Just spent half an hour looking for this compilation cause I just played guitar for We Are the Tigers and remembered it was in a compilation that mentioned pre-Broadway A Strange Loop and gave a moment to our family friend who was in Holiday Inn and did the tap-dancing-jump-roping bit, and it was so worth it this is still the best "musical theatre moments that" compilation on RU-vid
Listen I am Back on My Musical Theatre Bullshit after watching the mean girls movie and imagine my surprise coming back here and seeing Renee Rapp lol. You were standing before it was cool
I’ve never seen that tap number or heard of Holiday Inn (?, don’t know if that’s the name), but I love it! The only one I’d even call better than that is King of New York from Newsies. Jump roping AND tap dancing?!?! Amazing, beautiful, wonderful, fun. I love watching actors jumping around while tap dancing, I think it adds to the reasoning behind the tap dancing in the world of the musical, and makes it look less out of the blue.
Laura Osnes in Bandstand was one of the most important things in my life for like five years. I wish they got awards. I wish they got recognition. Right This Way is a powerhouse. Welcome Home (Finale) is a tour de force. And they all deserve more credit.
1. I actually really like her vibe and voice! 2. WE LOVE DOGFIGHT! 3. Ragtime did and always will give me chills. 4. The bit with Bernadette Peters caught me off guard. 5. The newsies part was so chilling, and i'm OBSESSED with the tenor harmonies.
about carrie, the actors in the original stratford/bway are IMMACULATE, just the reason why it is so hated is primarily about the set design, not the actors.
Our local theater is doing Holiday Inn and somehow they're doing the tap/jump rope number i almost auditioned but was having some issues with the director, so I didn't sadly.
I was loving this video and then saw your Deaf West Spring Awakening profile picture and SCREAMED. I LOVE THAT SHOW SO MUCH I WISH THEY HAD A CAST ALBUM BECAUSE WOW
