Add Free railway based youtube channel focusing mainly on railways although Some other stuff might appear at times aswell but the majority of stuff is mainly railways where i film at stations and occasionally film Rail Journeys from station to Station. Is there a first class section on this type of train ? I have just booked a first class ticket from Glasgow Queens Street to Edinburgh then on down the East Coast Main Line. Obviously the main train souith LNER has first, which is why i booked it, but I was wondering about the trip from GLQ to EDB
Yes Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley services contain First Class. This one in the video was filmed when Engineering works wer taking place at the time
Great video, really captures the speed. Imagine going that fast DBSO first and hitting a cow on the line. Carnage. Happened outside Polmont many years ago, thinking about it too long would make you think twice about push-pull lol
Thanks and yes sadly it was a tragic crash. Thankfully the Glasgow to Edinburgh that day that had just left Falkirk managed to come to a standstill before it and I think was the one that raised the alarm of the derailment
@@ThomasWhiteford aye that's correct, sorry for the off-hand comment. It always triggers me a wee bit seeing these trains again because I was actually travelling on the previous Queen St - Edinburgh train that day, I was only a kid with my mum, we were coming back from Glasgow, but I remember we passed a push-pull going the opposite direction outside Edinburgh which must have been the unfortunate train.
Ole Restrictions on the Ecml prevent it tbh Ecml can't handle high amounts of voltage at the same time due to a design issue but they have a plan to correct the issue
Just the Ecs Moves. 1 happens during the Week at Central the Shotts 158 joins up with the East Kilbride 156 and joins to a form an Ecs Move to Corkerhill
My dad used to get these kind of trains in from Bathgate everyday pre-electrification. I am originally from there so that’s why a lot of the things I say are about it. I miss the frequent diesel services in the central area of Scotland in general, honestly. If only they were route cleared beyond Airdrie
I do also. It Came off an Aberdeen service at Queenstreet. Think the reasons it was stopped was low usage and the Capacity on the E&G being Strengthened with the 385,s
I’ve heard the 170s ran the Shotts line a couple of times, wonder if it will ever happen again, I miss diesels in Bathgate/Livingston. The turbos and sprinters ran to Bathgate before the new link. Again, wonder if they’ll ever run there again
There’s actually a Cross Country HST going from Glasgow Central to Penzance today instead of Edinburgh to Plymouth. I don’t think Cross Country have operated a HST to Penzance for a while
