I am so happy to see people are still playing this game. Now I need to rebuy Warcraft and join in the fun. This was my friend groups favorite mod back in the ye old times. I have played dozens of other TDs hoping to recapture a fraction of the magic from the old TD boom days of 2000's Warcraft.
how did you set your command cards to hot key-like buttons? im sure its simple but i cant figure it out for the life of me. to be able to select which tier and then send on the buttons
If I understand correctly. Click on the building(tier 1 for example) press ctrl+number. Now when you press that button it will select that building. To quickly send units, it’s usually with Q W E R A S D F Z X C V buttons.
Just now got around to watching and I really liked the video. Felt short enough to be worth watching and long enough to understand your argument and your points. I think 1 fielder swap is a cool change we could put in place to help with the simplicity of the game and also nerf that darn green dino that we all hate. I think right now the competitive landscape is seeing a lot of changes so I don't know if we should implement this right now, but I am all for getting 1 fielder swap once we are ready for it.
Good video. I haven’t ever been a fan of 1 swap I like 2 swap with no tires pitcher, but I’m starting to think that choice is oddly situational and I think u make a good argument for one swap

Wow! Dinger City really has come a long way. I never would’ve imagined finding an analytic review on the Draft I ended up seeing live a couple days ago. I don’t know the game well enough to do any analysis of my own but many thanks for doing this for anyone else who is interested in Mario Baseball content. I’m not certain if you’ll do anymore second guess opinions on things that go on in Dinger City but I for one will be looking forward to it.
I know you've addressed this in the comments a couple times, but I don't think Yoshi going for that much is a flub because of the format. You see far fewer power hitters in the Classic because most of them are good and get drafted in regular season - accordingly, they're more spread out over six teams. This leads teams to play more small ball and subsequently makes infield-fielding much more important. Yoshi is amazing (arguably the best) on 2nd or SS, and his ability to deny hits here makes him an absolutely amazing pick.
Yeah I think in retrospect I would move that up to #4 flub. Yoshi and Petey were overpays but at the end of the day they're premium characters that are going to go for a high price
Great video! I think Yoshi was bought at a premium as well but the biggest difference is Dinger City doesn’t have a fielder swap limit which I think helps his value, plus Yoshi kinda single-handedly helped Nick beat Dennis in the DC playoffs so I get why he did it.
Yeah, there definitely is big value to be found with Yoshi but it will take a lot of active effort to make that pick worth it for sure. Not saying it can't be done
His approach definitely paid off. It was only truly the top 2 picks (Boomer and Dixie) that made the difference - I think he paid close to market value for KB and Fire Bro (though they were fine costs).

Great video!! Great insight into everything the draft format was super fun to do. To talk on my picks I think waluigi wasn’t that big of a flub. He has great defensive value as a pitcher which is scarce in the classic. On top of that he can play the corners and middle infield well. I think his middle infield value goes up in the classic since I feel like you see a lot more Falcon pop star hits and he can MI super jump to snipe them. On top of that he has a great singles bat for offense. 22 is definitely a bit pricy for him but that wasn’t nearly as big of a flub that yellow mag pick was LOL. Walu for 22 is the #3 flub at worst imo imo
I think the mag pick was pretty suspect, but I would’ve probably paid similarly for waluigi, so I don’t fault you there. At the same time, if yellow mag was the first to go, it makes more sense because these sorts of things are hard to gauge value for early on
I mean if you think about a standard draft format, Magikoopa is going several picks before Waluigi every time. The only thing that really makes Waluigi have higher value in classic format is his ability to pitch, but he's not quite a top flight pitcher and you did end up with an even better pitcher. I think overall pitchers were a bit undervalued in the draft (hence them being the #1 and #3 dub) so if those pitchers had gone for more money and the Walu pick was because the market for pitchers was hot, I would understand, but I think as an infielder there's no way he comes close to $22. As an infielder he probably belongs around $8-10 imo. If we're strictly talking Yellow Mag vs Walu at 3b I would take Mag every time
@@Pokebunny yeah, I don’t disagree, I was moreso referring to the fact that I would be likely to overpay for certain characters on accident, especially if I wasn’t clear what expected value was going to be. I think he’d be worth more if pitchers were going for more, but as you said, they definitely weren’t
I don't know that Petey and Yoshi are NECESSARILY flubs. In this format, a great fielder can be of huge value, and Yoshi can be whatever you need him to be in the field. His bat isn't bad, just mediocre, and while his captain star isn't great, there's only a handful (Birdo, DK, Diddy, Wario) that are really much better. Meanwhile, the Winter Classic showed just how easy it is to steal against bad, weak-armed catchers, so having Petey AND Monty together means no one's stealing against Tyler. Sure, you can pitch around or walk Petey, but when you might only have one or two power hitters on a team, Petey's one of the best choices.
Yeah, I don't think they are MAJOR flubs, and maybe more deserved the HM category (especially compared to Wario). At the end of the day value isn't well defined at the top of the market, and they were top market prices for top market characters

Thanks! I used a Google Slides template called "Your big idea" and just took the slide formats that I found most compelling and threw some images on. Yeah, the Dixie pick was insane lol.
I'll comment my thoughts as well throughout the video. First off, although Wario is tricky to, "rank" but I agree that 20 is too much. He is a good middle infielder, but no paper and the wonkiest bat for a power character are blegh. However, I'm curious to see how his slap hit does after the world series. Green Paratroopa also used to be seen quite a bit, I'm surprised that he is 9 cause that seems a bit for just an average star hitter. Finally, man man has green bones seemed downward. I know he doesn't have a star hit or position, but he has a good slap plus star, that plus Bowser Chem is usually good, but Falcon pop is taking over now. Now on to actual picks, yeah I think Petey was way too much, like is it me or does anyone else seem to struggle to hit with him. I probably gotta practice more with him though, but yeah, over 40 with just Petey (and let's be honest, you're not getting DK and Petey) is yikes Now 4, I gotta disagree, maybe a bit lower, but Yoshi has a good singles. His Star usually also can net you a single, and he is the most key defensive character in the game. (Yoshi is my favorite character in this game if you couldn't tell) Mario is interesting, I think he's got a good single bat, but I do think the club has gotten really good at pitching around it. However, do not forget he adds some chemistry to Tyler's team. It's tricky to tell and I guess it varies on opinion at the end of the day. I definitely think Yellow Magikoopa was a flub. Heck even the club knew it. I still remember after Jason picked him up somebody yelled, "There's more Magikoopas!" which just tells you it's a flub of a pick with the value. Yeah, I wasn't surprised that Jason overpayed for Waluigi. Sometimes (especially with Waluigi) we DO need to put bias aside. The arguably worst captain star, worst laser, and if you use him as a pitcher... well the club knows how to hit against him. For the dubs (I'm getting tired so I'm gonna skip the mentions) Yellow Pinata, I agree, although the bat isn't as good, at the end of the day, we must remember the phrase, "laser wins games." This is a good pickup at a good value Magikoopa, funny despite paying so much for Yellow Magikoopa, Jason was able to get Blue at a STEAL. (Eight bucks for the fastest runner is no joke) I also agree, as a man who loves Yoshi, I like picking Diddy Kong up, and sometimes, I like trying him out as the 1 star captain. I think that raises his stock, he's a good pitcher, glue hands, I love this funky monkey, and I think he's underrated. Finally, I'll group the last 2 together, it's scary how smart it seemed Dennis was with his money. I think you could maybe make a whole list just off his picks, ha ha. I think Boomer and Dennis are a good fit and I am interested in seeing how that goes cause I feel like Dennis talks about what Meta thing to do with Boomer a good amount. Lastly, a solid pitcher less than half of Diddy's 10 bucks is a steal. So to summarize, someone needs to arrest Dennis, and give Jason finance advice

It's a $1k-ish PC I built in March 2020 with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Radeon RX 5600 XT. It's not impacted much by streaming, the lag is mostly in warcraft 3's poor optimization for many damage instances happening fast and lots of units - although the performance of ltw has gotten a lot better since this video as the mapmaker has put a lot of work into optimizing it.
@@NickTaber Nice, I really enjoyed these type of "lane" tower defenses, where you build kind of a maze directly into the path of the enemies, so it requires some geometrical skills next to the default "upgrading choices and planning for future waves", but this was more than 15 years ago lol if I remember correctly. I just stumbled upon some advertisement for a complete Warcraft 3 set for $20!! and I was like there is no way a 20 year old game is still sold and bought for the price of today's B titles... but it is. And I wanted to know if battle.net and custom maps still work, and it really surprised me that online warcraft 3 including custom maps and dota 1 is not only still being played, but the players base is still huge. So I looked how some of my favourite custom maps are being played today and holy hell, people still play it, maybe I will return to the past and start playing games like warcraft 3, age of empires, age of mythology and other strategic games I used to be obscessed about in my early teens.... It just surprised me that even on today's computers the strategic games with lots of units is still lagging, but then again with the poor optimization it is normal, the game uses only one core, and it does not use all the modern technologies and machine instructions, so it is basically limited by a single core max frequency, and if we compare today's 3-4GHz vs 2-3GHz 15 years ago, no wonder the games are lagging when we havent made much progress in the single core instruction per clock metric over the years.
You download the Blizzard battlenet client and buy it there. And actually what you see is Warcraft 3 Reforged with classic graphics enabled. So it's not the reforged graphics.
Hi it's Mr dies to Silver t1 in inhouses here The way you held my sends like that was super sick, seeing my sends from builder POV actually helped me a lot. 2 fire towers and 2 ogres really toasts orcs for sure. I was trying hard to put the screws on but your income was still crazy good. I felt like you were super ahead this whole game, your banshee sends, even though you didn't get lives, forced SanE to overbuild levs which is a big deal. I feel like forcing income concessions from void is how you abuse their t3 transitions very hard. I mean I am still a noob but it feels like that's the case. It's good to see you play! Cheers.
