Welcome, this channel has been created as a "Get well Project". 2020 has been a challenge for every one. I just hope my work gives at least one person a smile. Yeah I am Australian. Yeah its recorded in a garage, on old equipment. But that's what my channel is about. Not the basic how to videos, but more of the WHY? Why use that? Why make it that way? Not fancy, brand new, I get paid sort of stuff. But the simple, "home cooking style", relaxed view of everything. Get home, you grab a favourite drink. Sit and relax. So what's next. What do you want to do that's simple enough and it gets the job done. No crazy Mega Projects.
Do I get it right? No. Is there a better way? Yes most time. Can you do it different ? Yeah go for it. This channel if for that gap where you ask your self- Can this be done better. This is about quick and dirty DIY you could imagine could come from your garage..... If it was a computer game
Yeah. I keep making new worlds for the same issues. Hard lessons. Dive rails in to sections. On this build the train needs solid blocks. Loose crates are evil. LOL
@@hristogradinarski3799 You can leave 1 one block gap. More important is where legs are. One leg and gap per cell (256 Blocks) one of my latest videos shows my bridges.
My most mechanically interesting gearbox was using 3 triple shifters, with each shifter having an option to connect an increasing ratio, a decreasing ratio, and a straight transfer. Was kinda crazy how quick it changed gears tho hehehe
The planetary has a diameter of 3 on two lengths and a diameter of 1 (even though it doesn't look it) on 1 length, though since you're using it as a reducer you would need 3 full lengths outside of the engine for it to work.
You can also use paint, instead of pipes or blocks, to mathematically separate larger creations. I also paint every 16 blocks when I make monorails. Smooth as butter.
Use hybrid system such that there is 3 speed electric power 1st < 1:1 2nd = 1:1 3rd >1:1 directly power ice output then 3 speed at their combined output such that 1st = 1:1 2nd > 1st and 3rd > 2nd here at every ice gear their is electric power to pickup lower end of the gear this will be an amazing system to see
@@nyscersul42 I refuse to watch adds and I don't have the money nor will I give youtube my money to pay so that youtube wont give me adds. I'm on ssi and I am barly able to afford the roof over my head. At least they can live comfortably.
Great design, but just a quick tip, make the game a little less loud, i turned it up to hear you better, and then got a massive jumpscare once you where driving :D
The tracks and train are fully vanilla. The mod is fant mod. I mainly use the "Show tile" command to show when and were cells will load. Eg sensors on the track to trigger switches can't be too far away.
On the build above I forgot the electric capacitors and the turbos for the gas engines. The seven "SPEED'S" are due to the drop off of rpm. Electric rpm drops drops before the gas engine. This Creates 2 extra steps. 5 speed gear box + hybrid engine set up.
Have you tried to optimize your vehicle for "The long straight"? Cause I've managed to cross it in 13.027. Want to finish it in sub 13.. Btw, I've used 3 stage gearbox, 4 electric + 4 diesel enginees.
Any engine yes. Electric and turbo Gas engine hybrid can also add extra stages as the rpm of each type drops out. Behaves like 2 extra gears. Remember don't gear too high. Below 240 is best for racing.
Are the crates considered colored by default? If yes, you can have sensors high enough to detect the color, if there's any, and say: "Okay, the train's loaded. It's going toward the trader.", and switches you automatically?"
Nice info. I built a long rail in my world and gave in with it when my creations started disappearing on the rails. I hope your rails don't do the same.
My 4 speed was twice that size. Very Cool Design having the input and output on the shifter parts with the long axle to the side/top. WHERES THE TURBOS?
lol much cleaner than the one I built, but you’ve got more parts unlocked than I do. Definitely going to copy some of your solutions here, particularly the 2-1-1 gear set up. I was trying to figure out how to line things up for multiple speeds, and I was missing that. Basically ended up using 2 separate transmissions, one with a 2:2 and a 3:1 and the other on a separate shaft using 2:90° gear and 90°:2. (90° is basically a 1.5 gear) I’m not sure how the game chooses which gear set to access, I think it goes 1.5:2-2:2-2:1.5-3:1 meaning the gears aren’t actually sequential but flops back and forth between gear shifters. Weird setup, but it works. Getting near the same top speed you did but your acceleration is a lot better because you’re using better engines than I have access to currently.
I does hit each gear. Very quickly LOL and the last to hits of speed 6 & 7 are when the electric engine and then gas engine turbo die out to leave the gas engine finishing the speed wind out.
This is MUCH more compact than my design, I have direct drive from my engine going through a 6 speed and I don’t spin in first really but I did incorporate 4wd, the game tells me my top speed is over 600kph however my laptop isn’t powerful enough to run the game past 15-30fps so I haven’t gotten out of 3rd gear 😅
LOL. Update for above I forgot the Turbos and Capacitors. I also stage the engine with medium to small before the gearbox. It will drop marks in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. With a top speed of 240. You can win any race on that build.
Thanks for the idea. In SM parts can collide INTO other parts if mass and speed are big enough. You can crash INTO trees. Ie The tree stuck in your creation. I have had the pin simply slice into platform and stop. Blocks to stop the pin from falling out are likely to pop straight out through the platform if it was going fast enough to lift the pin.
This was really cool! Found this while trying to see what a planet gear does, but as this video shows, it's just another gear shifter. I will definitely be trying this! You are very underrated. :)
The planetary gear can be a reducer or to increase rotation, In robotics they are used to reduce rotation speed. By using more revolutions on the drive (stepper) motor the resulting arm movement is more accurate and stronger at the same time in a very small space. They are also crazy strong as there are more gear teeth making contact at the same time. :) Look up ring gears for similar function. "Adam Savage Vault door" is an excellent video to watch.
