What is the closest homage to the original Bond Sub? Black Bay 58 is close in design, a few from Steinhart are too but there doesn’t appear to be anything that replicates it exactly?
Really great video bro, very clear the difference between 504 and 507... I'll buy the 507 ventair maybe in white, to me is a more elegant style than 504
Actually, according to Ian Fleming himself, the watch James Bond actually wears is a standard Rolex oyster perpetual. The misconception comes from the fact that Fleming himself was known to wear a Rolex explorer model 1016. However, this did not exist until 1959 the first mention of 007 wearing a Rolex is in 1954 live and let die which takes place in 1952. Fleming directly named drops the oyster perpetual as bond watch in on her Majesty Secret Service, but he never mentions the reference number
@@GentlemanMasterclass you’re welcome, and I wouldn’t call it ignorant said something that is a pretty common misconception. Fleming himself only states what model bonds watch actually is, in the novel on her majesty, Secret Service and so far as I’m aware, it is the only model where Ian Fleming directly states then model name of the watch. and every other watch description Ian Fleming gives throughout the series, he only gives general description of what the watch looks like, and the brand name. I believe any reasonable person who did not know Fleming, directly named the model, would assume that it was a Rolex explorer or submariner, especially considering Fleming mentions the watch being an oyster perpetual in a single sentence in the entire series. It’s extremely easy to miss.
I bought these today on August 10 th 2024. I am really not a shoe guy but I feel myself becoming one. These shoes are quite amazing and heck I am even thinking about running again
You did well with your new (vintage) King Seiko. I just purchased the KS44 1966 ( my birth year)version with the back croc strap. Mine will have minor blemishes like yours. However, i will do nothing to fix it. It just gives it that history of " who owned it before" vibe. I am delighted with my purchase, and I can't wait to receive it.
Exceptional show and tell on Bond’s first watch. And the Masonic symbol variant is nice! I wear my Tudor BB54 on a Seam Connery black, green, and red MN strap, closely resembling Sean Connery’s 6538 Submariner.
Yea. My black leathered bro Andy Tate aka Top G loves to wear black leathers. I know sometimes, he wears black leather chelsea ankle boots just like yours. You and him and I got similar taste. I love to wear black leathers a lot. I love all sort of black leather boots, too! From cowboy to biker boots, from dress boots to chelsea ankle boots, too!
@@fredlampher8154 you really need to make sure it’s the same one because there’s a multitude over the years with many different variations, subtitle and unsubtle. I bought as old as old can get.
This is how you handle a cocky BBC journalist www.google.com/search?q=bbc+interview+with+guyana+president&rlz=1C1GCEU_en&oq=BBC+interview+with+Gu&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBggBEEUYOTIHCAIQABiABDIICAMQABgWGB4yCAgEEAAYFhgeMggIBRAAGBYYHjIICAYQABgWGB4yCAgHEAAYFhgeMgoICBAAGAoYFhgeMggICRAAGBYYHqgCCLACAQ&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:46a57201,vid:RDv42L8-soA,st:0
I will say if you're going to buy Sperrys for a nice dinner or party, or what we call on the coast of Carolina, "your Sundy shoes," spend the extra money and buy the Gold Cup series....its like walking on a leather cloud. The lambskin insoles are absolutely luxurious. During covid a company flew me out to south Louisiana every month to test and assess oilfield workers. That was during the hurricane assault on LA so you couldn't find a rental car within 500 miles...so i decided to walk everywhere from the hotel i was stationed at. I was walking 90 miles a week around the towns i operated out of and i initially wore the standard $100 authentic original boat shoes...i blew a hole out the toe rather quickly, so i had to use my Gold Cups. They held up great...for many hundreds of miles in the hot and sweltering heat, rain, and humidity of South Louisiana and my shoes never once smelled bad or felt bad. I highly recommend the moving up to the Gold Cup line! (I am on my 4th set of tan GC's and LOVE THEM!)
Sweet purchase for sure. Modern Seiko can be so frustrating. And although most of Seiko's classic designs came from Suwa, I think this Daini model is just one of Seiko's most beautiful designs.
Little known fact, the watch in OHMSS shown here at 5:04 is actually a small crown, no hash mark, no crown guard sub with the crown pulled out. It's a blink and you'll miss it continuity break.
I got My same Colourway Vomero 17 today and these are my first Good Running shoes, Never felt such comfort before, Amazing Video and review, Keep up the good work!
Great vid.. i just got my Vomero 17 last night, same as yours here in Nike Saudi Arabia, cant wait to use it as alternate runners for my Pegasus 40. Moderate runner here
You're talking about a gentleman's masterclass but real gentleman don't wear Nikes on their feet. Remember Nikes are symbolism of slavery. Keep that in the back of your mind next time you lace up your favorite Swoosh. I bet you this guy runs around and calls himself a pharaoh too LOL f****** slave trader. Anyway real gentleman where either leather loafers or boots the only time a man wears a pair of sneakers is when he's working out in the gym and he doesn't wear Nikes

Funny to always claim that the Gruen is James Bond's watch... when there is no direct proof of this. First of all, there were many similar watches in those years. Then, the latest expertise on 4K films seems to point towards another watch model.
"Then, the latest expertise on 4K films seems to point towards another watch model." What other model? You tell me. Dell Deaton's pick has become the de facto pick because he was the one to vocally express his opinion and make a big claim. Those who speak win the war. I have a friend in Germany who agrees with you, but he refuses to use his real name publicly, show his face publicly, or speak about it publicly, so his opinion is dismissed, and no one other than me will have heard it. That's the way these things work.
@@GentlemanMasterclass Mr. Dell Deaton's proposals have been strongly questioned for years on specialist sites. Particularly on the AJB forum where Mr. DD preferred to delete all his posts and run away rather than respond with arguments to the counter-proposals made to him on his quest for 007's Mystery Watch! I also think I know - if I'm not mistaken - who your German friend is... Likewise on Rolex too, notably those owned by Ian Fleming, he was on the wrong side. I was recently able to read very in-depth expert opinions on the Rolex Watch Forum which I invite you to read. Moreover, regarding this Gruen watch, there is no formal proof that it is among Bond's watches. It was an American brand and may have been encouraged by that. As I have stated, the 60's saw quite a few similar watches. So, according to very precise details based on comparisons of cases, dials and other details, 007's mystery watch could be a Girard Perregaux 17 jewels. This proposal appeared very interesting and well-argued. This is what I can tell you.
I watched that movie once about a good decade ago. I remember enjoying it for what it was. Just because you mentioned that, I'll probably watch it again tonight. Thanks for informing me.
