Just to clarify, this engine is between 70 and 80 years old. Ive owned it for a very short time and it doesnt run. Im not sure the last time the oil was changed.
How old is the lifter? And you are now doing an oil change. Yeah, don't listen to him. The oil should have been changed every 3-5 years. Did you even warm up the lifter before you started the oil change?
Ive had my 426 running on 10-40 for years now. When i stripped the head after flooding it, literally nothing was wrong, the valves, lifters, crank case, all were spotless except the water flooding 4 cylinders, im a firm believer on adding atf maybe 1/2-1qt every 3-5k just to help clean stuff out like that. I now have 170k miles on a 6.1 based 426 and have had no issues at all. Never even had to replace the pushrods or valves after the flood
These are NOT hit and miss engines. This is a single cylinder diesel engine. These engines were running before you were born and will, with good care, run well after your passing. An EMP event will not affect it in any way.
With age you will always have build up with hydrocarbons. Which is why he probably opened it up for a PM 3000-6000hrs id assume or bearing failure 🤷♂️ lol
Happy you enjoyed, yes these old engines are pretty cool. Plus the people who collect them are pretty cool too. This hobby has some of the kindest people
im not a boiler expert, but from what I seen it wasn't to bad. I Didn't see and rust holes. Did notice the steam cylinder had a crack other than that not too bad
I posted on my community page a picture of the tag on my stover, youtube for some reason will not let me post a picture in the comments. Hope this helps
lots of steam engines in need of work in southern Ontario both in public and private hands, but the cost of boiler repair or replacement has gone through roof in the last 5 yrs or so
the steam engine could of been a straw burner. They usually had a brick arch in there for straw but when it got old or damaged it was taken out and they just burnt wood or coal. kind of an odd duck seeing that brand out west.
2nd Tank is an M60A1. Tank commander cupola had a m85 50 caliber. The small hole next ot the main gun (left) was for a coax m240 machine gun. Great tank.
@@tylerthon2214 yours have the fast hitch , I like them because they made several implements for them , blades buzz saws and carry all pads and 2 bottom plow have that and other implements to.
