I am a full time potter and part time filmmaker. I grew up here in Cornwall and am proud of my home, despite the fact I don't find fossils here. History is my new favourite thing (I've never had a formal history lesson in my life mind) and influences all my work. So does nature and I love the bugs and birds who I share my pottery with, however woodlice do get into my pots and die which is irritating; for them more than me I expect. I am growing a garden with beloved Sholto.
Sholto is a physics teacher. He gets genuinely excited about numbers and loves electronics. His hobbies include making bows (I like archery too and all things handcraft, so there are a few films about those on here) and growing mushrooms.
Making films with talented craftspeople and unique characters is something I really enjoy. People often ask who makes the films on my channel, the answer is always me!
Hi, thank you! My label is inspired by runic writing, but I edited them, to be readable as the Cornish words 'Karn Kreft' meaning Hill Craft. Around this cup I wrote Flisk Flodu, taken from the lid of the 'Franks Casket' a really wonderful example of creative writing in runes!
The first thing i noticed was that the soundtrack is noticably American, WHY?? An English subject, English presenters, But an American soundtrack, WHY?
Loved the vid! well done. Great. Used to live in Cornwall...Just a couple of constructive observations. I love music but your choice detracts a little. No? You are obviously a talented couple so make your next one less scripted. No? Thanks again. Cheers
The woods are rather shaded and in a valley, so whichever golden-hour you choose, I'd be there a fair while before you lose the sun behind the hill / after it has risen xx
What a lovely production. We are a senior couple from India touring the UK on our own for three weeks in May and June of 24.We hope to do some scenic railway journeys in Cornwall.Best wishes to these youngsters and hope to see more of their content here on RU-vid.
What a wonderful marionette! I came across this looking for inspiration (I’m about to start making a fox marionette myself) Your whole way of working and problem solving is very impressive. Thanks for sharing.
'Chilling in Frodo's House' is definitely a compliment to my garden shed. I sell my work on my Etsy shop; Karn Kreft is the name. This one is sold out, but I'll make more. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/karnkreft
I consider myself very lucky to have been able to acquire one of Mr. English’s (I’ll say mister to anyone who wins a race at the Isle of Man) models, the Alfa Romeo Tipo 158 “Alfetta”, as also shown in the video. It still takes centre stage in my living room, it is absolutely stunning. Very friendly communications I remember too. The model was perfectly packed and shipped to The Netherlands. I sold many models to fund the restoration of an old racing car, but this one won’t go! In fact, I will buy one of the MV Agustas as soon as I win the lottery!
My grandfather taught me to always wear a glove on the hand holding the wood while carving. He saw my hand after carving a wood spirit (my first carve). I had over a dozen cuts on my hand. That's when he decided to teach me the proper way. My grandfather liked to carve gypsy dancer and hula dancer lamps at that time.
