If you listen to his prayer namaz youtube video you will hear him reading the smallest surahs of the Quran in very Persian Accent. He does know Tajweed at all. He sounds like an Irani Menu, Khorish Bodemjan, Gaymeh Sabzi, Tehdayg, Koobideh Kabob. Listen to him read Quran and then listen to any Imam of Makkah and Medina and you will hear the difference.
It is very unfortunate that you judge and denigrate a man of that stature solely because of how he pronounces the verses of the Holy Qur'an. Prophet Muhammad (S) knew that Bilal could not properly enunciate some of the words in the Adhan but he still gave him the honor of being the Mu'adhdhin. I humbly suggest that you don't judge people (anyone not just scholars) based on the outwardly because Allah is only aware of both the inwardly and outwardly of a person.

Sometimes we complain when things get tough. For some, specifically some, complaining to God can bring them closer to Him spiritually. If it doesn’t work with you or me that’s fine. But this is the prophet of God we complain, the prophet of our Umma ص, and our holy Imam atfs. If we complain to God about being unable to see them ( not too much complaining) we will definitely be more loyal to them.
