I notice that they don't include amp models on the HX Effects (understandable, since they want you to go up to the $699 device if you want that). I'm mainly a rhythm player, and I'm currently using a Line 6 Floor Pod Plus, which includes some amp simulations. This box will replace my Floor Pod, plus a Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator, a Boss RC-3 Looper, and a Boss TU-3 tuner (I was also considering buying a Digitech Drop, but this includes that feature, as well). I usually go straight into a PA, so I'm wondering what your thoughts are on not having the amp models, and relying on the built-in overdrive and distortion effects. 🙂
Hi Justin, 'live' time sometimes is sketchy, when watching from Europe, often get notification too late, but I do watch the videos, later ! Hope to catch live, when possible, time difference is like 7/8/9 hours depends on the period of the year, and US time zone... Hope you're doing ok! Take care Rock on!
My workhorse is 72 Les Paul Custom i got in 73 from my teacher but if i could choose anything i think it would be a 59 Les Paul Cherry Burst Standard like the one Duane Allman had. PIPE DREAM !!
Only one...? That's cruel. Well, it has to be a Telecaster for me. But I love Gibsons as well. I'm envious of your 335. You made a good choice. Well done.
Hi Justin! One guitar ? The 80's ARIA Pro II (2nd gen) "RS 850" that was stolen from me in the 90's, just after I recorded my first self-produced album! Take care!
Hey Justin can u think about doing a video on the gear u use on gigs and tours for electric guitar playing but more like the tech stuff, the stuff outside the pedals, guitars and amps...like the cases, the wireless (if used), needed accessories etc
46 seconds in and you've already mentioned Nashville twice. I stopped watching, because in EVERY video you post, it's always the same... Nashville, Nashville, Nashville. How old are you anyway? You look like a young man, but you act like a little boy. Living in Nashville doesn't make you any smarter, wealthier, or better as a musician than does living anywhere else. In truth, most musicians, singers, and/or songwriters who come to Nashville are soon left feeling dumber, poorer, and LESS capable musically than before they came there. While they try to network, gain notoriety, and establish an income, they first have to work for free in the city bars along side a throng of others fighting for a time slot. And if they stay long enough, they sacrifice their dignity and integrity chasing the stardom they think is THE prize that all performers live for. Not me! Sure, I was the same in my young and naive years. I was all in and destined for success. But I was too young and inexperienced in living life to even understand what success REALLY means. Believe me when I tell you that Nashville doesn't equal success. And name dropping it reveals your immaturity and inexperience. It makes you look and sound silly, unprofessional, and inexperienced instead of what YOU think it accomplishes. My advice to you... get out there and beat the road performing in the heartland. Cut your real Country music teeth where you should... IN THE COUNTRY, not the city. Pay your dues in the honky tonks and rub shoulders with the people and the life that Country songs are about. Fall in love. Start a family. Establish a career and a real life and LIVE it. Then, when you have real knowledge about real life concerning what success really is, if the city of Nashville facilitates an advantage to you in that career and life, move to Nashville.
I finally got a Custom at a reasonable price recently, a 2010 with some gig wear and some cosmetic scratching and that nice slim modern neck profile. Customs are like Tele's though, they always wear aging so well, enhancing rather than detracting from their appeal. They re like the Silver Fox of guitars, paging like fine wine and always wearing their tuxedo with elegance. It was instant love. I could sell everything else and just keep the Custom. I'm not going to, cos I don't need the money, but if I had to, that Custom would keep me happy. I'm finally done. I don;t think I'll ever buy another guitar, LOL !!
I guess it if it's only one, it would be a triple neck. lol.. 59 burst on top and a 50s tele in the middle, and that friggin rocketship you are playing in this vid! how did I do? haha. cheers from maine bro! Great playing as always!
❤my dear music friend, the recently departed Jerry Miller had a beautiful ‘61 L5 Florentine and he played that Dickens out of that guitar until the day died. I miss that man.
Love the Peterson. I have those pedals, but use my main pedal board as acoustic too. The vertex boost I have is great to thicken up the tone. Travel safe, if you guys are coming to Ohio, let me know, I will come out to support you if I am free.
I was just at Well Strung Guitars in Farmingdale Long Island NY two weeks ago. I was there for a few hours playing guitars from $12,500 to $500,000. My 2020 58 custom shop Les Paul played and sounded better than one of many 58’s at $435,00. There not worth that kinda money. This world is full of suckers. That $50,000 guitar is no better than a custom shop one. Overrated, overpriced if that is what you need, so be it.
Boomer-bait is all these vintage instruments are. Some people are willing to pay out the nose for nostalgia and/or prestige. Anything to get them closer to the "better days", and anything to impress their gear-elitist friends to better fit in. Younger generations, in general, don't want them because they are way over priced and a new/er guitar sounds just as good. The very few that do are doing so in response to social pressures and romanticizing music from before they were born. It's borderline pathological.
Im glad to see you playing it smart and keeping your babies safe you can always replace the reissue if something happens. You have a very nice collection there.
Fantastic Setup Man! More good tone in that room than anyone will ever need! Where's your acoustics? I remember you were playing a red J-45 at one point.
Who got your 69' Les Paul Custom? I would have bought that from you. Did you sell the 69', SG, 64 335 and the Jazzmaster along with the Diezal to get the 61'? Does Carter's have the 69' for sale? The 61' sounds incredible. Tasty playing as always!
Hell, you are a professional and it’s a tool. Think about it. The average contractor has a 70k pickup and tens of thousands in tools. You are going to make lots of money with that thing!
