The long term plans are to reduce the amount of cars on the road. On Hillsboro they intend to build a multi-storey car park - but of course you will have to pay for that.
So much fraud surrounding this project, I’ve done enough research and gained enough evidence to win a court case ( in a perfect world) but these people own the courts, just as our government is owned and does their bidding without question 😕
Bridgend Council are not just out of touch, but they go against their own green agenda , this is dune land , and a green space, left after the Sandy Bay caravan park was scrapped. They want to develop it ,and to hell with any wildlife, and obviously the impact on Porthcawl's fragile infrastructure.
My dad owned the The Knights from 91 to 97. I was only kid but remember it being such a busy place. Porthcawl like most other towns died a death in the late 90s
Got any old pics of the Knights? Porthcawl people loved the Knights Arms. Yeah, a lot of the pubs/clubs have closed now. It is a ghost town compared to back in the day.
This is obviously so high level at the moment to be largely meaningless- in particular, a complete absence of any timelines or key milestones whether it be short, medium or long term - also no definition or even guidelines as to the duration of short, medium or long term- as a result until such detail becomes available, I remain highly sceptical that such proposals will ever come to fruition- certainly not in my lifetime in any case

Thanks but still not much wiser - I am aware Buccaneer has closed/ been sold and clearly vacant - in a state of disrepair/ likely to be demolished but as I say no reference to any timelines , key dates etc - excuse my cynicism but having spent my early years here , way back in the 70s/early 80s when the town’s development was first proposed and having returned approx 10 years ago and still very much a case of the status quo , I will believe when I see it Btw - what’s the significance of 2030 ?
@@huwjohn5540 Well, I hope your cynicism is correct. The fair & Sandy Bay has been bought already. 2030 = UN Agenda30. Stakeholder capitalism is behind that, like it is with the Porthcawl Placemaking Strategy. UN Agenda 30 is local, national and international. They want to turn Porthcawl into a 20 min neighbourhood - like a 15 min city. Both the stakeholder video and the 20 min neighbourhood videos are in the 6 regeneration areas of Porthcawl playlist.
A lot people think the scheme is awful - public consultations are a joke. They tend to run in stealth mode quite a lot. Treat us like mushrooms - keep us in the dark and feed us shit.

There was someone on one of the Porthcawl Facebook pages who offered to do the paperwork - to have Lizzy moved. But that someone else would have to do the actual moving job. That is quite a weight and in an awkward position to retrieve.
It seems to me housing in all its forms is the main focus of the place making agenda, combined with reduced car parking can only lead to the seaside character of old being totally destroyed. Words words words might fool many, the connections are slowly being revealed 🧐
The Evans family, of the funfair, have owned Sandy Bay beach and kept it clean for many years. I understand they have a 'Sandboni' beach cleaning machine. The reason it is known locally as 'doggy beach' is that the Evans family have always allowed dogs on the beach, unlike the council owned beaches which have restrictions in place. I believe that as a result of all the compulsory purchases being implemented in the area, (including the funfair), the council has acquired Sandy Bay? Perhaps the Evans family are being permitted to maintain Sandy Bay until the funfair closes?

When it talks of ‘start up businesses’ there’ll be No customers to guarantee any success, we’re already over subscribed with chip shops, cafes and businesses that are likely struggling. The only true statement is the obliteration of any spare land for profit, land that cost them nothing, land that was dedicated to public enjoyment, donated by the GWR in 36 and the other 256 acres donated by sir Raleigh Grey in 1920, all land subject to fraud with the blessing of government 🤷🏼
