I am an amateur model maker specializing in scratch built science fiction vehicles and ships. i have been doing scratch building for the last two years and my aim is to try and marry together elements of sculpture with model making to produce work that could be at home both on a movie set and also in a gallery
Love the amount of details you put into your ships! The ship with part of the Millennium Falcon looks really cool. As far as the the rest of the context show, always cool to see someone with a Mothership landing bay from V.
My Gawd, Adam! I'm no expert, but I've watched a heck of a lot of scratch/trash bashings/model building YT vid's and your builds are up there with the best designs. It's criminal you don't have more sub's!!! I appreciate all types of modelling work, but the non-kit, one of a kind builds at the real peak to me. The SoV MKII would have looked spot on gliding up next to the Sulaco on screen and possibly out shining it. I think I've seen some where, the on camera light flicker is the LED lighting pulsing at a conflicting rate with the camera frame rate. I think if you adjust the camera frame rate, it over comes it and it goes away. But you did a good job avoiding it, so maybe not worth the muck about with settings. Thanks Adam!
Great stuff ! That was cool that Mat Irvine was there !! I would have liked to meet him - though I have emailed back and forth with him a few times over the years from the U.S. 👍 Thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing your footage from the model show. It looks like some pretty cool builds there! You big build is looking great also. It is pleasing seeing a new video pop up from your channel so I can check in on your progress🙂
I still absolutely love the Hyperion/Sword Of Vengeance 2. That is by far your best creation in my eyes. It just looks so menacing and it encapsulates a lot of things that I love about space ships - especially the front and mid section. If I may add a personal opinion here, I think the engine bells could've been a bit bigger as they seem a little bit too small for the size of the ship. Or maybe add some auxiliary thrusters to run along the sides? The new shuttle bay looks way better BTW. Regardless, it's a thing of beauty and you should be very proud of the outcome
thank you for your comments. as regards your observation on the size of the engine bells, in actual fact if this were a real ship, the size wouldn't matter. Because there is no atmosphere in space and therefore no friction or inertia, it wouldn't need a massive engine to thrust the ship forwards (massive engines are purely for aesthetic reasons in film and TV ) the proposed ion engine on the NASA interstellar probe is not much bigger than a standard car engine but could, in theory propel a ship to within 0.99% the speed of light, because once the ship is in motion there is no air friction to slow it down and it will continual to accelerate, in theory, for ever until it reaches light speed. (for a wonderful and terrifying story on just this subject read "TAU ZERO" by Poul Anderson in which an interstellar star ship is damaged and can't slow down ) in space size doesn't matter, if an object is set in motion it can cause tremendous damage if travelling at speed ( a fleck of paint could punch a hole in a space ship or you could move the death star with nothing more than a water pistol ! )
I think pretty much any space Sci Fi movie would be proud to have "The Sword of Vengeance Mk II" as a ship in their fleet! Well done Adam! Outstanding job Sir!
@@adamdryer4713 If you remember the VW Bug pod racer in the Scratch Build FB, group that is my stuff & i'm working on a post event of your choice used vehicle lot diorama.
Thrusters that burn fuel is ok. But try this, "Gravity Field Assist" I made that up. Its everywhere, right? Build gravity magnetic engines. No burn. You dream up the engine, ha!
Cooooooooooooooooooooool. I'd love to see your model having a cameo in an actual Star Wars movie or series or even in a well-done fan film. That's too gorgeous to simply sit on a shelf or in a display area. It needs to race across the galaxy and get into all sorts of trouble (while winning, of course). :)
