While the last two Indy movies were okay at best, I find Mutt's character to be killed off in my view refreshing. We are right now, as of 2024, in a Superhero Era where its common to see the Hero(s) live on to see another day. Mutt was a interesting new face, bringing hope that we would see a continuation of the Indy universe. However like how Life is, some of the most interesting, bright, charismatic youth that you want to see grow up and live out their potential sadly die before we can see a final product. It's just a reminder of how cruel life can be, and that not every story will go on to last 100 Chapters and have no grand finale.
Very good acting! Shia talked crap about Kingdom of the Crystal skull, and that angered Steven Spielberg. You try to promote the movie, not talk crap about it to the media. Spielberg did not want him in the film, and that's how they wrote it. I'm okay with it, as Mutt's character was a punk, and so was Shia
Well, Arnie had to talk this nonsense because it's probably in his contract as an actor to praise and advertise a product, no matter how shitty it is. That movie is a modern 90s Camp style.
Honestly. I always thought the US Mario 2 was better than what Japan got. Yeah it’s a reskin of another game, but it did things differently enough while still feeling Mario-esque. The Japanese Mario 2 was just more of the original essentially.
Unbelievably, by today's standards, I expected a bofe from this, but it's a very good movie. It took me back to the days of The Last Crusade. It's on par with an Indiana movie.
That's hilarious. Loved them bumping into each other headed to the batcave. Safety bat belt? That was awesome. Also the Arnold commentary was so funny.
I hated what they did with Mutt. It makes no sense. The rebellious biker punk, who: -brandishes knives at authority and calls them pigs - couldn't hold structured institutions like college because it was a waste of time.... ...Is going to join the U.S. millitary, and be told by the "man" when to get up, march, do drills just to "Piss off his father", at 30-31 years of age. And of his mother Marion? Whom he: - Was worried about her being killed by the russians, so he tracked down Indiana Jones to help. - was relieved beyond words when he found her at the camp alive -gets furious when Indy says, "There are a lot of Marys" -shields her with his own body when Spalko shoots at them with an AK.... ...Is going to disregard Indys warning of Marions grief, even potential death if he dies.... yeah right. This was straight up out of character for Mutt to do. You cant say he would have changed his mind and matured in the 12 years between skull and dial, if he is doing something petty and immature as a freaking 31 year old man. Sure, Indy ran off to join WWI to avoid his dad, but remember he was 16-17 years old, NOT 31, and he lost his mom Anna years prior. She was the glue that held the jones men together. Without her, the relationship between Henry Sr and Indy was rockier than ever. Mutt still had HIS mom, whom he loved very much. Why put her through this grief? Why risk your life on the front line just to "piss off your father"? This left a sour taste in my mouth when i saw it in the theater. To be honest, it felt really wrong. But what do i know? I've only seen crystal skull dozens of times.
Good writing? What is Schwarzenegger on? Is he on drugs? If that film has good writing then why did it get rebooted? Why did so many people get angry when it was released? That movie never ever needed to be released in theatres
@michaelmyers1621 he knows nothing about quality. He has been paid to say that about all the movies he's done why is batman and robin an exception to the rule? That film should not have been made.
How does anyone think this fits with the same Indiana Jones that we saw in the original three films? Or are you people seriously that much of a bunch of mindless window licking consumers that you can’t see the problem with turning the thinking man’s James Bond into a sad old drunk? Believe it or not it’s okay to have a story end on a high note with a ride off into the sunset. You don’t need to deconstruct every last character that’s ever existed.
There's something about Ford's delivery of those lines that makes me always root for him,the character I mean,so flawed, broken and true to life's bullshits.
Happy Memorial Day 2024 to Mutt Williams and his fellow fallen and missing brothers-in-arms in the Vietnam War. I am convinced that during the Vietnam War, Mutt fathered a half-Vietnamese Amerasian child or _bụi đời_ with a lover, but neither Mutt nor his parents would know about the kid before his death or disappearance in Vietnam. If _Indiana Jones_ does get revisited with Expanded Universe materials set after _Dial of Destiny_ (2023), perhaps Indy and Marion meeting their long-lost grandchild could be a potential story. I would not mind watching a Helena Shaw spin-off miniseries where she discovers Indy and Marion’s long-lost grandchild and helps their family become whole again.
