I've been searching on-line for a black beans and rice recipe and yours is the one I must try. God bless your grandmother for passing down such wonderful recipes.
Hello. Parboiled rice (or converted) is briefly precooked. It's pretty foolproof but not really the same as instant. Check the label, it's pretty common and easy to find 🙂
Heyyy! My 1st hateful comment, congrats! She might have tattoos and a can of beans to make a more simple version for busy families, but if it wasn't outstanding, I would not have featured her recipe. God sees the heart, not the physical.
@@LulisCubanKitchen "Hateful" 🤣🤣 Holy crap, you're the epitome of confused. God stated VERY CLEAR, "only a fool follows the heart". Try reading the bible once in a while. It warns against heresy like you just committed. Putting words in God's mouth and changing what was written.
God Bless you! Your mothers planted a seed in your mind. She is always a part of you and thank you for sharing. PS My mother never taught me how to cook. She as very impress as I was caring for her near the end of her life battling breast cancer. I honor my mother by continuing her baking. Again! Thank you and God Bless you both Ladies.
Omg I made it but without the mojito because I didn't have the other things but it still came out so good. Thank you so much! And I'm Puerto Rican ok lol🎉
Hola,se que uso una lata de frijoles negros, pero cuando agregó la taza de arroz lo hizo en una medida difrente(una taza grande)Cual es la proporción entre frijoles y arroz?Gracias!
Absolutely Spanish origin. Most of the Cuban population was originally from Spain, including my grandparents on both sides. This is why they are so popular in Cuba. There is a Spanish flair in most Cuban food. These evolved are very much traditional in Cuban culture.
Spanish immigrants formed a huge percentage of the Cuban population. Many of our grandparents/ great-grandparents are originally Spaniards. There is a lot of Spanish influence in Cuban food. Hence, the Cuban croqueta... Spanish origin tweaked with local ingredients.
Que Ricas me Quedaron Gracias❤ quiero que me mandes la pasta de bocadito echa con Jamon la Reseta. Grasias una bes mas y muchas Bendiciones para uste y tu Familia
Just curious……my Cuban husband and family makes this but with a block of softened cream cheese, and the canned deviled ham ( sm can in a white wrapper ). What do you think ?
I know there are people who make it that way. I think I prefer fresh ham, BUT I've never tried it with canned. I will someday, since it's common. When I do, I'll report back. 😉
Im going to try this recipie real soon. Thanks for sharing your secrets to this recipe. I haven't been able to master the black beans yet and I'm sure what the special. I will be on point😊
We put the pork belly in the air fryer, slow and low at first, so it renders fat and the turn it up to 350 to crisp. It's sooo good but it's something you kind of have to babysit. Enjoy!!
You know what makes it better? Cos I've made also like this way, but it's not as tasty as....made with 2 cans of Deviled ham instead! Try it👌I add also 1/2 T. of mustard and 1 t. of sweet relish. But your recipe is the closest one to mine. I made up this recipe from the Pasta de bocadito they used to make at El Presidente Supermarket in Hialeah!
Hi Liz! Any smoky ham will do! You're going to love them 😊. Just make sure you use the measurements I provided because I didn't film when I added the 2nd half of the milk. Oops..
What is "complete seasoning"? What kind of ham? How do I make sure I get that smooth (not chunky) ham texture? Croquettes are my favorite!! Just got back from Miami and want to try making them at home. Thanks!!
Welcome Krista! It is Badia complete seasoning. If you don't find it, Amazon sells it. I use it on everything, you'll love it. Use your favorite smoky ham and run it through the food processor or mince it tiny by hand. Use the amount of milk I stated in the video since I realize that I didn't film when I added the 2nd half of it. Follow my steps and they are going to be amazing, you'll see. Report back and let me know!
Thank you I learned a lot, I like your approach to cooking and the way you make it seem easy best wishes with you dad, I know how exhausting that can be
I really enjoyed the rice and beans recipe. It looks so wonderful. Thanks for sharing your loving thoughts at the end. You are right it is a way to keep their memories alive every time we gather at the table.
