Nice work! This was a really cool project! You have a ton of chucks for your lathe. Have you ever done a video on which chuck you like the best and which chuck works the best in the different applications and jobs you use them for?
Thank you. No i have not done a video like that, but the chucks i like the best are the One way Talon, like like one way die to the profiled jaw they have, and there open backside.
Great video, I’m now planning on batching out some sets for Christmas gifts using the same Crush Grind mechanism. Thanks for the inspiration. 😊 I’m planning on doing the drilling on the drill press rather than the lathe too… I might have to copy your fixture for mounting the blank on the lathe as well!
Some voice audio of what you are doing & what you are creating would be good. Too much action in the screens. What type of inserts? Nice video, but not much relevant content.
It less material to remove at the lathe, that in turn saves my wrist and tools some ware. But mostly its because then i can drill them on the drill press, without thinking to much. Once the setup is done its just mindless work😉
All the professional workshop ive been to over the years have never used them, and have never had any issues. And the only missing fingers and hand parts ive know off have been from table saws. I know the risk of what im doing and have thought about them. I know there is a risk, and im well aware of them, and make my work in accordance
@@moehoward01 At least I will keep the fingers to wag. If you don’t want to be safe, that’s fine. Maybe I’ll be seeing you in the OR sometime. However, please don’t make your audience think that it’s okay.
That's good and all, but his logic has a major flaw. Talking here about the 1st point. His point is that the only reason he doesn't do bad things is because he doesn't want to. But what if there is a bad thing that you actually want to do ? Or is your whole moral compass based around the whims of your heart?
Well that's a fallacy altogether if he's right then what's conscience just because you say my conscience won't let me is that justified no how would it if i said my conscience allows me to exploit people i should what if i enjoy annoying people now what anyway the point is that we're just a bunch of hypocrites who justify our cause and that's all theists or atheists just hiding behind beliefs and fancy logic either way his point is invalid and the only reason religion is better is because it works on the assumption we're hypocrites who need divine intervention and that divine intervention is posing a common moral code
Most atheists would be like “oh shit, you’re real after all. Bud I got some questions. Like there’s shit you need to answer for.” If they met him when they died. Most atheists don’t have a strict need to not believe, a lot of us just require proof. Ik you can say “well it’s belief. Faith. Faith doesn’t require proof” and that’s true but I’m not constructing my life around a maybe. Science has evidence that can be replicated again and again and that’s far more compelling than a potentially fictional book and an unsubstantiated idea of a magic fella. I mean no offense, I respect most people’s religions. I think if religion helps them be better people or helps them when they’re struggling or uplifts them, that’s great. More power to you. It’s just not for me.
@Heather-lb4ic my beliefs don't require legislative justification just love and that's my whole point I will love all and pray for regardless of what they believe 🙏
islamic narrative on purpose of live using movie as analogy "Life is like being part of a grand movie, with Allah as the Ultimate Director." In this movie, every human being is like an actor playing their role, each with a unique script and journey. Allah, as the Director, has given each character a purpose, a role to fulfill, and a path to follow. This purpose is to worship Him, live righteously, and contribute positively to the world. Just like actors in a movie must follow the director’s guidance to ensure the story unfolds as planned, in life, we are guided by Allah’s commands through the Quran and Sunnah. Following these instructions leads to a meaningful and fulfilling "performance" in this temporary world. Throughout the movie, there are challenges, dramatic moments, and choices to be made. Similarly, life presents us with tests, temptations, and decisions. The purpose of these challenges is to see how well we follow the script of righteousness and patience, while relying on Allah’s wisdom. In the end, when the movie concludes, each actor's performance is reviewed. On the Day of Judgment, our lives will be replayed, and we will be judged based on how well we fulfilled our purpose. Just as a movie is watched and critiqued by an audience, our deeds will be displayed and weighed by Allah. For those who played their roles well, staying true to their purpose, the reward is Jannah (paradise)-the ultimate "award ceremony." For those who strayed, there are consequences. Therefore, just like in a movie, the purpose of life is to play your part well, to follow the Director’s vision, and to aim for the best ending-one that pleases Allah and leads to eternal success.
Not just an afterlife; that’s just vague and empty without any sense of reason but Eternal life in Christ is something completely different. A perfect eternal life is the real point. If an atheist wishes to enjoy life the best they could doing everything without reason but a chemical reaction; what is even that? It’s pointless and meaningless since it’s not even real what you feel or enjoy. You really don’t even understand what life is. But when offered an eternal life and a perfect life so that it doesn’t just end so abruptly why is it rejected? I thought those moments make life meaningful and special? But not enough to want those moments again so it’s false and a lie that an atheist even enjoys anything but copes with the fact that it really does just end without meaning. As a former atheist; Christ is real and He gave me a new heart, a new mind and His Spirit and I was born again; I couldn’t feel emotions but man He did the impossible, I could careless of another human being but man Christ really came and saved my soul from death, I was dead and now I’m alive. Not just a word of convincing but He Himself manifested Himself through His Spirit and stood by me without uttering a word and He came like supernova and an explosion and in an instance i knew Truth and it’s Him, all my deadness died and fled from Him and He gave me life. He’s real, how special it is to know the Almighty Creator even took the time to look at you personally and personally save you, comfort you, and love you. If you knew what I knew.
@@b.w.woodturning Let me explain. My friends who were never in a workshop told me you're supposed to remove rings. I hate to admit they were right. Though I used a lathe in a professional capacity I only heard about loose-fitting shirts and gloves. Anyway, supposedly a ring can get caught in a machine and tear off your finger. There are more 5 times more injuries per year with a ring than with a table saw. Even outside a workshop, seems like it gets snagged on a door, ladder, anything and tears the flesh off. Silicone ring is supposedly a good alternative.
You have a Peon at the end of the video… what’s not to love?!?!! 😂 Your next one needs to start with ‘Something need doing?’ Cool video Ben - awesome to see your process! Hopefully customers keep ‘borrowing’ more of them so you keep making them 😂😂
Thx for the input, i will keep that in mind for the next project. To fill them, just pull of the top, they grind very well, and they keep grinding the same way for many years.
Good camera shots but if you don’t cover that frigging planer you wont have any finger tops to carry on 😮 and yes show the workings of the finished product
Ehhh... I'm going to go with the idea that: I don't know what that parent has been through that day and if they're that way every day or not... and I'm certainly not going to make a video that judges them on potentially their worst day when I know I've made mistakes as a parent.
There's ways to say this without going biblical, but: Let he who is without sin throw the first stone. I don't know how the source of the video upload changes that idea.
