Fishing and Fish Farming (At Home) In a journey to raise Tilapias, to be able to breed them and then create a cycle to have unlimited supply of sea food right at home. Pushing to bring new content every week! Twitter: @REAL_MTFISHER Email: mtfishercertified@gmail.com
“Each pineapple plant produces one pineapple, which grows from the centre of a plant on a long stalk. Like all bromeliads, once the plant has produced a pineapple it will die, but small plants or 'pups' growing at the base of the plant can be potted on to make new pineapple plants.” - GardenersWorld
That is definitely another option. I have seem many youtube videos about it. I just wanted to try something new. I will mostly likely be removing the plastic wrap I added, now that I don’t have any more big fish and only have the netting on top.
The oil cartel sets the prices. For example in BC there is only one refinery so they charge 30 to 50 cents more then other provinces. No competition, high prices. The real problem never gets pointed out. Same with our grocery chains. No competition. And the list goes on.
@MTFISHER yeah it's awful the highest I've seen the gas price in n.b was $2.07 diesel was the same that day too for a good bit almost 2 weeks of that shit (used to work at a gas station)
Make sure you build it properly and keep an eye on it. A lot of people had success with these, including myself, but then i had complain from a few others (because its mdf)
Placing tip of hose in hot water for a couple minutes will soften hose and allow you to really get the hose on the fitting perfectly, when it cools it will shrink back to size making a very tight seal . Only issue with this is you pretty much have to cut the hose to get it off.
I bought a sunsun 3000 from "finest-filters". It failed in service after only 8 months, ruining the cabinet and ceiling below andI'mstrugglingtogetarefund.. I will never touch one of their products again.
Sunsun primary sealing o-ring relies on the clamps pulling the o-ring down into the tapered main body. IMHO,but wilth considerable experience as an engineer, this is far less effective than an o-ring being compressed against a flat surface. ❤ If the plastic used to mould the main body is too pliable, it yields to the outward pressure of the o-ring and reduces the sealing pressure thus water gets past it. This problem is not unknown .. more than one RU-vid post suggests wrapping ptfe tape inside the anular oring groove. Basically, this is intended to restore the original sealing pressure .... but highlights the flaw design and materials.
@petenewell5377 I haven’t had any issues with my canister filter so far. I did add a few extra things to prevent/slowdown a leak. I put the canister in a large tote and have the canister filter attached to a smart plug that can be controlled from my phone. That way, I can stop the filter right away if I see water spilling. Been planning to add a water sensor in the tote, so i can be alerted if water does start spilling in the tote, didn’t get to it yet lol.
Hey man, a few things to consider: 1) First would need to know your tank size in gallons. 2) Knowing your fish. How many fish do you have and how much waste do you think they produce? Low/Medium/High. (example my tilapias were fed twice a day and they would produce a lot of waste) 3) Whats your budget? 4) Not sure what products are available in India and what stores sell canister filters.
I have been using the 303B and 304B. They are in my experience quite a reliable filters. Currently B both are still running, 303B 4 yrs and 304 going 3 yrs. Just a tip to prolong it's use: always do regular maintenance (i do once a month or every 2 months), do not put too much filter foam and medias and lastly make sure you clean the propeller and attached it properly. I have beeng using the UV light ( intermittent on and off) for longer than a week and i don't have any problems with it infact it does help achieve crystal clear water. Nice vid very detailed!
Thank you for the feedback and advice! I have been doing cleaning every 2-2.5 months so far. UV light i haven’t touched it. It’s been fine as is without the UV light, crystal clear water even with heavy waste makers like Tilapias lol. I might be removing the canister filter for now since I am almost done with the Tilapias. Going for smaller fish this time with low maintenance.
@user-so2bu3cm3r I would first start by separating the parts. Identify which one is your inlet pipe, the outlet pipe and the in/out attachment that goes on your canister filter.
Your content is very nice. But your video's SEO score is very low! your videos are not SEO, and few subscribers, they are not reaching the target audience. That's why no reach, no view, and subscribers are not increasing, because of that, no views are coming. I can say as a RU-vid expert if you can do channel and video SEO-friendly things like tag, hashtag, description, and keyword research then your RU-vid channel and video will grow fast. The only solution to this is because your channel doesn't have enough SEO. If you want, I can do that full expert SEO service and fully help you.
please...just hang the damn power strip upside down under your stand and create 'drip loops'...talk about unnecessary. You also created an eyesore. Duh.
Putting a fish tank on MDF is r3tard3d already, let alone thin MDF with no central brace! Not that that would make it ok anyway. You have no business giving aquarium stand advice sir. Good lord 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Want to raise tilapias as pets or for food/homestead? I found a seller in Toronto who shipped them to me when I was living in Montreal. Took a risk on paying him upfront lol but it paid off! I found an online canadian farm supply seller who sold fish/tilapia food pellets. Let me know if you need the link.
@@MTFISHER I had a 56 gallon tank, I wanted to add another tank to the bottom and noticed major bowing on the top tank. That was after 6 months I'd guess-- I swapped it for plywood before it reached it's breaking point
Please choose another setup. The tank is way too small for that Tilapia with no enrichment whatsoever. Just a glass box. Not good. Release him and educate yourself if you are going to keep fish. Of course the Tilapia was going to eat those poor guys sooner or later. In fact, most fish unless they are total veggitarins will eat a fish, shrimp etc if they can get it in their mouth. At least this experience taught you a good lesson not only about fish keeping but it looks like something called 'empathy' for those little guys who managed to survive.
1) The tilapias will get eaten soon. 2) No, you cannot release the tilapias, it’s considered an invasive species. 3) I bought the goldfish as a treat, knowing they will be eaten. If i do plan to continue the tilapia cycle, goal would be to have small fish as pets and also have a separate tank and raise feeder fish to feed the tilapias.
Thanks for posting this video! I just bought this filter for my small outdoor pond. I estimate it’s about 200-250 gallons. So hopefully this filter does the trick! THANKS!!! ✌🏾
Hey, hopefully the video helps you with the setup. If you have any questions, let me know I’ll try my best to answer it. Good luck with your new filter!
@@MTFISHER Thanks you’re awesome! Would you happen to know of any way I can control the inlet/outlet flow? Any accessories or attachments? The filter seems to be almost too strong for my pond but there’s no way to control the flow
@Fotosynthesis858 So i haven’t personally tried it on my setup but there are flow control valves you can buy online. You will just need to make sure its the right size for the specific canister filter.
