You want to spin buddy tell the operator just barely tap the brake when the car is going downhill and then hit the accelerator that's going uphill that baby will spin like a helicopter rotor. I was a ride operator when I was younger and we used to Super spin people on the Tilt-A-Whirl all the time I can't tell you how many times I seen someone run behind the ride and start barfing hahaha
I wish there was a way to make the tilt a whirl cars spin less, since I don't like fast spinning (Although I have ridden on a few fast spinning rides, like the tilt a whirl and scrambler, and I think I even rode a sizzler once, I'm not a fan of them. I'm more of a gentle ride person.)
The tilt a whirl is the sexiest ride of ever. I love the tilt a whirl she is the full package. Rock solid body loads of nifty history and she doesn't kill people. Perfect wife. There is no "worst" tilt a whirl ride. There are just wonderful rides and wonderful rides.
i actually got a hint from the worker there. he said you can lean when it’s not a bunch of people, but what works better for atleast 2 people is just staying in the middle and not going on the sides actually makes you spin faster. we tried both different ways and it worked way better.
Aragorn Stellar that lame lap bar is actually a break mechanism.. When the ride comes to a complete stop and you raise that lame lap bar.. It keeps what we call the tub from rolling to the low point of what is called a bull plate and rolling over your little booger picking kids
it was to heavy I rode the same ride at sliver wood we had four people in ours and only got a few good spins there's also I trick when you ride his what ever way it starts to spin you lean that way and normally you can get it to spin really good :)
The cars don't spin according to screams and there is no special cheat brake to make it less fun for certain riders, Either the car is way too heavy as there were too many people (The adults should have sat on one side to unbalance the car) or the bearings need to be lubed.
The tiltaworld car was overloaded with 5 people for the high rotational speed of the platform. It is called centrifugal force. Car wheels should also has as little friction as possible to get more WHIRL than tilts.
When I was a kid the ride operator would spin the cars by hand as he went around to check that the bars were down on all the cars. I loved the sensation from that ride. Def one of my favorites.
its called Tilt - A - Hurl really but that was back than but they made it Tilt - A - Whirl but you are to spin around in cycles on the platform your on I count the times I spin in full cycles
I counted about 6.5 seconds for a revolution. The platform is running too fast. Most people who operate the Tilt never read the manual, but you want 6 1/2 revolutions a minute for the platform, which works out to about 9.25 - 9.75 seconds per revolution. If the platform is too fast, it will cause cars to get stuck on the outside, which is what you are seeing here in this ride. Source: Operator of a Tilt, and I read the manual.

Having been a tilt operator, foreman and lifelong showman I can tell you that a good tilt man can jake your tub with brake and acceleration to kingdom come. I spun a tub right off its bullpin in Oconomowoc WI on the 4th of July!
Nope, the ride is solely based on operator and gravity. You are supposed to operate the main platform at 3/4 of it's speed to start with to see how the cars react, then adjust from there. If some cars are having trouble (usually does) start slowing down and quickly speed it up at timing to get those things moving.
As a veteran operator of a tilt a whirl the way you get the cart to spin is by shifting your weight to the side the cart moves in. You can also achieve a good spin by having the larger children sit in the center of the cart. Other than those two statements there's no other way for you to create a better spin.
waltzers and t.a.w are the same but waltzer are like t.a.w v2 or t.a.w 2000. new and fancy with disco lights (if it has a roof witch it usually does), and pounding bass and sound effects while people manually spin your cart, cause its one of those kermis type rides. while t.a.w is old fashion. and it usually doesn't have a roof over it, but usually it has roofs over the carts. and since is old fashion its not 100% clean. i only see tilt a whirls in persons cause im in america, and its not common to see waltzers at fairs here. i would love to see a waltzer though. waltzers usually not or maybe even dont have roofs over there carts.
