As a Filipino China, born and raised in the Philippines. I hope organizations like chinatown tv and chinoy tv annouce guidelines for us Chinoys about safety these days. Filipinos disdain towards Chinese and Chinoys these days seems to be at an all time high. A delivery driver who delivered goods to our store and rammed our main gate with his truck just used this phrase as a defense "Pilipinas to at hindi China naghahanap buhay lang kayo dito at hindi kayo pwede magyabang". However, we are not the ones who are mayabang. We just told him you caused a "damage to our property" why are you using the China, Chinese, Philippines, and Filipinos issue? With my 30+ years living as a Filipino Chinese in the country, this is the very first time i met a Pinoy who would used this a defense. Are chinoy still safe in this country? What if some Filipinos decided to commit much harsher crimes? They would use this as a defense. I hope you channel would share some tips for the safety of Chinoys. Not all chinoys are based in Binondo some live in much filipinos dominated area.
The Chinese in Thailand had completely assimilated themselves into Thai society, so most of them don't speak Chinese anymore. Seems like the same thing happened with the Chinese in the Philippines. The Chinese in Indonesia were NOT allowed to learn Chinese for many years, so most of them couldn't speak Chinese neither. But ethnic Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore can speak VERY good Chinese. They can read and write, too.
I'm also a half Chinese but in reality i only speak ni hao, xièxiè 😂 my mom also don't speak Chinese even she's half haha i only trying to learn duolingo, but my great grandfather is pure Chinese lol, we never learn speaking chinese at all but yeah hehe
