You getting stuck in the mud, having to strip down to your undies and then getting spotted is the payback you deserve for calling South Carolina a drive through state.
Next time you are in Seneca or New River Gorge.....let me know ....maybe me and some climbing friends can climb together. Have lead multipitch trad easy routes to Seneca South Summit. Lets do some single pitch and see how it works out.
This is a WOWSER of a documentary. One of the best. Worth watching again and again. Yes u inspire and brought back some of my most favorite memories. Kudos for not only completing the PCT but for making such an epic vid!
Nice video! I live in Kure Beach, I camp out there all the time with my Jeep. The gate is 3 minutes from my house. Looks like you were between marker 37 and 38
.. well couldn't overland in Texas would choose Idaho Upstate NY Minnesota Banff Whisper Mountain Wyoming Montana it might be less expensive as the price of fuel might be easier to take ...
Thank you for doing this all in one video! I understand why people like to vlog their thru hikes but RU-vid is so saturated now with PCT vlogs that it's hard to sift through it all and find something compelling enough to keep my attention and of quality that's visually pleasing. The terms "film" and "documentary" are also grossly overused on this platform. You used neither in your title but deserve both. Great story telling and editing! I cycled self-supported across Canada in 2022. That was my first long distance trip of any kind. After completing the 8000+km ride, RU-vid started suggesting PCT thru hikes and I got HOOKED! It's going to be a few years of setting my life up for it but I'm 43 now and plan to thru hike the PCT for my 50th birthday! I would do it sooner if I could but think I like the idea of waiting to turn 50 on trail!! I truly enjoyed watching your journey, thank you for the inspiration!
Really glad I found your channel. You put a lot of work into this video and it bothers me that it hasn't had as many views and likes as it deserves. I'm excited to see how your channel grows.
What a trip! I'm halfway through your adventure, wonderful photography, really excellent narration and storytelling! Just found this at by accident after watching Crime Pays but Botany Doesn't!b🌞🤩
Hope you get to come back and finish this route. I live in SC and there are some good trails in the upstate and some incredible mountain views as well. Best of luck getting back down here to finish it
Wow man your a glutton for punishment , You deliberately drive into the deep end of the mud holes after using a stick to find the deep end then drive right into it WITHOUT A WINCH. AND one of the biggest NO NO'S never 4x4 alone without a winch. All you prove to me is leave my Toyota at home and take the ford.
I'm going to say no for 90% of the year. If tge creeks and river are up but still cross able then yes. If you want to drive around in the riverbed dispersed camping spot south of Mason then yeah probably to be safe.
For me to sit and watch anything for 3 hours straight through is a big ask, I usually can't sit still that long. I watched your whole video without pausing it. I live in Washington, so that's why I originally started to watch. Thank you for showing us parts of the country we normally don't get to see. I'm glad you got to see the beauty of my state I love so much 😊
Great video! When are you going back? Best video I’ve seen on this to date ! I’m here visiting from Long Island at my brothers who lives in Fort Mill SC with my Tacoma. Next time I come back bringing all my gear for this trip!
When you come back let me know. I’m out of Charleston but get upstate often. If I can get off, I’ll be glad to do it with you. I’ve got a double locked jeep on mud tires with a winch and a bunch of recovery gear including a ground anchor.
Nice pic. Got to ask why youtube hikers never carry a machete, makes bush wacking a lot more efficient. At least for this ole man never go in the wood without one.
There is no camping allowed at Fort Fisher. You are allowed to be out there overnight but not "officially" camping. You got lucky that the rangers didn't make you leave!
Actually I've asked the Rangers specifically about camping in a vehicle and they only restrict ground camping. That was the 5th time and usually we have a group of 3 vics.
