great conversation. Mr. Shemchuk doesn't overuse his words and never says something decorative. He can either say something or not say anything. a lot more of that kind of talk is needed in art these days.
I'd never heard of this gentleman before. As an arist, his work very much so, resonates with me..and my visual language. Thank you for introducing him to me. As well I have become very captivated with Michael Shemchuk! If I wasnt so darn poor financially, after a famous musician ripped me off of all my lifework..I would be pounding on Shems door, to take every workshop available! I too am definitely a multi-media artist! Please accept my gratitude, for exposing such wonderful creatives fo me!
Love this guy so much. ❤ So good to hear someone talk about their art and be so real and down to earth. Been contemplating an artist statement with dread, I might add, but now I'm feeling it can just be real and not all the fru fru added. But enough about my thi king... I love the work of Michael Shemchuk,, and I could gaze at it all day. The surfaces look luscious even on my phone. Amazing work, just stunning.❤ I would love to see it in person someday.
Excellent, honest, and a perfect way to begin my day. Using every material and tool to make art is inspiring, so good to get one's hands dirty in the studio. Great sharing. Thank you.
Thank u!!!!❤wow so incredibly helpful and interesting!!!for a new artist like myself im sso engrossed in hearing about process, its fascinating and im so grateful for your sharing your knowledge, so thank u so muxh! Loving these videos!!your work is really wonderful!
it’s always interesting to hear the process of an artist when they create. i love what you’re doing here! looking forward to seeing more 💗 also want to say how much i appreciate this artist’s work. he states that he doesn’t try to assign feelings to his pieces but there’s substantial energy that his art emits. it’s a natural imprinting, it seems. i felt a sense of overwhelm (in the best way) when he started talking about his experience with encountering a wall. there’s something so remarkably beautiful about seeing what no one else can and bringing it to life.
Excellent interview, insightful questions, steady pace, lots of time for the artist to respond. Respectful & expertly done. Thank you, learnt so much. Please do more.

Sorry I couldn't be there when live, but I watched everything tonight and really enjoyed John's presentation. So glad you record these, Alan. The Q & A session was really gratifying--I appreciated John's candor and thoughtful responses.
Extraordinary work! It took a great deal of courage to change direction with the work that was selling in order to remain challenged and stimulate growth.
