I grew up in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This town had a busy Burlington Northern, later BNSF mainline. The Amtrak "California Zephyr" stopped there daily around 5PM. The town also was home to the Midwest Central Railroad, and every Labor Day weekend they would have three narrow gauge steam locomotives operating. In addition, my grandfather was a Milwaukee Road car man from 1942 to 1978, and he and Grandma highly encouraged and supported my interest in trains, particularly steam.
It seems to have stuck. Nowadays, I do these videos simply because I still enjoy them. Today I'm based out of Baltimore, Maryland, but I otherwise still get out from time to time to see trains in action
Yeah I recognize that guy he likes to spam like that a lot. Also is the streamliners event actualy coming back. Or is this just a promotion for a video from the previous event.
@@Cwilliam1999 We wish, but I honestly doubt Streamliners At Spencer could return. I mean, that was a one-and-done event. That was the plan from when it was first proposed. Now of course we have the cancelled Steamfest At Spencer, which would've been basically the same thing, but this time with a lot of historic steam locomotives instead of diesels, and we also had the showcase of all 20 of NS's new heritage units in 2013 at the Spencer roundhouse, but that's really it. It's possible, but I don't see it occuring anytime soon, seeing as how much the overall world and railfan scene has changed in the past decade
