I’ve been watching your stuff for a while big fan of your car fr I have a 2007 Monte Carlo ss myself only 106,660 miles around I’ve put 3k on it and I was wondering what kind of camshaft you in your Carlo mine already sounds like yours but I only have a muffler delete and resonator delete with exhaust tips but I want to cam it out and wanted what kind of can you got
@@starbattles1 yeah, sorry man. I’ve made plenty of videos after this one that I go into better depth. That was one of the things I look back on and think I should’ve done better with that one.
How long did this take you to do? Saw you had text that said "2 years" and "2 days". I gotta '04 Sedan and its doing the same thing yours was, but I don't want it out of the car too long.
@@JohnMetril I had the headliner out of the car for over 6 months trying to narrow down a leak it had. All in all it only took like 2-3 days if I had all the materials and supplies needed. As you can see, that didn’t happen lol.
That’s cool dude, I got that thing when I was like 7, so it was a little emotional when I sold it but we got the four wheeler now so.. I’d say a good trade off.
I actually got it off of Amazon, a supplier who sells a multitude of different materials and colors. Here's the link to it - ru-vid.com?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbkhDQjY3YURiTG9RV0Q5SC1KN1drYzFCbGJfZ3xBQ3Jtc0trT21HeWRkMlZsNmV2S3plZW9WZDdDZnZCdm4yYmFEZExJVE9BMEVZSVBJbUt4d2xIc2JIVnRHOFV6ZTVWdXZFTjE1bWN1d2g4R1JLS0Nza0RwaTZQX1JIc2ptN2o1NzJ2a3g4RlVfOE1OekphckZCbw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fa.co%2Fd%2F2gi2GKQ&v=PdhapK74VgI
I would love to have one of these but would probably see if the earlier front clip could fit. I feel like the refresh took away some of the character the Monte had.
@@27Zangle You can for sure fit the older style front clip on it. It’s only crash support, fenders, front bumper cover and hood. But I do agree with you on the older style gave the Monte a more distinct look and didn’t look so much like the impala.
Hello young man I love Chevy avalanches myself I think I own five maybe six I lost count because I have some at the ranch and some here at my house but one thing that this video turns me off really really bad is when you say God and then blank just remember God‘s last name is not damn so don’t get caught up because we are living in the end of times so I ask you my brother please repent and ask forgiveness for your sins so you can be in heaven with the rest of us and may the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth bless you and your channel amen. Hi there! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for your kind words. I truly appreciate your passion for faith and your concern for others. Your message is a good reminder of the importance of being mindful of the words we use. I'll definitely keep that in mind moving forward.I'm glad to hear you're such a big fan of Chevy Avalanches-owning that many is impressive! I hope you're enjoying them to the fullest, both at the ranch and at home.Wishing you all the best, and may you continue to find strength and peace in your faith. God bless you too!
@@bigfornoreason1GM had 1 job lol. They went through the effort of putting an LS4 in a newer W body and stuck the v6 transmission behind it that already had issues.
I drove one for 18 years. Abused the hell out of it to. The good is that the engine can be run ragged and still holds up. It is a good car to play around with on the track, but that is about it. It is a heck of a car to mod. GM cut corners on everything besides the engine. The seats have no grip and fall apart. The interior doesn't hold up. Everything is cheaply made on the inside. If you put on a cold air intake and mod the pulley size then your supercharger will wear out quicker. The Teflon on the blades will start to break down once you get close to 100k-150k depending on how your drive it. Then it won't hold much boost. So if you decide to put a lot of miles on the Supercharger then expect to have to rebuilt it sooner than later. The suspension sucks. The car is pretty clunky to drive. You will want to replace it all and the brakes suck. The rotors tend to get very hot and warp eventually. Wheel hop is terrible and you need to mod the traction if put more HP into it. You will bust the crap out of your front suspension without some mods to reduce wheel hop. So ultimately the only thing that is cool is that it is a Supercharged 4 banger. Everything else about the car is not that great. After 200k on mine it will cost so much to fix everything that I just got rid of it. People drive these things into the ground and they are pretty expensive to get back to good operation once they are warn out. You can take that money and buy a naturally aspired 4 banger that gets more HP at this point.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Cobalt SS! Sounds like you really put it through its paces over the years. It's good to know the engine holds up even after all that time, but I totally get the frustration with everything else breaking down, especially with the interior and suspension. The Teflon wearing out on the supercharger is a solid heads-up for anyone considering mods. Seems like you really got your money's worth, but I can see how it would get expensive to keep it running after 200k. Appreciate the insight man.
@@They_Live_While_We_Sleep yep, GM gave the “W” bodies a ls4 and decided to keep them FWD just like in the 6 cylinder ones. Kinda unique, but takes away from the experience a little.
In the rear storage box there is another rubber tab to pull and itll drop a small hatch which holds the tool box , most likely its in there . Open it and look closely .
Raise truck with floor jack, just body. Raise so that wheels are contacting ground but body goes up. Then adjust screws then let body down measure to you get desired stance
I would absolutely love to do that, problem is where I live. Not many people have fast or cool cars for that matter. I hope to do a video where we drive out to a known good car scene and do some races.
In the winter they usually add ethanol also I would find vp octane booster oreillys has it works great if not find a hospital and get fuel at nearest station usually doctors nurses drive 91 octane it will be fresh
I have a red one and I love it! You have to be easy on the gas when you first take off. Too much of spinning the wheels can hurt the trans I literally drive with my big toe haha it's fast
The FWD is the deal breaker for me. If i was looking for a car comparable, i would go with the mid 2000's GTO or G8. And besides the GTO was available in a manual. Whats more fun than that?
F body 98-2002 is the shit 500 hp in those cars dominated ms3 cam prc 5.3 heads mamo ported fast intake nick Williams throttle body 410 gears 3500 stall king to this day even coyotes have trouble beating them
I have a '07 MCSS. I love that car. Only thing I've had to rebuild the trans and the engine. That dumb Active Fuel Management trashed a lifter. But since those 2 jobs she's been running like a champ.
Yeah, when GM put D.O.D. In the cars and trucks, it was just a terrible idea. I haven’t seen one of those engines last over 80k miles with the original set of lifters. They still do it on the trucks that I’m aware of and they still have the same issues.
Wait, at around 5:00 minutes you say you haven’t had it tuned. How could it be making over 100 hp more than stock without telling the ECU there are parts capable of doing that? Just bolting on parts without telling the engine what’s been changed is not conducive to power gains. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Grand Prix version of these cars and I’d love to know more about this particular build.
Thanks for your comment man. You're right that tuning is essential to fully realize the potential of performance mods. While the video may not have covered it in detail, I've actually been running a conservative tune to accommodate the new parts. The extra power you're seeing is partly from the aftermarket parts and some minor adjustments I've made, but a proper tune will definitely be the next step. I appreciate your interest and will definitely share more about the build and future plans!"
We had a guy in Indiana who specializes in these 4t65e trans’. I can’t remember off the top of my head what the name of the shop was but I’ll do some digging.
Dave at tep is one of the nicest guys I've met in the car world. Built the 4t65e in my 08 impala ss few years ago and still going strong. Dave is the man!
