I'm Ryan, I love to collect whiskey, review whiskey, and break down the science behind how whiskey is made. If you want to support the channel then head on over to Patreon and get involved there: patreon.com/user?u=83518521
Again a pass I’m no longer going to spend excessive amounts on alcohol. Regardless of how good it may be. I passed on a Bookers that doesn’t come around my area but I just can’t justify 100 for a bottle. There are just so many other options for way less. I’d rather buy Rare breed and Knob creek single barrel for the rest of my life and I know I’d be happy with that. Nice review but it seemed like you don’t believe it’s worth this price will it get better that’s just an unknown and with the added juice is the price going to continue to go up.
Tv, couldn’t agree more brother. Ordered this through Seelbach’s and it’s fantastic all around - proof, price, taste. This is a creamy vanilla caramel drizzle bomb. So well balanced.
That’s been my thought for the bourbon as well why the price hike. Both should be at best 40 dollars. Was the toasted good sure but not 50 dollars good.
Dave is an absolute legend. My old man especially loved it, made for a good huddle up at the fire pit and we were blown away with every sip. 7.8 is def a fair assessment too, def isnt for everyone. By brother could NOT haha. Glad you enjoyed it as much as i did!
All bottles are decisive it’s about your palate and if you like finished juice. I can take some but others not so much. Could that change over time sure. It’s the price that would keep me from buying these. I understand that it’s craft and they are putting their heart and energy into these but I’d be more interested in say 50-60 a bottle. And these are certainly a try before you buy for me.
Most of the spirits direct from TW have been trash, but this sounds promising. Although, I picked up their 120 proof Wolcott Rickhouse Reserve for only $40 and was fairly impressed. It's also distilled by Barton 1792.
Great series. The “exploration age” and the “maturation age” of the bourbon journey is real and relatable. I started in 2019…I’m now entering the “maturation age” where I know what I like and what i absolutely don’t like. I love rare finds just like the next guy but now I know what will be a waste of my money based on my palate.
I haven’t had a bad River Roots yet. They have a single malt that is some of the best whiskey I’ve ever had and I’ve been drinking for over 45 years and I don’t drink junk bottles.
Careful, Ryan. Don’t be surprised if you find the port finish bottle empty on the counter after Goah hears you called it “foxy” and let it be kissin on you 😂. All seriousness, love this format, and I think I could get down with all of these. Quite a lineup!
I asked a question last night that I think got skipped over. How many different bottles of whiskey do you have? 😁not including samples/duplicates. Just your own personal bottles
If someone is a hardcore OWA fan, this should keep them going while waiting for that bottle. 106 vs 107 proof, heavy wheat mash, I’ll need to have more of it to state with authority that it’s could even be better
Love this series, Ryan. Can’t wait to see the next. By the way, those barrel lids would look good hanging on the wall. Jealous of your whiskey space, there, sir. :)
