 2023 where the took out the manual option in favor of just the cvt. I want a 6 speed for a daily so bad.
For all you sim pilots: get off your couch and try the real thing! Do a rally school, lease a car, and do a rally. You need real war stories for the old folks home.
Bittersweet to see these in the car I drive. Not as cheap to fix as my old 98' Camry, but it's nice to see that I could still get some good fun out of the new one for the econobox enthusiast like myself.
Great video, as usual, Wyatt. Does pulling the ABS fuse also disable the EBD and ESC? ESC is a pain in the arse when I hire a rental to do unofficial reccies.
After seeing this car in the summer, I feel pretty confident a second gen Hyundai Accent could meet or exceed this time. It rotates off throttle incredibly well and allows left foot braking. Great driving as always
Regular FWD cars with soft engine mounts already feel like engine and transmission are going to fall out of the car whenever you transition from full throttle to lifting off and vice versa, some of the more powerful FWD cars that still have really soft mounts makes this even worse.
Honestly I’m always impressed with what a “Regular Car” can do in the hands of Wyatt, and he always finds a way to make these videos informative on top of entertaining. Excellent video, per usual!
