My favorite player growing up, reason I played 3rd base. What a time to be alive watching the A's in the early 2000's as a kid, Tejada too. Salute Chavy
Wow wow i remember playing baseball and buying mizuno batting gloves because of miguel tejada one of my favorite players for sure in that era of baseball.
I'm a massive Braves fan from the UK. When I started following baseball in 1990 I went with the Braves. I idolised Smoltz, he was the king for me. I even got a friend to get me a Smoltz jersey. But Atlanta had one of the greatest, if the greatest top three pitching rotation in baseball history. Then to see all three plus Chipper get on their first attempt shows just how much of a dynasty they were.
Great Yankee. One of the best free agent signings of all time. Also at the end of his career with Colorado he transitioned very well into a part time player and was extremely effective at doing so.
As much as I liked Glavine and Maddox, I LOVED John Smoltz the best when the Braves were winning all those NL East titles. He was a power pitcher with that un-hittable slider. I also enjoy listening to him when he provides color commentary during the post season games on Fox.

Vlad had a raw and effortless style that you just do not see much in the game in the day of age. His ability to throw players out at home and third from deep right field had people on the edge of their seats for his entire tenure in the league. His raw hitting style, being able to slap a ball out of the dirt, had pitchers of all tiers shaking in their cleats each time they saw him approaching the plate.
Best San Diego padre to ever grace the baseball diamond. A hall of fame baseball player AND a hall of fame person. I shed a tear when my dad told me the news about Tony Gwynn's passing. I'm a Phillies fan. And I enjoyed watching mr. Padre play the game how it's supposed to be played. Rest in peace Tony Gwynn. San Diego will miss you and baseball will miss you as well. This is coming from a Phillies fan. Tony Gwynn is the best.

Only one more World Series championship than the hated Red Sox in that period of time. Just as important is the Yankees last won in 2009 while the BoSox won in 2018.
Had the privilege of seeing him play live! Was a great time at the old stadium, hearing Bob’s voice say, “Number 11, Gary Sheffield” and watching the bat wiggle!
