Thank you for making this post. Very helpful and your sewing is beautiful. Love the vintage machine. I clicked on to both links in the description box but the download link doesn't work. I get an error message. I don't see any way to contact Luna either. How can I get a free copy of the pattern?
The pad consist of 3 layers, each layer serves a different purpose so it's best to find fabrics that are suitable. You don't need to use the same exact fabrics I used in the vid :)
I previously watched your video for making a menstrual pad and fell in love with your sewing machine. Loved how the machine handled such an even and controlled stich! I quickly went to FB market place searching for a hand crank sewing machine and actually found a few Singers in my local area. I ended up purchasing a 1939 Singer 99K in pristine condition for $125 US dollars! I couldn't believe it! I got her home, cleaned, oiled and fixed the tensions and she sews beautifully and sooo quietly. After watching this video again, I just realized it's practically identical as yours.
I'm so glad you're able to find one is pristine condition!! These sewing machines are amazing. At the time, Singer also make attachments for these type of machines to sew other stitches like a blind stitch / zigzag stitch. It's available on ebay / etsy, just ensure that it is compatible to your sewing machine :)
I believe your screws are reversed on the front plate. You won't need need to remove the flat head screw when removing the front plate if the knurled screw is at the bottom.
I saw that part and I had to try it, too. It doesn't show it but after moving that little arm out of the way, I had to pull the case towards the front of the machine and it snapped loose. After cleaning, I was able to snap it back into place and do some sewing.
