[3] At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison- I’m praying Colossians 4:2-3 today because I know God wants to save more souls! I’m praying that he would open a door and when he does that I would speak freely the Good News!
Daniel 9 was the EXACT verse I was thinking about!! “At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.” Daniel 9:23 ESV This verse encourages me to pray because it reminds me that our Father hears and cares so deeply for our prayers!
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 “pray without ceasing, [18] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” This verse encourages me to have a mindset of faithful consistent prayer in all circumstances. It can be tempting to pull away but believers always have access to him regardless of our circumstances. Not only that, but the circumstances are within Gods control. So go to him always.

What to pray for - my brothers and sisters abound in love, knowledge and discernment Why to pray for it - so they can approve what is excellent and be pure on the day Jesus returns!

(James 5:16, ESV) This verse helps me confess my sin to my fellow brothers. Before I was saved I used to hide my sin and only deceive myself. It’s so encouraging that the word of God opposes us to do the opposite. Not hide our sin, but confess it. So that we can pray along side each other to grow in our salvation and resist the flesh.

1 Peter 5:6-7 encourages me to pray by just thinking about how our holy, all powerful, creator actually cares for little me and hears my prayers! “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
John 15:16 English Standard Version You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Luke 18:1-8 is one of my favorite passages on prayer! I love that the Lord desires for us to not give up! He desires our faithfulness to be lived out through the persistence and He never grows annoyed with our asking.
I love using Ephesians 3:14-21 as a prayer for spiritual strength for my family and my brothers and sisters at church. I say their name one at a time in the prayer and get down on my knees to pray it. But if I'm too tired to kneel, I say, "I kneel my heart before the Father..." "For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Amen.” Ephesians 3:12, 20-21 These verses encourage me greatly in prayer. We have complete access with confidence to our Father because of Jesus! And God is able to answer our prayers far beyond what we are even thinking or asking. God rewards faith, and loves to give good gifts to His children; if only we ask!
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. My prayer is that He who hears will forgive. Isaiah 59: Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: The difficulty is with us when we try to hide our sin, when we pretend to be what we are not. These verses encourage me to pour out my heart to Him who knows me better than I know myself. Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean. Hear, and forgive.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” James 5:13-18 ESV This scripture has full understanding of the call to prayer in all scenarios and situations. That this is our response when things are going good, to give praise and thanks to the Lord, and when things are not going good, to trust the Lord in faith that he will work it all out for good.
1 Kings 9:3 [3] And the LORD said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. These past two chapters along with this sotd have been stirring my heart up to pray! Not just to pray my own thoughts or desires but to pray back to God his own words and his desires. Solomon wasn’t making up his own prayers but he was praying what God had already said in the Law and what God said to him in 1 Kings 6. As I’ve been chewing on the sermon from this past weekend and specifically 1 Peter 5:5 that we are to clothe ourselves in humility toward one another and that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. I’m praying for our fellowship groups this week and for our whole church to have this mind and clothe ourselves with humility. Praying that we would take to heart his warning to the proud but also his offer of grace to the humble!
I love praying Scriptural prayers for myself, my loves ones, my FG, my church. Colossians 1:9-12 is one of my favorites--praying for spiritual wisdom, walking worthy, pleasing God, being fruitful, strength, joy, thanksgiving. It is so encouraging to pray Scripture because I know I'm praying for the things that matter most, and I know that I am praying according to God's will.
“You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules. I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!” Psalm 119:4-8
Often when we pray, we direct our misguided request to celestial Santa Clause and expect it to be answered or fulfilled, rather than to our all knowing and powerful God, who …"works all things together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." So in answer to the request of one of my favorite examples of "prayer answered" is 2Cor.12:7b & 8-9," So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given to me in the flesh. --- Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Knowing that God wants all to reach repentance keeps me praying for my loved one’s salvation 🙏🏻❤️

Two verses have been teaching me lately: John 3:30 He must increase, I must decrease. Isaiah 41:10. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. A verse I’m using to share with my children so they aren’t afraid.
This sermon is also a great combination with last week's message. Love even those who are not loving you back. Still showing grace, love and forgiveness. Literally wrote it with a pen in my car on the dashboard. 🫶 Amen to that prayer! Hallelujah!!!
Thought this was interesting. 1 Kings 7:21 He set up the pillars at the vestibule of the temple. He set up the pillar on the south and called its name Jachin, and he set up the pillar on the north and called its name Boaz. Boaz was the first generation, in the line of David, to enter the Promised Land. Ruth 4:18-22 and Matthew 1:5-6 and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse, 6 and Jesse the father of David the king. Jehoiachin was the last generation, in the line of David, to be carried away into captivity, from the Promised Land to Babylon. 2 Kings 24:12 and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself and his mother and his servants and his officials and his palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign 2 Kings 25:16-17 As for the two pillars, the one sea, and the stands that Solomon had made for the house of the Lord, the bronze of all these vessels was beyond weight. 17 The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits,1 and on it was a capital of bronze. The height of the capital was three cubits. A latticework and pomegranates, all of bronze, were all around the capital. And the second pillar had the same, with the latticework. 2 Kings 25:27-30 And in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, graciously freed2 Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. 28 And he spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat above the seats of the kings who were with him in Babylon. 29 So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king’s table, 30 and for his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king, according to his daily needs, as long as he lived.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8 I hope this isn’t the cliche Christian answer but these verses changed how I view the Lord and his living word. I had to learn how to think biblically and this verse taught me that I need to check every single thought and expectation to the word.

By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. [14] But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. [15] This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. [16] For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. [17] But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. [18] And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
Psalm 33:11-12 11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. Praying for America to seek the Lord and His ways!
1 Corinthians 2: 6-9 Wisdom from the Spirit 6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”- Praying God leads us all to more wisdom and that this wisdom also leads us to be more forgiving like Jesus said. Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”[c] And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

SET YOUR MIND on things ABOVE, NOT on the THINGS on the EARTH. For you DIED, and your Life is HIDDEN with CHRIST in GOD.
