This is probably one of the best ambience videos ive found, the darker ambience is balanced perfectly by the, at times, humorous and relatable radio chatter.

@@pata.s.4040Hi! I have been playing (A)D&D and Pathfinder for the past 20+ years and that is my first contact with Modiphius 2D20 System. Thus far my group and I have played a few sessions and I like it very much. For me as DM the creation of encounters and skill tests as the central aspect of the game is very intuitive (creating “truths” that raise or lower the difficulty of the tests) is very intuitive. I also like the range-system which offers a new approach versus the ft-counting of D&D and I also like the meta-currencies “Momentum” (for the Players) and “Threat” (for the DM) which can support in decisive moments. There is a big focus on the “character” of the player character itself that ties in on the game mechanics of the game (defining aspects of the player character). And then there are focuses (as life-experiences of the PC e. g. “Close-combat-Pro”) that tie in to the skill tests when making specific skill tests (like here, e. g. when fighting an enemy with a knife). There the books doesn’ t describe this aspect very good/elaborate and it is up to the Player and the DM to fill this chapter with life. But on the other hand you have much freedom of movement when doing so and use your creativity instead of using pre-generated information at every step of the game.. What needs to be adressed by the DM mastering a 2D20 Homeworld RPG is the loot thing. You don’ t find gold, magic scrolls and swords so what do you offer the players in a Sci-Fi Setting to give the PC an opportunity to spend their RU (resource units = gold) for and to advance the character? There the DM has to be creative, pumping up the specs of their own corvette would be a thing, building new tech-gear like a power-cell-powered marine armor, scout drones or the like would come in handy. Parallel to that, the PCs should have an interest to advance in the military ranks, so the DM should also give his attention to that. I combine the Homeworld Fleet Command board game for big scale battles, pause the board game and “zoom in” to let the Players do sone decisive, action orientated task. When this is resolved, the board game continues. It is also posdible the other way round… All in all I like it very much! AND you will need a group of players that likes Sci-Fi and is not all-in into classical/high fantaysy...

@@pata.s.4040 I definitely do recommend the 2D20 System and the Homeworld campaign setting. The rulebook provides all the information needed to create an immersive Homeworld experience. I do combine the rpg with the Homeworld Fleet Command board game, so that my group switches between the roleplaying with their player-characters aboard the ships and doing ship battles on a bigger scale using the minis from te board game.

I would love to work on a project where me and a few people just make realistic radio chatter with its own lore for the express purposes of creating ambient tracks like this.

Then do it, man. All you would need is a Discord channel (for discussing the project and building a community). A few friends (online or otherwise). A script for your story elements. A RU-vid channel to post content onto. And Audacity (which is free) or some other audio editing/recording software.

i have always thought about something like that. i always kinda tend to just imagine a lot of radio chatter in my head and what could be said just random scenarios. usually a mixture of voice lines from games like star wars empire at war, homeworld, starcraft stuff.

man I could not disagree more. This is perfect. honestly the radio chatter could be even more spread out. Most radio chatter ambience videos makes the radio chatter way too constant. This does a good job of spacing it out some, but it could be even more spaced out.
